Goalkeepers with eccentricity?

I am about to sign a goalkeeper with 20 eccentricity, i have heard that this stat is bad, can anybody tell me what this will do?

He will do crazy things that most likely will cost you a few conceded goals every season.

Like trying to tackle opp. strikers and join the attack etc.

Chaos is what this will do! He'll be like one of the Bushwackers on a sardine bender.

damn maybe no too many games for him! is there anyway to reduce their eccentricity? because he is a great keeper!

It can be a good stat though if he pulls it off, but maybe don't play him in extremely important games. Try playing him for a while and judge yourself, players with eccentricity stat of 1 still do stupid things.

Yeah Eccentricity is only a really bad stat if they have poor decisions. If their decision-making is high then they won't do stupid things all the time... only occasionally.

You've got to also remember that keepers with a high eccentricity rating will also pull off great saves that more 'normal' keepers won't make.

It's a double-edged sword.

Just set him to Sweeper Keeper (attack) - and enjoy the fun, fun, fun!

reina has a 8 eccentricity stat but he does crazy things for me too.

Even a keeper with very low eccentricity will still occasionally do something silly, particularly if they have poor decision making (which Reina I'm sure does not). But 8 isn't a particularly low value for that attribute.

Think about the most important Italian GK (no need to name him). He has a 16 as Eccentricity but a 16 as Decision too. Wouldn't you hire him? As in reality he does some strange thing (like dribbling in his own area) but most of times he let you win with his saves.

Id keep a GK with high eccenticity as long as his other attirbutes are good enough

TBH I've never noticed much difference between keepers with high eccentricity and those with low one. They all do stupid things all the time for me

Second best goalie on my Newcastle game (basing on awards, been runner up of European goalie of the year twice in a row) is my no.1 Joe Hart his eccentricity is rather high, 18 I believe. He does well for me, I believe the higher the eccentricity the worse his communication with the defence is in spite of the communication attribute.

An example of a real life eccentric (but good) keeper is Fabian Barthez.

Ordinarily he would be someone you'll want in your team, but then he has his wacko moments.

Eccentricity in this game has always seemed quite arbitrary to me. How is Joe Hart more eccentric that Almunia, Fabianski or Dida?

Is there any way to (un)train eccentricity? Or increase the decision making ability? I have a GK (Lukas Raeder at Bradford City) who has 14 eccentricity but only 7 decisions, not sure I trust him?!
