Press Conferences: Quick Question

Recommended Posts

When you've finished a press conference, one of your answers becomes a news story the next day, with the possible reaction from the player or players concerned. Does this mean the answers to the other questions had no effect? There have been times when I've criticised my team's performance, for instance, and then been asked who I think the next Player Of the Year will be, and the media have gone with the Player Of The Year answer. Would that mean that my criticism had no effect?

No, others can have an effect too. Yes, usually the main news piece is the one that has the most effect... but I've had some players be pleased and disappointed from the same news conference, at different comments I have said... so it is possible for multiple questions to have an effect.

No I believe all questions have an effect, not just the main story.

You are right. I've had the news story focus on a question about an opposing player but a couple of my team still showed good reactions to the press conference overall.

However it is usually just the main focus that has an effect.
