Which patch best allows for wide play?

I am currently playing on 10.2 and trying very hard to get 4-4-1-1 to work on a long term game. Am considering starting a new game with the transfer updates people have made and just wandering about people's experiences with wide formations in 10.3 vs 10.2

Uhm well I never played with any earlier patch version but I've managed fine using width in my two saves. Usually I do maintain two strikers though.

Its not the ME you need to look at its your team & the opposition.

I always start with a 442 and in FM10 I've managed in the following countries:

Brazil - A lot of teams played narrow formations and I was more or less forced to match them playing 4222

Malaysia - Reasonable success given my squad using 442

Sweden - Two promotions and a cup win using 442

Scotland - Didn't work and I adapted to a 41221 (DM, CM, CM, AML, AMR)

USA - Lots of success with 442

Italy - Weak wingers and a lot of the other teams playing 4231 (narrow) or 4312 has forced me to play narrow. I tried 4132 (DM & 3*CMs) then 4312 (3*CMs + AMC) before finally achieving success with a narrow diamond (DM, CM, CM, AM)

I run a 4-4-2 and I don't know if it's just tactics I'm using now or what... but when I had 10.2 it was all wingers down the touchline and a cross, in 10.3 they pass into the middle more often, but I'm playing more of a possession game now vs a higher pace attack game.

Either way, get 10.3 and just play the tactics that work for your team.
