What do you rate as been a good average

for example if i get a average rating for a player above 7.00 for a match or a season i think that player has done well.

I generally think that if a player get a rating of 7 or more hes done good.

I usually praise my players in the media if they get 7.50 over five games. I think anything over 7.10 over a season is good.

Largely depends on how this rating is compared with the rest of the team.

I like my team to have above 7's and over 7.5's for attacking players.

7+ for Central Defender, Defensive Mids and Goalkeepers

7.5+ for Full Backs

7.75+ for wingers AMC and Strikers

This is with a top team though, so my standards are higher.

I think 7s are a generally good score for a top level team.

Players who get goals and assists should be doing better than that though.

Its a shame goalkeepers dont get better ratings.

How I view match ratings, depends on the positions they're playing and the overall team performances. For example, in games where my team dominates and scores lots of goals, it's hardly surprising to see central defenders and the keeper have lowish ratings. That's because they've had very little to do to earn higher ratings.

I'm also a little sceptical about the accuracy of performance ratings given for the central DMC slot. I believe the ratings still favour more offensive play, over the defensive play that would normally be expected of the position.

Generally speaking though, given the tactical setup I'm currently using, I would look for 7.00+ from the keeper, 7.20+ from defenders, 7.30+ from the central midfielders, 7.50+ from the attacking midfielders and forwards. That's based entirely on the players I have available and the settings I use for them. Younger players I'm more lenient with, for obvious reasons. They're still developing.

Ratings definatly favour attacking players. I wonder if this will be addressed in the new FM?
