I started a thread a couple of months ago about people CM/FM history and you'd be surprised how many FM Forum stalwarts started off with downloaded tactics.

It gives you an idea of what is needed and certainly helps you get to grips with such an intricate game. Eventually creating your own tactic is far more fulfilling though.

my aim is to create my own tactics, my old tactics from previous versions doesn't work with this one so it's starting from scratch tactically

There really is no trick to Football Manager. Perseverance and patience are important, and this maybe means the game won't appeal to everyone.

And of course, no matter how much you try and how patient you remain, there'll be times, just like in real life, where nothing seems to work. And you know what? I love it, because it feels so REAL.
