Stops Play?

Under a players preferred moves tab, what does the item "Stops play" refer to?

Also, would you consider it a positive thing to have, and tutor onto youth, or a negative attribute?

Its when a player slows the game down. “Dwells on ball” is considered to be more negative than “Stops play”.

It would depend on the player, this ppm is good for DMC for example who is told to retain posession or when you want to slow the game down.

Some one who will change the temp of the play, rather then rushing the ball forwards he is more likely to hold on to the ball for a better option. Some times it's a good thing....some times its the worst. It depends on the player.

no, its someone who holds the ball, effectively stopping any sort of play, its very dangerous to use as it invites players to close him down

I like it for a deep lying playmaker, takes more time on the ball to find that killer pass. Not good if the opposition is marking him or closing him down often.

I feel you could also simulate this by ticking 'Hold up Ball' in the tactics screen. A midfielder who holds up the ball, generally seems to wait for a better option, logically also inviting other players to close him down though.

SI should make those PPM's more clear without having too ask players to train them and only then seeing what it really means.
