AndyRich
click on him, it usually says what under his picture, or try clicking the WP sign?
Daemon_Rising
You can sign players no matter what, even if the WP fails. Check back to Aug 31. Chances are the WP failed, and you were told you can sign the player anyway, but he must be loaned out in order to get EU citizenship.
jod123
Are you sure it went through successfully? You would have still been able to sign him even if he did not get one. You need to send him on loan to your WP feeder.
trekman
What feeder clubs do you have? You must have one in a suitable country or the transfer would not have went through. Spain, Poland or Belgium are the best countries but if the player is from a South America then Spain is the place to send him because of their 2 year rule. Magicz
That happened to me with Aguero on FM08 but I offered him a new contract and he could play. Try it... Hope this helps
aaron1606
Check he was actually granted a work permit. If one of your feeder clubs are suitable for sending non-EU players on loan to to gain EU nationality then you can sign the player anyway whether he's granted a work permit or not.
