Just a thought on what influences a player to join your club

We all know the obvious and its clearly documented.

However does your assistant manager influence a player to join your club? For example Celtic have just signed a new CB swede (although he is actually Serbian) and was somewhat influenced by the Assistant Manager who is a swede. Does FM actually implement this?

I think it would be a very nice touch to have players join clubs because cultural links. Though i don't believe it would be major reason

The games influences are the size of your club and the money on the table, yeah the game should definately change some of this stuff to make it more realistic

I recently signed a young Hungarian centre half and overlooked that he spoke no English and kept getting reports that he had trouble fitting in due to the language barrier. I then signed another Hungarian who spoke both languages in the hope he could translate and help the young centre half. Made no difference at all and he keeps moaning that he doesn,t get a game.

Funny how we confuse FM with real life.

Somewhere round FM05 or so I remember trying to buy Kompany for Newcastle and he wouldn't go, but when I bought Vanden Borre who was his mate next thing you knew I snapped up kompany as well, so it must play some part.
