Sr. Luria
Scout and scout often, watch the draft and look at potential international players.
SaintToon
Right away throw a good contract at Donovan and make his asking price very unreasonable, he is too good to lose.
Cougar2010
Right away throw a good contract at Donovan and make his asking price very unreasonable, he is too good to lose. You do know that there is a squad wage limit in the MLS don't you.
rancer890
Cougar, there is a cap, but only $400k of his salary counts against the cap. LA have a big enough budget to accommodate his DP contract. 1 - scout often 2 - find freebies. There's enough of them out there to be successful without throwing a lump sum to get someone 3 - sell Donovan (he'll get mad anyways if you reject an offer) 4 - learn how to trade fairly. Don't be afraid to package a 1st rounder in any deal. 5 - don't sign too many players because you will be forced to waive them in the waiver draft and during the season. Know how much money you're committing to the squad It's not a hard league if you're smart enough with cap management and making sure you have enough Americans (or Canadians if you're TFC) on the squad.
