Players Scoring Against Their Old Clubs

I signed Billy Paynter from Swindon for my League 1 club. He is a reasonable striker for that level and scores about 18 goals per season for me. We drew Swindon (who are in league 2) in the FA cup and Paynter puts in his best ever performance with a hattrick. Then two season later Paynter is having an awful season for us, he goes and scores FIVE against Swindon in the League cup and gets a perfect 10 rating. So thats 8 goals in 2 games, and now the Swines want to buy him back!!

Have people found that players do well against their old clubs, or is this a massive conincidence?

I haven’t taken any notice from it. Though Jack Wilshere did pick up a massive lift of form after scoring two against Arsenal. I’m think coincidence, it could even be the other way.

Just last night my former player got an assist and a goal against me to turn the game around and win 2-1, it is annoying but it happens IRL

Valencia's Santa Cruz equalised in the 88th minute against my Man City side in the Champions League. Probably my fault for claiming he's not going to cause us any problems in the pre-game press conference! Shame they needed a win to beat us to 1st place in the group!

Happens so often I wouldn't blame you for thinking it's coded into the game.

someone i sold played against me last night and scored the opener... he got on the wrong side of my captain though and was taken off injured before 30 minutes were up
