A quick question regarding midfielders

Recommended Posts

i would always try to keep your players in their natural positions. If your DM is a natural DM then telling him to sit behind the front to and attack isnt really ideal. A MC is the best option as they are generally more 'rounded' and a safer option in attack rather then in defence

Goodness, how simplistic the answers! You should not accept those so readily!

It would depend on what players are involved. If the DM is a natural DM, but has become accomplished as an MC, and has better attributes for what you want out of your forward mid than the MC sub, then you might well switch him up. Of course, you'll also have to consider whether or not the sub coming on has good stats for playing as a holding midfielder or a DM. He might be a red dot at DM, and you might well need to keep someone of quality in that spot, so the switch might be a poor idea. But, then again, he might be red dot at DM, but be a natural at MC with some nice defensive attributes, in which case you might consider playing him at holding MC, tracking back into the defensive position.

Or you might... well, the point is, the possibilities are really endless. It's quite dependent upon the players, and your strategy, the situation in the game (behind, ahead, tied, hopeless, don't care, ...), etc., etc., etc.
