My game speed has ground to a halt....what can I do?

It's 2020. My game has run fine up until now - a coupe of seconds for each continue, about 15-20 seconds during transfer windows, Internation Tournaments etc.

Now every time I click on a player it takes literally 20 seconds to move to the next screen. Continues seem fine and I have no other applications open.

What's going on?

thanks for mentioning that i am aproaching 2020 and the same is happining .and the text is slowing down..
