Edited Database on a Network Game

Is it possible to play a Network game with an edited database?

Or does it cause problems?

Will it make any difference if all players have the edit on their computer?

Should be fine.

The client gets the data from the host's database, so it won't make a difference what the other players have or don't have. They'll be able to see you've made changes on the status screen though, so if you're doing it to cheat then i'd watch out

Ok so those are conflicting answers. Anyone have any experience of using an edited database online?

I've only ever played Network games with my mate, and we've edited a few things ourselves with me only ever being the host, with the edited file... and never run into one single problem... stretch this over the last 9 or so years?
