Can You Revolutionise Football?

Recommended Posts

Something I've always wondered, and I think I may have revolutionised the way other managers on the game work their tactics.

I'm Leeds, it's 2017, I've won two promotions, one title and one Champions League title. I was very fortunate to have 6 world class players come through the Thorp Arch academy. Away from home I use a 4-4-1-1 system, with one attacking midfielder behind the striker. It's generally been very successful for me. At first I didn't notice, but as time in the game (with my success) passed on, I noticed more sides using this 4-4-1-1 when coming to Elland Road... is it just coincidence?

Well on my game, since I began dominating with a 4-4-2 variant (wingers set to play as inside forwards), and had 8 years of dominance with Liverpool, and after a two year break, success with Spurs, almost every team seems to be playing 3 at the back, whether that be 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 to try and neutralise me. Rarely works though. :)
