can you get a player to work on his weight

one of my players are 14 stone 4 pounds and i want him to lose some weight

I think they do as they play and train, I remember having a right porky player on FM08 and he got slimmer as the season went on.

Weight has no meaning in FM as far as i'm aware? It's just there for cosmetic purposes, like the players Height, although Height does influence his jumping attribute.

Seriously though,wouldn't weight affect agility, acceleration, pace, balance, jumping and stamina ?

Plus, there's no reason why a person at that weight can't be in good shape. I know a guy who's going to join the Para's is incredibly fit, and is 14 1/2 stone. I've had to carry him before so I know he's that heavy!

Height is used in the ME now, maybe last year as well.

Its used when a player challenges for a ball in the air. The player decides if he needs to jump based on his height then if he decides he needs to jump the jumping attribute is used.

I'd like a confirmation of that too. I've been told the exact opposite here as 'fact' when I had precisely the belief you uttered.

You may create a special training schedule just for him, with a heavier load on fitness and intensity level. I used to do that and it seemed to work to build up fitness.
