If you have 'quick starts' enabled - then it basically speeds up the start of the game at the cost of not randomising anything, it effectively loads a special save game which is set to the start of the game with a few markers indicating that you should be allowed to choose a club to manage before the game begins. If you turn this off then you'll see more variety at startup - at the cost of a slower creation time for the game initially. (tbh most people don't seem to ever notice that this is the case and just use quick starts - but we put the option to disable them in for chaps like you who have noticed, just in case it bothers you) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
