Group of Death

Hey,

I thought I would start a thread about international management (apologies if one exists but this one will be better ). I think it is easy to be a top national team and do well, but being a lower nation with not alot of talent isn't easy. Also there are a lot of threads of how people manage to win the world cup with San Marino, I want this tread to be the nearly thread. For instance you do so well in qualifying, you beat all exceptions by getting to the finals and then it's over. You feel deflated and you go home to start again for the next tournament.

Now I'm am currently the Scotland manager and I know what you are thinking, wait a minute they're not a lower nation. Well there are, we haven't been in a tournament since World Cup 98 and we lose to the likes of Wales and we don't have a great talent pool.

So I get though the Euro Qualifying in second place with some good results.

And on the way I won the very first Four Ass. Tournament. I then beat Romania in the Playoffs.

I am now happy as Larry as I have just got Scotland to there first major tournament for 14years. Then I am drawn in the Group of Death, and I must admit I was so close to loading an early save so I could get drawn a different group, but I'm glad I didn't.

I then go on to lose a very respectful 1-0 to Italy who are actually good in this game.

And now we're up to date, this is my World Cup Qualifying Group.

So please feel free to show of your nearly accomplishments as I have spent about 15mins writing this.

I have a save where i am USA. I got to the World Cup only to be drawn with Cameroon Argentina and Czech Republic. Lost to the first 2 which eliminated me, i havent touched it since!!

I also managed Scotland for a bit in my game.

I was hired in 2028 and my first job was to qualify for the 2030 WC.

I did pretty good and qualified them for the first time since 2018 when they reached the quarter finals.

Seems like you did a good job especially since I'm finding already that the talent is starting to dry up.

As Wales I got to the qaurter final of the world cup beat Italy 2-1 to get there, was placed agaisnt Germany so set up an all attacking 443 and lost 6-5, I now consider Germany my biggest rivals but my press confeence when I next faced Italy was quite ammusing.

Tbh, there was no lack of talent: this was the key player of the moment:
