Transfer troubles

Hello!

I tried selling off an aging player and got a Club offering him a contract and him agreeing. When the transfer window finally closed I was still stuck with him. The deal was cancelled due to the window closing. What does it mean and how can I transfer him?

Basically not everything went through with the contract and when the window closed the transfer was killed off due to a several month wait for the player.

Just offer him out to clubs

Just to add what to what typenamehere said. He won't be able to leave your club until the nest transfer window though.
