German Third Division Rules

I'm having trouble staying under the guidelines of the league rules on FM09 with Regensburg. I've just started the game.

-All players must be registered

-At least 3 German Players must be under the age of 23

-No more than 4 German Players can be over U23

I have 2 players under 23. 2 even. The rest over 23. What can I do about this? Does it really matter? How and When can you register? Why do they even make the first two rules?

Any help would be appreciated. I'm struggling how I can deal with this. Put in bad reserve team players?

Are those rules from the league match screen?

If so then registration happens at the start of the season and you possibly get the chance to change your squad at each transfer window (ie January).

A) Players that haven't been registered can't play in the match.

B) You must have at least 3 German players U23 in your squad.

C) You can only have a maximum of 4 German players over 23 in your squad.

D) I'm guessing other nationalities aren't affected but you may have other rules regarding them.

E) The German FA set the rules.

Do you and the game mean match squad as in Starting 11? Or entire squad?

I have no idea how I get under these restrictions. Any ideas?

Yes, I expect it means match day squad so first eleven + subs.

So for each match you are allowed your Non-German players + 4 over 23 Germans.

You'll get the option to register your squad nearer the start of the league season and you may be limited to a certain number of players as well.

You really need to use the off-season to cut the number of over 23 Germans in your squad down to around four, although you may want to keep a couple more.

Then you need to sign Germans who are under 23 to fill out your squad.

Well I HATE those rules! My team would have had a lot of quality but now...

Those rules aren't the same in the higher divisions, right?

Yeah, these rules make it really tough in the Third Division. I'm also managing Regensburg on FM10, but I didn't have much problems with these rules (expect from Non-EU players).

And yes, the rules are not the same in higher divisions, you don't have limits on age and nationality.

That's nice at least. I understand why they do it I think but it is still frusterating.

I may have to come back to this save and try Holland a bit. They don't seem to have many rules.
