Skooma
Is it possible for players to just up and die? Like in a car accident or something? How about of old age when you play a game for a ludicrously long time?
Jamie Slaughter
Never seen it... Would all get a bit morbid if you had a long long save going on.
Super Bladesman
No, and nor should they in a game. Imagine if your Dad was a footballer in real life, and you were playing this...

Quantico
No, and nor should they in a game. Imagine if your Dad was a footballer in real life, and you were playing this... It would be hilarious watching some 12-year-old kid seeing that msg

Taytaz
No it wouldn't. gotta agree with you on that one. I mean, when you think about it, it doesnt add anything to the game to have the option of horrific accidents occurring to stop a player's career. WH
You can just imagine if it was included and a bug popped up. "Fred Smith died in training today and will be out for 3-4 months or 2-3 months if sent to a specialist

tcoleman1
What a ridiculous idea. These are the parts of football you wish to keep out of games ffs. You can replicate anything that has happened to players irl by giving them injuries or unavailable to play but coulf imagine a game where a message comes into your inbox sayign Salvador Cabanas has suffered a bullet lodged in his brain because an America fan didn't think he scored enough. Ridiculous.

Ridiculous. Or we could have a player, possibly a bit like Wayne Bridge, refusing to play for England because a player, a bit like John Terry, has gone a copped off with a woman who was once his girlfriend, or once served him at a pub or something. OR. OR, we could stop all this adding of pointless twiddly bits to the game and get on with playing football.

John Terryy
if they never die, wont the database get bigger and bigger and slows the game?
Oypus
if they never die, wont the database get bigger and bigger and slows the game? Well no on the database, since players retire. The game does get slower and slower as it goes on btw.
ArranoBeltza
I don't think players dying should be in the game, bit it would be interesting if a player ended his career due to an underlying medical defect, or if a player failed a transfer medical for the same reason. Not something I would necessarily fight for in-game, but doesn't sound too bad. It's realistic without being morbid.
Oypus
I feel it wouldn't be realistic at all. What percentage of professional players have some sort of lingering condition that forces them to retire/not play? I think the most common thing to happen is for an older player to blow out a knee, tear something, or something else horrific, and just decide to call it quits. I can think of only Dean Ashton (just injuries), Ruben de la Red (whose condition is unknown, really), and Ledley King (who still manages to play). That's three out of....how many? Plus, this is a game. I would go into a near permanent fit of rage if I ever had a key player who needed to retire for a medical thing. I don't want such depressing things in a game.
