It does know CA (which in itself is meaningless- it's just the attributes added up and multiplied, and theoretically a human with Excel could work it out), and reputation exists solely so that AI managers pick the "right" players and not just the best ones (eg Barry gets in England's midfield despite having a lower CA than Gerrard and Lampard).
