Don't think he was fired as it says "Manager Stuart Pearce leaves". He probably just retired. Rooney took over and has been much more successful. acidmonkey Posted June 12, 2010 Share Posted June 12, 2010 well in his 6 year stint as england boss on my game: 2014 world cup - lost 2nd round 2016 Euros lost in the final 2018 World cup - lost in quarter final. Then again He was a sucess compared to Paul Jewell who failed to get us to Euro 2020, saw us go out in the group stage in the 2022 world cup too. RetroGunner Posted June 12, 2010 Share Posted June 12, 2010 He spent 6 years in the job on my save and had some success won European Championships in 2016, 3rd in Confederation Cup in 2017 and quarter finals in both 2014/2018 World Cups and then just left.
