ashlfcowen Posted June 10, 2010 Share Posted June 10, 2010 Football Manager 2010 With the World Cup 2010 quickly approaching, we've decided to jump on the bandwagon like many other sites on the scene and implement the hype through Football Manager. First of all, our very own Rob was quick to implement an idea where a country with a lower reputation than most would be changed with a fantasy nation made up of "fantasy players". Basically, us. The response has been fantastic with all 23 positions being filled. You can follow FMDetonia through their conquest by clicking here, or even start your own journey and update us in the special-edition career thread. We've also been informed through a, want for better word, 'random' thread on the forums that the transfer-rumour guru Rex is in the process of creating a '2010/11 Summer Transfer Database'. Whatever the case may be in terms of where Fabregas, Torres and Gerrard end up, this database will have it and will be released months before FM11, so it's a must if you're after a new career. Follow the progress Here. Although not quite as popular as we had hoped, the FMD Team of the Year is still in progress. Nominate a player and then vote to see him gain assurance into FM10's overall best squad. We're currently battling to find out who the best left back is, with Rene Adler narrowly beating Igor Akinfeev and Sergio Romero to pipe the best goalkeeper. Get involved by clicking here. Another feature we wish to focus on in the future is our 'Special Discussions'. There will be no specific time-line between discussions but ones we do post will be worth while and there will be an opportunity to post in as much detail as possible. In depth analysis is encouraged, one liners are not. All worthy replies will be collaborated into one article and will be posted on the main site. So, if you notice a discussion that 'tickles your fancy' then do not hesitate to get involved. Away from it all... Ever wanted to win something by not having to do sweet FA? You can do by following FMD's Champions League Tournament, started and maintained by FD. With 32 people expected to get involved just after relaunch there were doubts whether it would kick off but FD has proved patient throughout, ensuring we surpassed our expecting number and filled up every single slot. We're currently in the progress where all 32 members pick their teams, with the likes of Liverpool, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea already picked. Follow the progress here. Next up we have the ever-popular but always-fun World Cup Sweepstake started by adz.villa. The strategy is simple; you're assigned a team. If they win the World Cup, you win the Sweepstake. Again, the interest has been better than expected. There have been no talk of prizes for the winner, yet. You can find the sweepstake here And...
