Hull City and "the Circle?"

Just seen a report about a match at Hull and it said at the circle. Checked info screen and thats their stadium name.

I thought it was the KC stadium?

Would it be a new stadium perhaps?

Any info would be appreciated.

I think 'The Circle' is the (un?)official nickname of the KC Stadium.

So similar to when Arsenal were at Highbury, its real name was The Arsenal stadium, but everyone called it highbury. makes sense.

The KC Stadium is built on the former Circle cricket ground, i think. Hence the name.

Kingston Circle (KC)

It is named the KC Stadium (full name Kingston Communications Stadium), because that is the sponsor. It's actual name/location, is The Circle.

Just like Arsenal's ground is named The Emirates because of a sponsorship deal. It's actually Ashburton Grove.

Corporate Sponsorship reasons, SI can't get a license for all of the stadiums named after sponsors so they use the original name of the stadium.

It hasn't been changed, The Boleyn Ground has always been the name.

Upton Park is the area the stadium is in. But the media for some reason always called it Upton Park, so thats what is most popular. I have no idea why..

I'm not 100% on this but before the KC stadium was built there was an old cricket ground there called "The Circle".

It was built on what used be The Circle Cricket ground at West Park. The Stadium is called The Circle but is Known as The KC Stadium due to sponsorship.
