Reputation

Hi everyone,

I recntly started a new game as Newcastle in the Championship and managed to win the league in my first year, in my second year I managed to get 5th place in the Premiership (by playing the most boring football). After this acheivement I decided to resign to try and try and get a better job but no clubs offered me a job apart from Championship and League 1. Why is this?

What reputation did you give your self at the start? And what is it now?

You have to win stuff to gain reputation. Seeing as you've only won the championship once, and no cups, you aren't going to be courted by bigger teams. Plenty of managers have won just as much or more than you.

I started with the past experience of 'sunday league footballer' so my reputation was regional at the start and it has now increased to national but what you are saying makes sense. Thanks!

im suffering the same thing where i got 2 back to back promotions and then left and then got no job offers from divisions above (started in Blue square prem went to league 1)

As said earlier, all about competitions won..

If you've scraped through the play offs both times, its not really impressive.

Although I have noticed the same thing; managerial merry go round seems to happen more than unemployed managers given a shot

If you are successful, you get so many offers you have to beat them away with a stick.

All premier league managers have the minimum of continental reputation. And I think most of the CCC as well. With only a national rep, it is no wonder you won't get any job offers there.
