Help! Game Won't Start

When I click play on steam or double-click on the desktop, the game starts in that the screen flashes up for a second and then disappears.

This keeps happening, have tried re-installing and verifying the game cache.

Any other ideas? Any help would be much appreaciated, first time in a while I've felt like playing FM and can't get on

Just an idea but do you have a firewall or virus checker blocking access to Steam?

Make sure your graphics card drivers,directx and java are up to date. If your using a disc then check it for damage.
