lutontown1991
If you arrange friendlies to be played in the US or parts of Asia like the big teams do IRL will there be an increase in merchandise sales and will the club get an increase in reputation and fanbase? Is this in the game? If not should it be included?
AbsoluteGenius
I don't know, but I do it just in case i.e. with Juventus I arrange a preseason tour of MLS clubs, starting off with a game against my affiliated club Toronto. I then finish off preseason with a match against my affiliated Chinese club, Shandong.
lutontown1991
I do the same. I look forward to the pre-season friendlies a lot.

Im not sure about single friendlies
SeanNUFC
Don't think it works like that in fm sadly. Would be cool if it did.
lutontown1991
I know that if you sign a player from a distant region e.g. China you're Merchandise increases. this is the same with getting a feeder club from a distant continent. Why not the same when you play these teams abroad
Ryknow
Someone did some research about this and found that there was hardly if any rise in merchandise sales. Others believe that it does work so I'm not sure but I do them anyways. I would like finances/merchandising inc. tours to be improved on in FM11. jod123
I think a hint in the game said a preseason tour to a place where you have a merchandising feeder club does increase your merchandise revenue (I read it somewhere anyway ), however I never really noticed any significant difference in the game. santy001
Its true in real life, Man Utd made far more when they signed Park Ji Sung in terms of shirts being sold in asia than their pre-season tours out there would raise in terms of immediate impact. However, I do pre-season tours each season and after 3/4 seasons have noticed its going up even though my club is still held in the same esteem. StevenChap
I squeeze the most amount of friendlies I can around Afghan, Iraq,Iran, and any place with war for some odd reason
AbsoluteGenius
Most Man Utd matches are shown in South Korea because of Park Ji-Sung.
