International Management

Recommended Posts

Just had a thought and was wondering why you don't get paid as an international manager? Seems weird that you don't, considering the likes of Fabio Capello wouldn't be doing this for free :confused:

Manager wages serve to add to a clubs costs as well as affecting the boards decision to sack you and other clubs decision to approach you.

As International sides have neither finances or budgets then there is no need for wages.

ive often wondered this, but that expllaind it above.

however, i think there should at least be contracts, cos you can just stay as an international manager forever, there is no letting your contract run out or anything.

With regards to Guus Hiddink, he had a clause in his contract that allowed him to manage PSV and Austrialia which would be a realistic element that could be implemented in the game and the Chelsea situation was different in that he was only the temp manager of Chelsea and there was only 1 Russia game in his short stint.

In addition to the unrealistic nature of a lack of contracts in international management, it is surely also unrealistic to be able to manage club and country at the same time without an objection from either party.

It happens a fair amount these days.
