OohAahCantona
Scored enough goals... just need to stop letting them in! Yes I'm bad.
Dregganor
Shame! Do you play with the overload tactic quite a bit?
OohAahCantona
Shame! Do you play with the overload tactic quite a bit? No, whats the overload tactic? I play with an attacking 4-3-3, it got me to BSP and to League 2 really well but I'm struggling defensively with it now!
Dregganor
I probably should have chosen my words better. I was talking about that tactical shout thing that you can use during matches. You can change your team's mentality to "overload" which is what it sounds like.
robertcornell68
I've always found 4-3-3 to be very solid at the back. How are your central defenders set? Edit: actually I haven't ALWAYS found 4-3-3 solid at the back, I used to find it leaked like crazy. I once drew six consecutive games 2-2. It stopped when I switched to a stopper/cover combination. Graham FM
ive been using 4-3-3 from BSN to the championship.. i found it a great tactic but very rarely do yu keep a clean sheet..i manage to score more then i concede... i found i concede most goals from counter attacks
scoot4nat
If it's got you promoted it sounds simply like your defenders aren't good enough. If you were too attacking you would probably have conceeded goals at lower levels as well. Who supplies the goals in your team? Cos if you have a player who isn;t contributing you might want to make them more defensive, orreplace him with someone who can shore up the goals. dontask
i played 4-4-2 at league 2 level and let in 26 goals in the season. now in league 1 and won 3-2 on 6 occasions in 17 games already this season. my problem is obvious, i need a stronger defence
danpegg
Off topic here, but that is the first time I have seen the AI get Grimsby promoted on FM10 I am a Mariners fan btw. And I would love to see your defenders stats haha

If your using the attacking shout all game then your fullbacks will push up too much and you will be caught. When in the lead try to control the game or play on the counter to prevent them exploiting the holes in your defence.
