Stadiums for international competitions

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find anything in search.

If you were to get a new stadium constructed for your club, is it possible that the new stadium could be used to host matches for international competitions or do the international competitions in-game only use a fixed list of stadiums?

I would imagine that international games (certainly main squad) will be played at your national stadium and that is it. You will very rarely if ever see main international games played at a club stadium (unless your country does not have a national stadium of course).

I think he meant if that country hosted a tournament like the World Cup, if the stadium would be used. I don't know the answer for certain but I would imagine that it could be used and would hope so.
