I'm looking to buy FM 2008 but wondered if anyone could answer if it will run on my laptop, my spec is: Intel Pen III 730 MHz, 512MB Ram Mobile PCU 1000MHz Don't you just hate it when you get a game and it won't run on your system!!! Also is their a data editor and basically is it worth buying??? Its on sale at hmv for £10. Thanks to all that answer, my management future is in your hands!!! DevonSpurs
It'll work fine, but I would suggest not playing with too many leagues, and maybe look into buying another 512 of RAM
Feedolover
how much does RAM cost
benji!!!!!
Feedolover- I'm getting an extra 1GB for around £25, so 512 should cost no more than £
jakobx
It will "work", but its gonna be very slow even on the lowest of settings. I think its time for an upgrade.

It will run (but not perform brilliantly) I would say. Your CPU is probably going to be taxed to its limit even with a small number of leagues. I would consider upgrading a laptop with those stats if you can afford to do this.

Go to Crucial and do a system scan to see what they suggest .
Kain
You'd need more RAM than that, I think. I only have 512MB and it runs pretty slowly on mine. I'm currently trying to save up for a new one, as everything besides my hard drive is rather dated now.

Feedolover
See my computer doesn't actually run the gamt that slow. Does RAM affect speed?
pelicanstuff
Originally posted by Feedolover:See my computer doesn't actually run the gamt that slow. Does RAM affect speed? To an extent. It depends what else you have running and how much memory that uses. Arguably processor power is more important, but there is a lower limit of 'free' ram below which performance will be degraded - this depends on the number of leagues selected and how long your game's been going on. Feedolover
So you think that after a season or two my computer might be unable to run the game due to the sheer volume of data the game uses?

I can't tell, I can't see your computer. Some people have had problems after more like 5-10 seasons, though, IIRC.
