Resigned Captaincy?

I have just won the oceania cup with New Zealand. However my star defender has now resigned his captaincy. He hasn't retired internationally and is still with the team. However I cant find anywhere to convince him to stay as captain.

I know with alot of aspects of FM you can normally convince a player to change his mind about decisions, however I cant see anywhere for this.

What im asking is, can I convince him to stay as captain? He has been very dominant and has given a boost to the whole team.
