Registering home grown players for Euro Comps (problem)

I've been playing for a few 'years' on my game and i've qualified for the Europa League with Newcastle. However, i've gotten myself into a right state and don't have the required number of home grown players to compete. The problem is the game is 'stuck' on the registration prompt and i cant either sign some eligible players or tell Uefa to stick it!

I hadnt saved the game in a long time so i was snookered when i realised my mistake and have since saved it to the point i'm at now.

Is there any way around this?! I'll be gutted if i have to lose my game but it wont let me continue with the game. HELP!

Register some youth players.

You need to leave out the same amount of players that you are short of - so if you are 3 players short on the HG rule, you will only be able to register 22 players.

It wont let me, i go to auto select and theres 1/4 and 4/8.

Follow this mans advice. Just leave spaces in the squad. It works.

If you can't get your head round it then just holiday and your assman will sort it but you'll be left with his choices.

Incidentally this advice needs to be put in a sticky or something, seeing as the question is raised constantly.
