Setting up a network game for dummies.

Right, me and a friend are trying to set up a network game on FM 2010. So far we've read various other posts on the issue but still can't work it out. So I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to go though baby step by baby step what to do. We've both got Hamachi, but whats confusing us is what to put in on Preferences - Network, and then how to connect to the server and add a manager. If you could in really simple terms explain all of this I would be very grateful
