That is certainly what happened on FM 09, as scout reports would have the 'unlikely to be sold to rival club' part. Heck, relationships between clubs can change just after a match with 3-4 red cards or a cup final with some dubious decisions, especially if playing in the same league. At present, some of my rivals have fallen down to League I while I'm in the EPL. We haven't played a game in ~10 years or so and if we did I don't think it would be a derby. *smirk* We certainly need some evolution over time. I've been a top 5 Premier League club for about 25 years now but I still have no rivals. As a London based club surely someone would hate us by now?
