DP
Bath City have a pre war history. Was in the 'old' second division with Man United and Liverpool at one point - even winning it.

jld123
Could've told him to eff off but don't think that would have been looked on too favourably by the mods. But anyway, only Newport seem to have history in the FL recently, and Bath a long time ago.
phnompenhandy
Technically, the Newport County that are champions of the BSS are not the same club as the one that was in the old Division 4 since it went bust. But that's nit-picking. Two BSN clubs are ex-league, by the way.

anagain
Newport County are the only club I know of that have a league history. They moved around the divisions until 1989 when they went bankrupt. Bath's Second Division appearance was a wartime thing and they went straight back to the Southern League after one season. Of the other clubs, Weymouth and Woking probably have come closest to league football. No one else has really hit the limelight.
anagain
As for the Blue Square North, well Workington and Southport have a more recent league history. Gainsborough Trinity were a league club early in the 1900s, Stalybridge had 2 seasons in the league in the early 20s and Northwich were a founding member of the Second Division, but only lasted a few years. Telford came close to league football in the 80s and 90s, before folding.
