Assistants/Coaches/Scouts becoming Managers

Recommended Posts

Right. I manage Scotland at the moment and one of the things that I always find fun is to take coaches, assistants, etc. that have good stats and turn them into managers. I have just done it with Nigel Gibbs. He was my under 21 manager and recently (in half a season) took Brighton from 13th in League 1 to 2nd and got them promoted. Makes me proud.

But, anyway, I was wondering a few things. Firstly, is it the adaptability stat that determines how quick their "manager bar" advances?

Secondly, is it determined by the number of games that they manage or the amount of time that they spend as the manager. For example, if I go on holiday for 6 months but don't miss any games, will my assistant manger's manager bar begin to fill up?
