Player value drops AFTER purchase

Hey all,

This is the first time I've posted so forgive me if anything similar has been brought up before.

I started a new game with Arsenal and decided to add to my midfield by buying MIRKO VUCINIC from Roma for £25,000,000. Okay, probably a good bit over the score perhaps but anyhoo. Once the deal had gone through and the player joined my squad, I noticed when I checked over his profile that his value was only £7,500,000! When i scouted hime he was originally valued at £9,000,000 or so.

Any ideas. A bug? Or somehing about the gameplay mechanics or even football tranfers in general that I don't understand.

Any pointers would be very much appreciated as it is doing my head in!

I dont think that it really is that much of a big deal.

When I signed fabregas for 90 million his value went down to 30 rather quickly.

Besides, just because you pay an amount for a player doesnt mean that he is worth that much. Teams over pay for players all the time.

That's nothing, players' values drop after a few months of play in general

Player value will be close to their game value rather than what you pay for them at the start of their time with you. It will go up with reputation and success.

Thanks very much for your replies. I've never actually played FM beyond 1 season - I've got a nasty habit of restarting after the first season which rather defeats the purpose I know.
