Switzerland Win The 2010 World Cup!

Has anyone else had an outsider win the world cup in 2010. I wasnt in control it was the AI manager.

on fm09 i got to the final as ivory coast, lost to spain, had cameroon and switzerland as other semi finalists

I have not seen any outsiders win the world cup on any FM game that i can remember.

btw who was/is their manager?

As long as it is a rare occurrence there is no problem with this imo. Remember Greece in Euro 2004, it can happen.

I've had Mexico win the 2010 world cup on 10.2

Brazil on penalties! It was a team of blacked out players (bar the obvious ones) so they had no injury problems. Melo got red carded iirc:thup:

Ghana beat England in the 2006 final in one of my old FM 2006 saves. On FM 2010, I saw Ukraine lose to France in the Euro 2012 final, nice to see the host going so far... played all their games in Kiev until the final, moving to Poland screwed them

Sweden won it in 2014 in one of my FM07 saves. Turkey won a couple of Euros in that same save.

this type of computer-generated outcomes are ridiculous, a total turn-off!

In a recent FM10 save I have seen the following 2010 World Cup Final: -

England 3 v Scotland 1

Scotland beat Brazil and Italy en-route.

The only playable leagues were England, Germany & France.

I won it as Ivory Coast.

Not had anyone strange win a WC or Euros on my game yet. Italy and France are dominating International touraments. Brazil did slip to around 40th in the world rankings at one point, sacking managers almsot every month it seemed, but have recovered to 4th.

I remember in FM07 or FM08 China won it in 2010.

I've had the swiss win the WC2010 against England, and Scotland won the Euro's a few years later :O

just had paraguay dismantle brazil 3-0 in the final! a roque santa cruz hattrick :S they beat spain and italy on the way

Scotland won it on mine, beating Argentina, Mexico, Spain and then Serbia in the Final.

I havent saw any internation jobs yet, in my save, still on first season tho, but when world cup comes, il be sure to find one atleast!

England Are Ranked 1 in 2011 on my game - Nigeria Beat Brazil 2-1 In The Final of 2010

ive just had Chile win it against France in the final

Switzerland won it on my game yesterday too.

Their path to the final was something like this: Brazil, Costa Rica, South Korea in the group stages. (They drew 1-1 with Brazil and topped the group.)

They then beat Japan ( while I had to play bloody Brazil!)

Then Australia

Then Italy

Then beat Brazil on penalties in the final

Turkey here. As long as it's rare, I don't mind although from past games it happens quite regularly, especially when regens come in and even things up a bit more. Although upsets can and do happen, it is something of a rarity in the two major tournaments World Cup and European Championships for these to happen.

I've seen Ghana win 3 World Cups in a row on an old FM 2009 save. Something like 2026, 2030 & 2034.

Wales won Euro 2016 in mine

Scotland won in 2010 on my save and then Craig Brown quit the next day........

I've seen Ghana win it and when I won it with England I played Slovakia in the semis.

I won it as Mali on 10.2

In my Fulham game Ireland won the 2010 world cup. I had Duff and Kelly on that team.

Mexico beat USA on mine..

Wales won it on one of the earlier verisons for me.

Russia in one of mine, in the same save USA always gets into the semis.

Uruguay beat Greece 2-1 after extra time on my current save

Holland won it on mine against the Czech Republic and then in 2014 Belarus came third.

Poland Got the semi's on my brazil save, I cam 3rd. They even challenged me to the 3rd spot. England won it in the end though, with Joe Cole starring.

Scotland beat South Africa 3-0 in the 2018 Final for me, South Africa knocking out England and Scotland knocking Germany in the semis, both 1-0

I won it as Poland once.

Strangest ones I saw was in one of my holidayed games, the EURO 2012 was won by Finland.

Russia won the 2010 WC in my LLM save.

And England came in second in its Euro 2012 Group (losing out to Wales), and got drawn against Spain in the playoffs. Then lost.
