NVIDIA and ATI are dedicated, which means they are added to your mother board and are exclusively geared towards delivering much superior graphics.

Integrated means a crappy card that is just enough for basic computing but not for gaming. Avoid it!

If you wanna play games, the computer has to have a dedicated graphic card, period.

This seems to be the consensus - but have SI made FM to complicted with regards to the 3-D in terms of people needing a pretty good graphics card in order to use the 3-D facility (or play it smoothly). I mean I have recently order a laptop - pretty up to date that has a decent processer and RAM etc to increase performance but I thought after some research that the graphics card would be fine to be able to play the 3-D aspect of FM. But it seems I have been mistaken - fair enough I will need a dedicated graphics card to play and proper 'gamming' game such as COD etc but I dont think FM should be in this catagory and I think that SI has made FM less playable to an extent adue to the restrictions of such a superior graphics card. I mean how graphicaly demanding is the 3-D of FM - I'm no expert but I would not say that they have pushed gamming to the next century if you get what i mean - I just dont see how the basic nature of the 3-D in FM can warrant quite a high tech graphic card.

I'm no expert in computers - just as Ive been looking recently it seems this is a bit of a snag. I mean how many people on these threads have a dedicated graphics crad - I would presume it is certainly a lot less than half. I could be wrong though.

if your on a budget.. i have no idea why your buying from pcworld tbh...

check out mesh or pcspecialist if i were you...

and tbh.. if youve got 2gb ram and 512mb graphics card.. you'll be able to run 3d on fm no problem whatsoever...

If you can't go over £430 you will struggle to find a laptop which runs the 3d on full detail and smoothly, which is how the YouTube video appears to be set up. Best you could hope for is that it runs smoothly with the detail turned down a bit. There is probably a laptop out there for you but you would have to look beyond traditional high street retailers like PC World.

With regards the ATI 4200. That would likely be better than the Intel 4500 integrated graphics but it still has to share its memory so its not really a dedicated card as such and will perform accordingly.

The top one appears to be slightly better (but probably slightly more expensive), although I don't know if the processors are any good as I prefer intel chipsets.

Thanks mate im definetly buying the top one but all i really want to know is if i buy the top one would my match engine be as smooth as this http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/dell-i...27264-pdt.html. Because i dont want to but that laptop and then find myself in a silly situation like not having a decent 3d match engine as i am in this case know lol. I just really wish one of the techniqual SI staff will answer me lol.

I would just go for it mate. Take the advice of the guys here. I dont think anyone from SI will comment on it, because they need to protect themselves in case you come back on here complaining about their recommendation. IMO

LOOOOOL thats the thing i have got barley any advice and if someone from si reccomends me to buy it i wont blame it on the i will blame it on me for listening to them if you no what i mean.

It may well struggle to be smooth on the 3D match engine with only 512MB graphic memory. A little info:

http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Radeon-HD-4200.20493.0.html

You pay for what you get on laptops costing £400 - functional but not particularly powerful enough for gaming.
