TJJESSE
You will want tot get a pc with a good processor and a dedicated graphics card so that it can play FM. Right i think i found one with a dedicated graphics card check it out please. Processor AMD Turion II Dual-Core Processor M500 - 2.2 GHz - 1800 MHz HT - 1 MB L2 cache Operating System Genuine Windows®7 Home Premium RAM - 4 GB Graphics card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 graphics processor Screen type Widescreen Screen size 15.6" Hard drive 320 GB Optical disk drive DVD Super-Multi DL Memory card reader 3-in-1 card reader USB 4 USB 2.0 ports Wi-Fi WiFi 802.11b/g/n Bluetooth No Video interface VGA output TV output Yes Sound Altec Landing Speakers Battery Lithium-ion Accessories included Battery, power adaptor Size 35 x 370 x 256 mm (H x W x D) Weight 2.6 kg http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/asus-x5ae-sx002v-04287937-pdt.html Do you think this laptop would be able to play my match engine like this?>
craigcwwe
Yeah that will work for you mate.
craigcwwe
what is a dedicated graphics card This means that the the pc doesn`t use memory from your pc so that you can play games and things like that. The dedicated graphics card has memory of its own which allows you to play the games.
phd_angel
NVIDIA and ATI are dedicated, which means they are added to your mother board and are exclusively geared towards delivering much superior graphics. Integrated means a crappy card that is just enough for basic computing but not for gaming. Avoid it! If you wanna play games, the computer has to have a dedicated graphic card, period. nev147
NVIDIA and ATI are dedicated, which means they are added to your mother board and are exclusively geared towards delivering much superior graphics.Integrated means a crappy card that is just enough for basic computing but not for gaming. Avoid it! If you wanna play games, the computer has to have a dedicated graphic card, period. This seems to be the consensus - but have SI made FM to complicted with regards to the 3-D in terms of people needing a pretty good graphics card in order to use the 3-D facility (or play it smoothly). I mean I have recently order a laptop - pretty up to date that has a decent processer and RAM etc to increase performance but I thought after some research that the graphics card would be fine to be able to play the 3-D aspect of FM. But it seems I have been mistaken - fair enough I will need a dedicated graphics card to play and proper 'gamming' game such as COD etc but I dont think FM should be in this catagory and I think that SI has made FM less playable to an extent adue to the restrictions of such a superior graphics card. I mean how graphicaly demanding is the 3-D of FM - I'm no expert but I would not say that they have pushed gamming to the next century if you get what i mean - I just dont see how the basic nature of the 3-D in FM can warrant quite a high tech graphic card. I'm no expert in computers - just as Ive been looking recently it seems this is a bit of a snag. I mean how many people on these threads have a dedicated graphics crad - I would presume it is certainly a lot less than half. I could be wrong though. Welshace
if your on a budget.. i have no idea why your buying from pcworld tbh... check out mesh or pcspecialist if i were you... and tbh.. if youve got 2gb ram and 512mb graphics card.. you'll be able to run 3d on fm no problem whatsoever... phd_angel
well, to play in 2D even my oldie 1987 286 pc will do... but later then, don't complain why it cannot run 54 leagues from 39 different countries...
Spikey
If you can't go over £430 you will struggle to find a laptop which runs the 3d on full detail and smoothly, which is how the YouTube video appears to be set up. Best you could hope for is that it runs smoothly with the detail turned down a bit. There is probably a laptop out there for you but you would have to look beyond traditional high street retailers like PC World. With regards the ATI 4200. That would likely be better than the Intel 4500 integrated graphics but it still has to share its memory so its not really a dedicated card as such and will perform accordingly.
