Gambit
Does anyone know if teams with an Amateur status move up to Semi-Professional and then to Professional? Yesterday I made a new American pyramid I planned on playing with. There were a few teams with Semi-Professional and Amateur status's set in the lower leagues but I assumed that wouldn't be an issue. Well a few the Amateur clubs made it to the top flight in the late 2020s, but never changed their status to Semi-Professional or Professional. I'd like to get this resolved since most of the clubs ended up being managerless for a long period of time.
ssestig
Semi-pro to Pro is usually when the club get promoted into League 2. Not sure about amateur to semi-pro though.
doc_
If I'm not mistaken, it has more to do with the club reputation than the level it is in - with the obvious point that, the higher the level, the higher the chances for them to grow on reputation. thebluesigns
My understanding is that it's linked to reputation, though a change tends to coincide with promotions as generally those give a jump in club reputation.
ssestig
It's a bit of both i've noticed.
Gambit
I'll have to check the team reputations with FMRTE to see how much higher they've gotten in the 40 or so seasons that have run.
Vangelis21
it had to do with the league. i dont think it is possible in the same league to be teams that are amateur and professional. this has to do with the country. for example in greece the first two leagues are pro and the third semi pro, whereas below that they are amateurs. in england as i know tier 10 is amateurs, tier 9 semi pros
Lenzar
Level 9 in England isn't entirely pro, my local team are level 9 and are amateur (or at least are in FM)
