Unrealistic situation

Recommended Posts

In the year 2012 in my game and Reading are in the Premiership after being promoted last season. With 4 games left to play they are 8 points from safety and looking likely to go down. Sounds pretty normal so far, right? I just randomly checked their transfer history and since they've been in the Prem they've spent £45.5m on players and only sold £110K worth.

Brendan Rodgers has been managing them since the start of the game. I'm sorry but how the hell is he still in charge? If a club spends nearly £50m on players and goes down wouldn't they be in danger of going into admin? How can any chairman stick by a manager in these circumstances? Surely money outweighs any loyalty that has been built up? After all, the existence of the club is far more important.

Arguably, Bryan Robson spent a considerable amount at the time with Middlesbrough, they were relegated, but he brought them back up.

Depends entirely on the chairman, their expectations, the depth of their pockets...
