What is a Sporting Play Draw?

Recommended Posts

iirc the 3 UEFA nations with the best overall discipline record over the season (not sure how exactly it's calculated - fairplay tables etc) get allocated a place, which then gets allocated to the team in said division with the best individual discipline record.

It's a ranking by UEFA that determines the best disciplinary record for each team and eventually for each league/nation, the best nation wins and gets 3 clubs into Europa league qualification or something like that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone..

I believe it is for countries whose clubs picked up the fewest cards.

there's a lot that goes into it. Current table (well, last published) here.

Basically the top team (who hasn't already qualified for europe by any other means) in each of the top 3 ranking nations (on the table in the link) gets a place in the europa league 1st qualifying stage. (had a big look at it yesterday after it becoming Fulham's possibility for europe next season)

sorry boys but Fulham have the extra spot wrapped up. Love the way people ignore above posts tho , and yes Lenzar did qualify through fair play and get relegated from the prem in the same year

Nobody ignored it. They were speculating on who the spot would go to if Fulham qualified by other means.

Correct.:)

Not only that.

Teams are judged on the following criteria:

* Yellow and Red cards: If no cards are shown the score will be 10. Every yellow card will deduct this total by 1. A red card will cost a team 3 points in the ranking. If the red card is the result of a second yellow card the deductions of the second yellow card will be ignored. But if a player gets a direct red card after he got a yellow card earlier, the yellow card will be counted as a deduction. This score could become negative.

* Positive play: For positive play a team can score a maximum of 10 point and a minimum of 1 point.

* Respect to the opponent: e.g. returning the ball to the opponent at a throw-in: maximum 5 points, minimum 1 point.

* Respect to the referee: maximum 5 points, minimum 1 point.

* Behaviour of the team officials: maximum 5 points, minimum 1 point.

* Behaviour of the fans: maximum of 5 point and a minimum of 1 point

NB: this criterion is ignored when the number of fans is negligible e.g. if there are no fans at all or because of penalty that was given by the UEFA.

The total number of points will be divided by the maximum number of points (40 or 35) and multiplied by 10 which will result in a score between 0 and 10.

Depends if Fulham get a league europa cup spot/win Europa Cup/win FA Cup or play someone like Chelsea.
