Well I must say I am having some good luck in the FA Trophy this year, having a great run though it has affected my league season dropping me to second behind Kettering, though into top 8 of the Trophy and Top 16 of the Shield looking good http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Boreham Wood- 08/09 BSS- Season Review

The title is a little misleading, as I gained promotion from Blue Square South by winning the league. A 31 league match unbeaten run fuelled by loanees was the reason for my promotion and I found some gems, many of whom will no doubt not return on loan next season.

League Table (http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i189/Roke11/Dafuge08/0809_Table.jpg)

I can't find the League positions tab but I started off at the bottom and reached the top around the 2/3 point of the season and didn't look back.

As for trophy competitions, I did fairly well. I reached the first round of the FA Cup, losing to Torquay in penalties on the replay. I reached the Final of the FA Trophy, losing on penalties and I reached the 4th round of the Setanta Shield. In all competitions I greatly exceeded the board's expectations which is good.

It's likely going to be a complete rebuilding of my squad as all my key players but one were borrowed on loan. I'm hoping I can get my great strike pair back but I'll be really lucky if i get one of them back on loan as Fonte, my leading goalscorer, is said by my Assman to be "A decent signing for a Premier Division team" and Ehui is valued at over a million

Transfers (http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i189/Roke11/Dafuge08/0809_Transfers.jpg)

Rui Fonte (http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i189/Roke11/Dafuge08/0809_RuiFonte.jpg)
Ismael Ehui (http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i189/Roke11/Dafuge08/0809_IsmaelEhui.jpg)

Heading into Blue Square Premier I'm hoping to repeat my success, building my squad by loan and get promoted while hopefully adding some decent players permanently. If I get promoted to League 2 I fully expect to get relegated back in the following season but if I can sign a couple players while in League 2 (if I get promoted this upcoming season to it), it will be a successful season.

Mangotsfield 08/09 - Update

Right, after about 4 or 5 weeks of not playing FM08, I have decided to get my first season finished.

I had made it through to the first round of the FA Cup where I faced Darlington, who were doing well in League 2 (I think!!). The good news was it had been picked to be shown on TV.

Comprehensive defeat (http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/54/darlingtondefeatvp1.jpg)

I was disappointed with my players after the game, not because they had lost but because they had played poorly.

My finances were looking good though afterwards, due to the 75k TV revenue.

Mangotsfield 08/09 - Almost middle of the season update

Approaching the middle of the season, and all was well. We were knocked out of the FA Cup at the First round proper, but other than that everything was going well.

League table after 16 games (http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/5803/leaguesofarof0.jpg)

As you can see we were top of the table by 3 points, and we had 2 games in hand.

games played so far (http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/2654/seasonsofarid4.jpg)

player stats so far (http://img341.imageshack.us/my.php?image=playerstatssofarel1.jpg)

My strikeforce of Zavon Hines and the on loan Tristan Plummer was working extremely well.

I had also just beaten Eastleigh in the 2nd round of the Setanta Shield, by a narrow margin 3-2 on a waterlogged pitch.

Eastleigh game (http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/3231/waterloggedpitchhb1.jpg)

And, just to top that off I had just been named manager of the month for December, and Tristan Plummer was named player of the month for December.

Im going into the 4th season with matlock town. This will be our 3rd season in the BSP. If i was to take over a newly promoted team into the BSN/BSS would that be breaking the rules?

Just a very quick update as i cant be bothered to make a long post on such a dissapointing season.

the good news is i managed to stay up in the premiership for my second year runniong, although for my second year running i barely scrapped through winning my 17th place on the last day of the season, and due to the performance of the other relegation battlers rather than my own.

hopefully will get some transfer funds this season so i can at least make a shot of trying to at least gain a mid table finish!

Play-Off Semi-Final 1st Leg. (http://img182.imageshack.us/my.php?image=playoff1vo1.jpg)

Meh, 1-1 was a fair enough result in the end I guess, maybe we could go to their place and sneak a 1-0 win.

Play-Off Semi-Final 2nd Leg (http://img84.imageshack.us/my.php?image=playoff2vc6.jpg)

Wow, when we took the lead I thought that we might actually win this thing, but then they scored from the spot before half time.

Then in the second half we had to withstand some intense pressure, then in the last few minutes BANG! BANG!

3-1 Bedford, we're in the Final!!!

Positions (http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/7397/12292007185639gf8.jpg)

Finished 3rd after a nervous start which saw us below midtable. Some fantastic signings saw us progress and hold on to the 3rd spot.

Cups:
FA: lost 0-3 to Grays in 1st round
Setanta Shield: lost 0-1 to Aldershot in Quarter final
FA Trophy: lost 1-2 to Kidderminster in 2nd round

Playoffs against Cambridge City:
Playoff semi 1 (http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/3403/12292007194347ms0.jpg)
Playoff semi 2 (http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/6133/12292007201313mb7.jpg)

Promotion! :-)

Best matches include:
4-1 win over Dorchester (league winners) (http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/8586/12292007191516yy6.jpg)

6-3 win over Bognor Regis (http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/8482/12292007191624gv1.jpg)

Finances are good although the wage budget sucks. I found that arranging friendlies for the reserve and u18 team against spanish teams really boosted the finances. Too bad the board cannot figure out how to convert some of that into wages.

I'm still finding it hard with Chelmsford. I've almost finished season 2016/17 and am in the Championship.

Just gone into the red having sold some decent talent in the January window to keep afloat.

3k ground - depleted team - No idea what will happen in the summer when there is no attendance income.

I just wish my chairman would leave but he loves the club!

Mid-season update:

This season (My 3rd) sees much better success than my last. At the half-way point, King's Lynn is sitting comfortable in the middle of the table (13th with 30 points), only 4 points out of the playoffs. The past several ties have seen the middle of the table spinning rapidly--as 7-12 have swapped positions with no one gaining superiority in a surge toward the top of the table. If I can manage a few wins against lower placed sides (I'm beating the top teams...and losing to the relegation bound), I just might make it to the playoffs this year.

Other competitions were poor---going out in my first outting to lowly Fisher in the FA Cup, then to Droylsden in the Setanta shield 1st round. My only cup success this year was a 5-2 thrashing of Grantham in the Trophy, getting me through to the first round proper, where I faced off at home against BSP promotion leaders Grimbsby. A thrilling and closely contested match saw me losing 3-2 --- two goals being allowed for offsides. Oh well...time to concentrate on the 2nd half...

Well Full Final Season update to come, but celebrations are spectacular in Gateshead following a final day come from behind to win the title by only 1 point. Going into the last day I was 1 point behind Kettering in the title hunt they faced Nuneaton (3rd) and I faced Hinckley (4th). If I could win and hope they drew or lost it was all on. Well the show put on by my players just blew me away. Final Score (http://img341.imageshack.us/my.php?image=finaldayuf4.jpg)

And then my fingers were crossed completely as I went looking for the final score of Ketterings game and what did I find but this. (http://img247.imageshack.us/my.php?image=finalday2ob7.jpg)

Just wanted to show my appreciation/wonder for a couple of players who give me a better chance of not getting grey hairs soon. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Tomkins (http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/9795/tomkinsof8.jpg)

He's my loanee centre back and this season i've got him for the whole season. Here's what my ass man thinks of him.

Coach report- Tomkins (http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/5126/coachtomkinsuy2.jpg)

The best part is he's averaged over 13 interceptions per game http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Up the other end of the park is the striker who's scoring almost as much as the rest of the team combined. He's had a big load after I couldn't get Sheringham on loan again.

The goal scoring frenchman (http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/5116/pierrevq1.jpg)

Billericay Coca-Cola League 2 2011-12 Season

Well 1st in main leagues was a struggle with us finishing 22nd (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/4th%20season/leaguetable.jpg) and just avoided relegation on last day of season with a 2-0 win over macclesfield which meant we stayed up and they went down heres the graph (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/4th%20season/graph.jpg) just to prove it was the last match that kept us up

at start of season tactics didnt really work but come new year my tactics started to work which was great and with the wheeling and dealing in transfer market (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/4th%20season/xfers.jpg) also gave me a squad (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/4th%20season/1stteam.jpg) that should have performed better than we did on a good note my young striker Liam Henderson (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/4th%20season/starplayer.jpg) put in some great performances in second half of the season and was player of the year

confidence (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/4th%20season/confidence.jpg) at the club is good at the moment but i could do with a board takeover as chairman doesnt think we need a parent club which is making it difficult to get players on loan but these things are set to try us on a brighter point avoided administration this season by making a profit of £266,730 (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/4th%20season/finances.jpg) and my profile (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/4th%20season/profile.jpg) looks like this

goals for next season

1) finish at least mid table
2) cup run to increase transfer funds
3) get a parent club
4) pray that stadium increase of 603 seats actually happens not capacity decrease like people have talked about when build is completed

Tiverton Town - Blue Square South - Season 2011/12

After the disappointment of relegation last season, I was hoping to bounce straight back. My main problem was the lack of quality strikers, and it took until a quarter of the way through the season for me to find a couple. Unfortunately it was a little too late to push for automatic promotion and we ended up in 2nd, play offs again.

First leg away at Havant & Waterlooville (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h160/countyfan52/FM2008/HavantWvTivertonOverview.png) was disappointing, but I was still confident of turning it around.

What happened kind of blew me away - we won the second leg 6-1 (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h160/countyfan52/FM2008/TivertonvHavantWOverview.png) and we were through to the play off final.

We played Ebbsfleet and won 2-0. (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h160/countyfan52/FM2008/EbbsfleetvTivertonOverview.png)

We were promoted back to the Blue Square Premier. (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h160/countyfan52/FM2008/BlueSquareSouthStages.png)

Top players:
Zavon Hines - ST (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h160/countyfan52/FM2008/ZavonHinesProfile.png)Scott Rendell - ST (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h160/countyfan52/FM2008/ScottRendellProfile.png)
Matthew Hazley - AML (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h160/countyfan52/FM2008/MatthewHazleyProfile.png)

I feel much more confident now about surviving in the BSP this season. Fingers crossed we can do it.

In FM07 I managed to take Blyth Spartans all the way upto the Prem with patch 7.0.1, it took a few seasons to get there, but when we finally made it that game seemed to lose its appeal for some reason...hopefully not this time round as I have experienced how frustrating it can be just to get out of the English Conference / Blue Square Prem for example...

Good luck Seasoned Alcoholic. My advice get out the FA Cup Setanta Shield early as it may gain you a few thousand but the strain it puts on the squad is not worth it. I mainly concentrated on the FA Trophy and it helped massively I believe.

Anyways, I've got 8.0.1 installed, and have followed the topic instructions from the first post, here are some details of the start I've made with Merthyr Tydfil (just finished pre-season 08/09):

I would look for another left/right winger. I think you will struggle with only 1 for each position. Otherwise good luck http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm not that bad off, only losing £80-100k per month and hopefully will be moving to the new stadium at the end of the season.

Unfortunately the bank balance has meant that for the first time my Chairman sold a player (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/grendelsale.jpg) over my head. Grendel (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/grendel.jpg) only joined in the summer for £50k + clauses. So we made a profit, but losing a player with 8 assists and 3 goals in 24 league games is a blow.
Still the board gave me 60% of his fee to buy new players and I got a replacement (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/hayes.jpg) who accordign to my ass man is better then Grendel. I'm not sure about that as he's not as creative or as good at corners.

I also used some of the money to get players in for the future.

The first beta patch had the stadium expansion issue that ended my Chippenham game, I wouldn't recommend using it for this challenge.

Thanks for the advice http://community.sigames.com/customicons/icon14.gif Yeah, I had a quick look at the rules for the Setanta shield, and the prize money for a win each round is hardly worth bothering with. I usually play the reserves and youth team in early rounds of cup competitions, so I'll probably do the same with the shield, but will probably go full strength in both the FA trophy and FA cup qualifying rounds.

Thanks, I've strengthened since posting the squad screenshot, added a new winger with excellent potential (http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/716/scotthendersonscoutrepojk5.jpg) named Scott Henderson (http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2228/scotthenderson1yp8.jpg), hopefully with experience and time he'll come good. Needed to do this really since Hadji (http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/4030/mustaphahadji1iw9.jpg) picked up a mid-term injury, but my left winger named Don Tanner (http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/5264/dontanner1kf5.jpg) is flying at the minute; watching brief highlights from the match engine has shown how he finds space easily out wide, and can run past opponents quite scarily http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Otherwise, I've also brought in Frankie Artus (http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/7377/frankieartus1mk6.jpg) from Bristol City, and Matt Green (http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/9013/mattgreen1fk6.jpg) from Cardiff, both on long-term loan deals until the end of the season. Also had a gem from my youth team as soon as I took control, Michael Butler (http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/6301/michaelbutler1lu0.jpg) attributes are very impressive for his age. I'll probably give him a mixture of skills and shooting training before he ends his youth contract and signs the pre-arranged part-time deal when he's 17.

How did you manage to sign Hadji out of interest?

With Margate I found it virtually impossible to do

Seasoned Alcoholic
30-12-2007, 14:35
I usually attain scout reports before I even consider signing anyone, but since Hadji was based abroad and with the board's limitation upon scouting, I could only approach to sign, which is what I did. He was interested in what I offered him, which was as a key player on good money compared to others already at the club. He also wanted a 2-year deal, which is what he was given, as well as the club's captaincy. I would recommend getting hold of him even if he isn't interested; try declaring your interest or telling the press you admire his ability for example.

You need to have him on trial first. and after what i have heard, its impossible.
Its against the rules to sign somebody you cannot scout or trial.

That's why I was confused, assumed the club had somehow let him come on trial... anyway I wouldn't think it's the end of the world, it's only right at the beginning.

As for Margate, we're suffering the most ridiculous case of second season blues I've ever seen, just went on a 6 match losing streak, was really bad. Currently 19th after a quarter of the season. The fans called for me to play the reserves, so that's exactly what I did. All the players on bad form got ousted in favour of their less skilled counterparts, and they battled out a 3-3 draw with Hereford, our first points in a while. Somehow I think the promotion I expected is going to be far beyond us http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Noticed on the site there's a few more smaller teams that a few people are playing as, whats the lowest rep team that has been promoted so far?

I'm still trying to properly get into a game at all on FM, went on holiday to see if Tonbridge Angels would come up. In 2010 now and have reloaded several times but they still haven't been promoted.

Two or three seasons is enough for clubs with around 850 rep to be promoted isn't it? It just might take a lot of reloads? I managed to get Tonbridge and Ramsgate promoted a few months ago when I was deciding what type of game to start on FM http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I must've missed that rule about bringing overseas players in on trial before approaching to sign them, well thanks for the heads-up regarding this. Tbh its no big deal if I'm allowed to continue the challenge or not, I could firstly do with the practice at these sort of things, and secondly will probably start a new challenge once any possibly future updates are released. Like I said, thanks for pointing these fine details out, but it really ain't the end of the world to me.

Boreham Wood 09/10 BSP- Season Review

What can I say, I'm on my winter break for another week.

Going into this season I had ambitious plans, that is, getting promoted into League 2 in the hopes of getting a few quality players next season to bolster my squad in the longterm. My board's expectations were quite different, they expected me to get relegated back to Blue Square South. As sometimes happens with two opposuing viewpoints, there is a meeting in the middle ground.

League Table (http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i189/Roke11/Dafuge08/0910_Table.jpg)

Transfers (http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i189/Roke11/Dafuge08/0910_Transfers.jpg)

The Season wasn't all roses however. I got knocked out of the 1st round of the FA Cup once again this year and didn't do anything notable other than meeting the expectations of my board in the cup competitions. Also, I was hammered, to put it lightly, in my league matches against Notts County.

Notts County League Match 1 (http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i189/Roke11/Dafuge08/0910_NoCount1.jpg)Notts County League Match 2 (http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i189/Roke11/Dafuge08/0910_NoCount2.jpg)

Onto the offseason where I need to shore up my fullbacks and my midfield, as well as have a larger pitch.

Well my game is now the return of Super Kyle, just trying to figure out where I put him in my squad, I just had a look at my last attempt at the game in 07 and I surprisingly have 4 players from that team in my team now, just by pure coincidence and such lol. Gateshead are predicted 21st in the league, I have called for a safe mid table and signed in players to make my team up all my loanees got sold by Newcastle *******.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Once upon a time in a forum not dissimilar to this, (but under a different name), a fat manager who had a strange penchant for oval balls, decided to enter into a ridiculous competition called "dafuge's challenge FM06.

He went on holiday for a year while he waited for his team to get promoted from the depths of lower league football, and on 19th June he was rewarded with the Glorious Greenness of..... Hendon.

The fat manager wasn't very good at FM, (and still isn't), so he decided to fill his team with the biggest fattest strongest blokes he could find and bully his way to the top. It worked quite well and he Hendon romped the Conference South with ease.

The only problem was that the old fat bloke that he was playng up front, (who had managed to overcome cancer in real life), (no, not that bloke), was getting really old and really slow so he had to look elsewhere for a finisher.

After a season of fruitless searching, a young striker with N.Irish origins was released on a free by Crewe and became available for fat manager to approach with a not very lucrative contract. The young N.Irish finisher jumped at the chance to play for the fat manager and soon they were inseperable.

The young striker banged in the goals and did all the work, and fat manager signed more big fat blokes to bully the opposition and give young striker more easy chances. It was partnership made in heaven.

The partnership grew and flourished in the depths of Conference National, and it wasn't too long before fat manager and young striker were Champions of all they surveyed.

League 2 proved a harder nut to crack, and although young striker kept banging in the goals, fat manager seemed to have lost his golden touch at bringing in salad dodgers to fill the rest of the team.

The club stagnated and young striker grew restless. He knew he was destined for bigger things and requested a transfer much to the dismay of fat manager. Fat manager didn't wan't him to go, but he wasn't letting some little punk run the show so he quadrupled the value of the player and sat back to wait.

Sure enough, it wasn't long before the slightly bigger, (but still not very big), clubs came knocking on fat mangers door with big old wads of cash spilling out of their pockets.

Fat manager couldn't believe his luck. He already had 1 big fat bloke up front and he had just signed some Swedish striker kid on a free, so this young upstart of a striker could go with his blessing and he would have a bank account full a cash to boot.

So off went the young N.Irish, (club record goal-scoring) http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif striker to pastures new and the fat manager runned his hands with glee at all the lovely wonga he had to spend. He could almost get an entire new team od useless fat blokes with that much cash, and still have some wedge left over for some facilities improvement.

Young striker left when the January transfer window opened and stepped up a league to ply his trade in League 1 while the fat managers Hendon team wallowed pitifully in mid table in League 2. The remainder of that season saw Hendon fire blanks for much of the time as the young Swedish striker just didn't click with whichever fat bloke it was that he was partnered with up front. Young striker on the other hand was on fire. he scored with carefree abandon and dragged his team manfully up the league and into a playoff position. Although their pursuit of promotion via the playoffs proved fruitless, the sterling work done by the young striker did not go un-noticed and he was called into the senior N.Ireland squad for the first time. (He had scored at about a goal a game for the U21's), but this was different, Now he was in with the big boys.

The following season was a season of contrast and change. Young striker broke his leg when one of his fat team-mates collided with him in training and he missed much of the season. Without him, his team plumetted from the playoff hopefulls of last season to relegation certainties of this season.

Fat managfers Hendon had gone from strength to strength to strength however and were themselves now promoton candidates, and eventually secured the step up via the playoffs. 3 weeks earier the young strikers team had been relegated, despite his return to fitness and goal-scoring ways.

This meant that as Hendon got promoted from League 2 to League 1, young strikers team were relegated from League 1 to League 2.

Fat Manager now had a bigger wage budget and a few quid to spend on new players so he chanced his arme and launched a cheeky little bid for the young striker, in an attempt to sign back his young protege for a fraction of the amount he had sold him for.

It worked like a dream and after 18 months apart, Fat manager and young striker were re-united at Hendon in the lofty climbs of league 1.

The step up was handled not so much with ease, as with goals. Young striker seemed to score every time he touched the ball and soon built quite a name for himself and his team. Supported ably by his N.Irish compatriot dead-ball specialist left back, (who had been at Hendon from day 1), they took Hendon from League 1 to the Championship, and from the Championship in to the Premiership, and from the Premiership into Europe.

The aim of the challenge was to win both the Premiership and the Champions League with a team that was not even playable when the game begun. Fat Manager had time on his hands, but time was now running out for an ageing young striker.

All this time, Young Striker was first name on the team-sheet for a N.Irealnd National team managed by some bloke with the strange name of AI. Fat Manager desperately wanted the job, but this was outlawed and he had to watch through gritted teeth as Mr AI led the N.Irish team to unheralded success for a nation so small.

The 2014 World Cup was held in *no idea* and N.Ireland somehow qualified from a group of death consisting of teams that fat manager now cannot remember. Fat manager was overjoyed for young striker and the other N.Irish players in the Hendon squad, but he was stll unable to manage them as the idiot Mr AI kept winning and that nasty Chairman Mr D A Fuge refused to let him take on an International job alongside his club job.

So the N.Ireland team travelled to the 2014 World Cup and were expected to go out in the first round without so much as a whimper. The bookies had reckoned without the form of young striker who led his nation all the way to the Final of the 2014 World Cup, scoring 7(ish) goals along the way. They would meet the Dutch, (I think), in the final.

I would love to say the they stuffed the Dutch, but the simple fact is they just weren't good enough and young striker could not carry them further.

Young striker finished as 2014 World Cup Runner up, (managed by the AI).
World Cup 2014 Top Scorer.
Selected in World Cup 2014 Dream Team.

He wasn't finished though and pushed hard for the success at club level that Fat Manager so craved over the following years.

The Premiership was won, but the Quarter Final of the Champions League was the furthest that they could manage. With an inpending hostile takeover imminent from new software company "FM07", the race was on to see if Fat Manager could complete the challenge that Chairman Mr d A Fuge had set him.

Young striker was playing with a zimmer by this stage but he was still taking penalties and notching the odd goal from open play. Fat manager had a 2nd successive Premiership in the bag with games in hand and the Semi-Final of the Champions League to look forward to. The team of Fat Blokes had tranformed over the years to an elite team of top class professionals and were sure to be a match for........ sorry, (can't remember) in the Semi's.

If this was a made up story I would be able to tell you that Hendon won the Semi and then the Final and young, (now ageing) striker came on in the last minute and scored the winning penalty. Unfortunately, it's not made up, it's true and Hendon lost in the Semi's and the hopes of a generation were dashed forever.

Fat manager took it hard and seemed unable to continue on his own. As a result, he enticed young striker, (who now had a staff profile), to come on board at Hendon as his new Ass Man. Young striker agreed and the the dynasty was complete.

Young striker scored roughly 360(ish) club goals for Hendon, (damn those 2 missed years at the beginning and the 18 months in the middle) http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif.

He scored approx 56 International goals in approx 58 International appearances, (all managed by the AI).

Some of his bigger trophies.

Premiership x2.
FA Cup x3.
League Cup.
Some Sucky Ass Cup thingy in the early years.
World Cup 2014 Runner Up.
World Cup 2014 Golden Boot.
World Cup 2014 Dream Team.

Born Kyle Wilson, to dad Phil Wilson, (now manager of Conference North side Barrow), Super Kyle was born http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

Ok that took me way too long to find that story, I knew it was around but oh well there you go the tale of Super Kyle, though I dunno how long he will last in my team. We will see at the end of this season I may train him up and sell him off. Had a terrible start to my first season in the BSP, but trying some new tactics hopefully something pays off.

I've really enjoyed reading your updates on Bradshaw, it's not that often a player like that comes along. It's gutting when a long term player like that retires, you have a really awkward patch afterwards trying to replace them where your game just doesn't feel the same.

I know you have experience in this sort of situation, Danny Roberts springs to mind. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif It just makes you savor every moment you can keep hold of these players.

I think you where lucky in the sense that Roberts went on to become Braintree manager succeeding you did he not? Now that would of been great if a similar sort of thing happened with Bradshaw in KaNovi's game.

In hes older years i couldnt keep him in the squad if i wanted to win, hes stats dropped dramaticly already at 32, ill defintly miss him, but i was sure he would stay as coach, but no http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
Although i hear from him sometimes when im playing big matches, where he pintpoints the threads http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

My team that won the Conf South and the FA Trophy were basically Fulham U18's/Reserves and a few Palace Reserves.

I don't know if I should take credit for such things.

That was one of the reasons I stopped playing the challenge.

I couldn't compete with some of the other teams in the league that were doing it, but didn't want to do it myself.

Other people doing the challenge have decided to not take advantage of the unrealistic loand but instead have taken to signing Islanders and doing it that way.

It's not for me but you might prefer that.

I find my best tactic by looking at players, I play a system to fit them. If I have good passers I play a short passing game, if I don't I play direct football. My tempo is also decided by the fitness of my players.

I have my own created tactic, it worked through the BSN, now trying to change it slightly with the loss off the loan players I had which Newcastle dumped even though they starred for me, and they wouldn't sign either, oh well I will keep working through and try to avoid relegation though a bit worried bout having told my board I would come safe mid table.

Oh no!!!!!!!

I'm currently sitting 6th w/ 53 points, 9 matches yet to play...and my top goal-score Pierre Joseph-Dubois goes down for 4-6 months with a broken leg... http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Joseph-Dubois has had another stormer of a season, netting 21 times in all competitions (17 in 28(2) league appearances, 4 times in 4 cup appearances). Overall, has has scored 42 times (and added 15 assists) since joining King's Lynn in the December of 2008.

He'll be sorely missed---here's hoping my loanee's and other permanent young strikers can step up in the run-in to the playoffs....

Joseph-Dubois is also easily my best striker but like you, had to go without him for long periods due to injury http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
He has scored 16 league goals in 18(2) appearances so is sorely missed.

why is it that some of the toughest teams, are the grey ones? I am really struggling with those small clubs in the cups.

How did you gt so much money?

well i got so much money by only using half my wage budget and having a decent sized stadium which i filled at least a 3rd of for each game and for going on good cup runs, against some decent sides.

i'll get some screenshots later, after dinner.

CatfishJack - Chelmsford City - 12/13 League Two - Season Review

Despite a good performance last season, no-one expected us to make a successful step up to league football - predicted finish of 24th!

The summer saw a clear-out of some deadwood from the earlier non-league days, and the return of some previous loan signings on frees or repeat loans. Although the squad remained quite settled, it lacked strength in depth.

The season started steadily, as had been hoped with a settled squad, and a couple of good runs in the autumn (12 unbeaten, including 8 straight wins, in league and cups) saw us rise into the play-off places. However we drew too many games over Christmas, and threatened to fall off the pace, as cup games took their toll on the players - the cup runs included a win at top of League One Palace in the JPT on the way to the regional semi-finals, and a trip to runaway Championship leaders S'oton in the FAC3R. These trips helped boost the coffers (http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee295/ehren14/finances1213.jpg) to over £2m.

The strength-in-depth issue was addressed over the January transfer window, with the arrival of some quality in the midfield, and further improvements up-front - Mark Jackson (http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee295/ehren14/jacksonprofile1213.jpg). Not much was spent, with much more being recouped from the sale of a surplus striker, but the wage budget had to be increased, albeit much of this was due to the club turning pro and young players wanting improved contracts.

Transfers (http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee295/ehren14/transfers1213.jpg)

The squad (http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee295/ehren14/squad1213.jpg) began to turn in some better results, although not on a consistent enough basis to seriously threaten the top 3, and we qualified for the play-offs in 6th. Progress (http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee295/ehren14/progress1213.jpg) We headed into the play-offs as a team in form, scraped past Orient with a late goal in the away leg proving the difference in a 3-2 aggregate (2-0 home, 1-2 away). Against Brentford at Wembley we trailed 1-0 at the interval, but second-half goals from star striker Lewis Smith (http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee295/ehren14/smithprofile1213.jpg) and club captain Scott Wagstaff (http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee295/ehren14/wagstaffprofile1213.jpg) got us the win in an even game, and promotion!

Final League 2 Table (http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee295/ehren14/table1213.jpg)

The board (http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee295/ehren14/confidence1213.jpg) are delighted, but we're likely to struggle next season, especially with a stadium that still holds only 3000. The current squad (average age still only 21!) are all likely to stay, but the key will be to pick up some good loans, maybe from Premier League teams. Our affiliation with Colchester is likely to end, as they will also be in L1 next year. Strength-in-depth was amply illustrated as both the reserves and U18s went on late-season win-streaks to finish 8th and 2nd respectively.

Full-back Dalhouse has been with City since BS South days, as has Wagstaff.

Wagstaff's history (http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee295/ehren14/wagstaffhistory1213.jpg)

Lewis Smith is closing in on Wagstaff's scoring record (the striker has switched out to the right wing, where he is equally effective) - Smith history (http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee295/ehren14/smithhistory1213.jpg)

Kurt Robinson (http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee295/ehren14/robinsonprofile1213.jpg) is another loyal servant to the club, and narrowly holds the appearance record - Robinson history (http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee295/ehren14/robinsonhistory1213.jpg)

Final Position - 6th in League Two (Promoted via play-offs)

FA Cup - 3rd round (beat L2 Port Vale and L1 Walsall on TV, before loss at S'oton)
League Cup - 1st round (lost 2-3 at Cardiff)
JP Trophy - South Semi-finals (beat Gillingham, Palace away, lost to L1 winners Swindon)

Manager Awards 2nd in Manager of Year

Player Awards
Several monthly individual awards, resulting in Moses Barnett (2nd year loanee centre-back) and Scott Wagstaff making the League 2 Select (http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee295/ehren14/l2XI1213.jpg)

Matthew Smith - Tiverton Town - 2011/2012

League 1 started off bad, not getting a win in first 5 games. But then the star striker returned from injury and pushed the team forward, becoming the clubs all time top goalscorer in the process. We pushed forward and into the playoff spots by midseason.

The cups didn't go well, but because of the boards low expectations, there was no disappointment from our bad performances.

In the 2nd half of the season, we made an almighty push, with Scotsman Robert Malcolm leading the team up the league even more. By the end of the season, we had yet again beat the odds and finished in 2nd place.

Championship here we come! http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The club has announced a stadium expansion and while it takes place we have moved into Exeters St James's Park. The club also took a 2.6 million loan to allow me to spend next year.

This season will be had though, with a very poor defence for this standard.

Star man yet again was Ashley Barnes, who has played 171 games, scoring 163 goals for us

Margate - 3rd Season Update

The season started off as an absolute nightmare, slipped down the table, faced real problems. However, the fans got restless, I dropped the entire first team and the reserves fought to a 3-3 draw. That kick-started the team and we did okay since then, rising to a final 8th place finish.

We signed MacDonald at the beginning of the season, he seems like an excellent prospect, and then later on Jahson Downes became available. I wasn't really sure, we've had a lot of average strikers in the reserves, but he didn't want high wages so I thought what the hell, and he's turned out to be a fantastic buy.

In other news, Viktor Illugason scored his 100th goal for The Gate after 3 seasons on loan. He has both Margate and myself listed as favourites of his, but somehow I think next season we'll struggle to get him on loan again. Xavier Barrau got worse in terms of stats, but somehow managed to be one of the top performers, and won Fans' Player of the Season for the second season in a row.

Oh and I'm about to murder Mark Bloxam. He took the new record for 'Defender with least ability to avoid hacking down opposition players inside own box'. We're lucky he didn't cost us more matches with his ridiculous defending tactics.

Bought in 3 new kids on frees this summer, all former premier league youths after scouting probably 30 of them.

Main note is that they're valued at £130k, 110k and 95k respectively where as the previous highest player was valued at £35k (main striker) so even if they don't become 1st team regulars I should be able to make a decent profit later on. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

That has happened to me but on the challenge, don't take the captaincy off him because he then hates you and won't accept a new contract and when it happened to me no one would buy him. So I had to wait for his contract to run out losing out on money.

Just started this challenge signed up to the website and that.

Got Halesowen on me 4th reload so not too long to wait...

You get Kidderminster as a Parent club but they won't let me loan anyone from them so that's useless...

Brought in 7 playaers which i will post a screenshot of the season review...

2-2 against Kidderminster (Friendly)
3-3 against Fisher (Friendly)
2-0 Win against Stourport (Friendly)

2-1 Win against Hucknall (BSP)

It's player and club loyalty - do you regularly switch your starting line-up around, do you keep players long? My squad is pretty settled, most players make over 100 appearances, but I still don't get a high rating there. Maybe it's using loanees that affects it.

Do you get your assman to do team-talks? (low hands-on score)

I'm impressed you've been given wages that large - I'm in L1 and my new contract is only £775 p/w.

think you have just sussed it for me

i get my assistant doing all team talks and every season i bring in new players to replace the others. i think only 5 or 6 players have made over 100 appearances

That happened with a keeper a few seasons ago. He even asked to go onto the transfer list and even though at the time I didn't want him to go I accepted to try to keep him happy.

He asked to come off the transfer list a few months later when we were top of the league.

As an extra to this, because of the low bonus level my captain and 5 of my other players all have very poor morale and I can't seem to do anything to bring them out of it. Our last couple of friendlies were 7-0 and 9-0 (normally morale boosters) and nothing. Nor do they seem to respond to manager interaction.

If anyone can give some hints as to what i should do that would be great. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

I suspect that you won't easily be able to improve their morale through normal means.
Perhaps offering them improved contracts (if they sign them) might work.

But I'd expect them to reject contracts out of hand. You might have to sell them for as much money as possible and then try to build enough of a squad to keep you in the league.

Season 2016/17 Review - Prescot Cables in The Championship

After just missing out on the playoffs last season, I was hopeful of making it this time.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league13517.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos13517.jpg)

Had a great season, often pushing the top two for the automatic spots. I should have finished 3rd but in my final game against Chesterfield I had two players sent off and then gave away a penalty in the 94th minute. It was a shame for me, but it actually saved them from relegation and relegated Burnley.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad13517.jpg)
Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers13517.jpg)

Had to sell a few players to keep myself afloat, which was a shame, but I managed to keep the backbone of my team together.

Star Player (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/taylor13517.jpg)

It's him, yet again. He signed a new contract which was great news, hopefully I can keep him here for his whole career.

I'm facing Bolton in the playoff semi, which I'm not looking forward to since the two players who got sent off were my only two right wingers, Bolton are also one of the form teams in the league.

They happily took the extra money, didn't improve morale though...oh well, might just leave them out of the side and rest of team is happy and then introduce them 1 at a time.

You are allowed to sign anyone you can scout. And the other way is to get them in on trial and thats ok too. For proof generally getting a scout report on the player is enough. Otherwise the best way to do it is show a screen showing them on trial. Either is acceptable. There are no worries for english players it is just overseas players you have worries with.

Witton Albion - League 1 - 13/14 - Rodrigo De La Vega

First season in L1 and I was expecting it to be a hard slog. We started picking up points here and there but not in a very consistant way. Mid way through things started to pick up and the team started to hit some sort of stride. With one game to go we were in a playoff spot but we lost it in the last game.
Table (http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s121/peljam/Witton/table-1.jpg)
Graph (http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s121/peljam/Witton/graph.jpg)
Glad that we missed out on the play offs in a way. We aren't ready for the Championship, in term of players and money. The team (http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s121/peljam/Witton/team14.jpg) needs another season to gel together properly and next season all the gate reciepts from the new stadium should wipe out the half mil of debt. 65k of loan payments a month soon added up.

Anyways, the best players on the season are a toss up between Anson (http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s121/peljam/Witton/Anson14.jpg) and on loan Eccleston (http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s121/peljam/Witton/Eccleston.jpg).

And I managed to pick up this guy (http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s121/peljam/Witton/Helio.jpg) who hopefully should either become quite the player or bring some cash in.

So the plan for next season, I need to get a couple of decent players on loan to improve the depth in the team.

Yes, the losing team in the CCC playoff receives all the gate money as the winning team gets the 15m or so TV money from the Premiership. It is supposed to soften the blow so to speak

Even if you do get relegated, surely you'd get a healthy cash boost from the Premiership TV rights, and a nice parachute payment as well. You'd think that it would give you the chance to pay for a half decent stadium, assuming all the cash doesn't go on wages?

Chelseadaft Tiverton Town BS South 08/09

PROMOTED !!

Yep Ive done it in the first season, just missed out on the title but won the Playoff Final (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/chelseadaft/Season1/final.jpg) . A major help for me this season was the fact that i had Plymouth as a Parent club, here is my Squad (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/chelseadaft/Season1/Squad.jpg) , and also details of my Transfers (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/chelseadaft/Season1/Transfers.jpg) this season.

Two players from Plymouth stood out they were Barnes (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/chelseadaft/Season1/Barnes.jpg) and Moult (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/chelseadaft/Season1/Moult.jpg) they really were class for me in the first season.

Really pleased as just kept the instructions simple and let the pace in the side do the rest.

Well pleased! A few more screenies for you:

Carshalton 08/09

Well my first season in the BSS didn't go as well as hoped, although I did manage to stay afloat finishing mid-table(12th). Our defense needs to be the first order of business as we shipped 80 goals over the course of the season.
Here are some screens for you:

Looks like that win against Pompey has helped my form, up to 12th now.

Hello all, havent been playing (or on here) for some time - will do a half season update in a bit when I have played my 3rd round FA Cup game.....

Anyway reason for quoting the above - Kanovi, did Bradshaw have any prefered moves? As others have mentioned whilst his attributes were good they were not quite world class but his record was. I think the prefered moves seem to play an important role in attackers sucess (or failure) in FM08. Anyone agree??

Season 3

Finished 22nd in Blue Square Premier

well techniqually i didn't finish 22nd, i left after 10 games. We had just 1 point, no decent players, just loanees. 500k in the red. And after 790 days at Billericay, i coudnt handle the constant losses we where getting.
If it was any consalation my assistant manager and coach both left, saying they would only work with me http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif . But my part in this challenge is well and truly over.

Billericay Coca- Cola League 2 2012-13 Season

well what a season for ricay fans we only finished 18th (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/5th%20season/leaguetable.jpg) but with an average of 4.5 goals a match the fans certainly got value for money but it was more of a down season with us not getting higher than 16th (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/5th%20season/graph.jpg) after the league worked itself out after first few games

but with the few transfers (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/5th%20season/xfers.jpg) done ithought we had a team capable of finishing in top half but defence was a problem hence 4.5 goals a game average

the team looked like this (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/5th%20season/1stteam.jpg) and once again this season our star player was Liam Henderson (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/5th%20season/starplayer.jpg)

boards confidence (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/5th%20season/confidence.jpg) with what i am doing with club is looking good and finances (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/5th%20season/finances.jpg) are also looking good with the board having already approved 2 ground increases one part way thru last season and another they has just being built during closed season this will increase capacity to about 4800 capacity from an original figure of 3700 when i took over at club

and profile (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/5th%20season/profile.jpg) looks like this

goals for next season

1) avoid relegation
2) improve defensive side of squad
3) have a cup run
4) need to work on hands on approach to improve my profile

Aario - Halesowen Town - BSP - 3rd Season (2010-11) - Mid Season Update

Hi again all, as I mentioned above havent had the chance to play or post on here for some time.

So, congrats to all doing well and here is a quick update on my (very slow) progress. In January in my 3rd season (second in the BSP). League is looking much better than last season - currently in 8th but only 4 points off the playoffs - now have teams in the Reserve and U18 leagues so my large squad (still cannot stop myself from buying players I don't really need!!) is proving more useful - have made a bit of cash from selling players (only bought people on frees so far) and prize money - still in the FA Trophy and reached the second tound of the SS. But the real money has come again from the FA Cup. For the second season I have had good luck with the draw and reached the 3rd round by not having to play a team from any of the higher leagues. Last season the gate money from a 3rd round loose at Blackburn (still prem) probably saved my job. This season was still over 100K in the red but have just moved to over 300K in the black thanks to over 40,000 people turning up to watch us get thrashed (at least we managed to get a couple (http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/3208/facupoverviewav2.png)) at Man City (also still prem).

So, have been very lucky with draws in the FA Cup and after last season probably saving my job hopefully this season we can push on and get in the playoffs with the bank balance looking healthy at last http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thought I would show you the player ratings from the Man City game - City's Mattock will probably not be too happy about his! (http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/4199/ratingswu1.png)

Season 2017/18 Review - Prescot Cables in the Premier League

After my playoff win, I was expecting a relegation battle. The media predicted me to come last, I just wanted to stay in the league.

League Table (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/league14518.jpg)
League Positions Graph (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/leaguepos14518.jpg)

Had a tough start to the season but managed to improve, eventually finishing in a decent 12th place.

Squad (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/squad14518.jpg)
Transfers (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/transfers14518.jpg)

Had a bit of a nightmare in the transfer market after getting the excitement of no scouting restrictions and a work permit feeder club. The result was a load of amazing players without work permit who ended up rotting in my reserves. I was able to sell one for a profit of around £5m which was nice. The signing of Julien Noyer for £4k was inspired as he went on to win the PFA young player of the year in his debut season.

Star Player (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y134/dafuge/williams14518.jpg)

Quite surprised by this one, I was expecting to have to replace him but he really proved himself at this level.

Your resolution needs to be higher than 1024 x 768, then you go to the display options in FM and untick windowed mode.

I use it (although it doesn't show it in the screenshot) as the game looks a lot better on my resolution. Doesn't look sharp in full screen mode.

I use windowed mode. It allows me to do other stuff while playing fm. Look in settings. There is an option there.

Rubbish name though http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

It's a regulation name isn't it??

The game engine can't think of another name as they dont't know much about the club.

Dosen't matter about the name that much though as long as you fill it. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I was hoping they would name it after me since I had been top of their favoured personnel for ages. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

do you think that would ever happen on fm? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
ive got 2 stadiums named after me in the other dafuge challenges with gateshead

Only a year until you move in, with a very impressive capacity.

My Hitchin side should be moving into the new 14225 seater stadium in a little over 1 game month \0/

Is it allowed to set up a biggish European club in the first friendly at the new stadium?
I usually let the ass man do that job but I's like to christed it with a big game first.

Once again my team surpasses my expectations! I was hoping that maybe we would just sneak into the top half with a bit of luck, but a late season revival threw us into the play-offs! Unfortunately we were hammered 4-0 at home in the first leg, resulting in a lot of fines for poor performances, and were unable to recover and reach our second final of the year.

But for once, we made our presence felt in the cup competitions. We reached the Third round of the FA Cup, managing to force a replay with Hull, which made us a huge financial gain. But the biggest success has to be THIS!!! (http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/1322/spainttrophyfinalvx5.jpg). I was absolutely amazed by our performances - especially in the South Final where we lost 4-3 Away to Southend in the first leg but managed to win the home leg 3-1 thanks to 2 late goals from skipper Obeng and my superstar chocolate bar Bueno!

To be honest, I'm not too disappointed by not being promoted this year as I think it would have been a very painful season in the Championship. The major aim now is to build on this in the next two seasons and hopefully end up promoted in either of the next 2 seasons. Hopefully I can get some more money-spinning cup ties as well as all these win bonuses are crippling my finances!

I know what you mean. Mine is the inventively named Witton Stadium. Though I'm only in 2014 and L1. I though you, in the prem and managing for longer might at least get a better name, even if it's not named after you.

Hitchin - Championship 2013/2014

After getting promoted last season I really expected a struggle to survive in the league. Thanks to the cup run we had in the previous season we had a large bank balance to help us survive financially.

As the table shows (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/table2013-14.jpg) we ended up a respectable 11th. We were never really troubled (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/graph2013-14.jpg) with relegation or even a playoff spot, although at one point we were 1 win off the last playoff spot near the end of the season.

Transfers (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/transfers2013-14.jpg) - the main thing to note here is signing Grendel for £50k and the chairman sellign him for £800K in the January transfer window. I suspect that we may have pushed for a playoff spot if Grendel stayed.
I have also signed a number of players with a lot of potential.

Lee Graham (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/leegraham2013-14.jpg) played a lot more then I wanted him to, mainly due to injuries and not enough central midfielders good enough.
Lee Cash (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/leecash2013-14.jpg) should be taking over at left back permanently sooner or later. He did well in the 4 league games I played him in.

Neil Beasley (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/beasley2013-14.jpg) has a lot of potential and can play right back or on the right wing.

Gentian Alikaj (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/alikaj2013-14.jpg) was a recommendation (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/alikajrecommendation.jpg) from my Albanian striker. I got him in on trial (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/alikajtrial.jpg) but at that time couldn't afford to buy him.
He did well in most of his first team games. I might chance sending him out on loan next season as he seems to have settled well.

Squad (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/squad2013-14.jpg)
I had 2 players get over 20 goals this season.
The only real outstanding players were Grendel before he was sold and Guy Nicholls. Jonathan Hayes did pretty well when he joined, but I want more from him next season.

Next season aims:
1. Settle into the new 14225 seater stadium.
2. Get out of debt (much easier since the £1.1M payout for finishing 11th in the league)
3. Get at least 1 new central defender. The problem is in my game a quality DC is hard to find. I've got Mikele Leigertwood joining in July and I may ahve to play him in central defence.
4. Get a few more players with potential at the club and try to bring more of them into the first team.
5. Keep my first choice keeper and left winger, both have made noises at the end of the season that they want to move to a bigger club. If they do go I have replacements aleady in place (or will be by next season)

14k? very swish http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

My first friendly in my 10k was against Chartlon. Only had 400 seats free!

And the first home league game brought in a record breaking 120k gate! My debt worries are over for now!

Am so jealous of you getting a new ground. The next time I do this challenge I'll go as someone like Gateshead, or next year as FC United if it's possible)

Still stuck with my 3k stadium with no toilets, no grass (just mud) and wooden seats.

Just had my best result of the challenge, in the Carling Cup 2nd Round in our first season in League Two.

What happened? We travelled up to Premiership side Everton, and came away with a remarkable 1-0 win to take us into the 3rd round http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif.

So far we've shocked Championship Brentford and Premiership Everton, who's next? Championship West Brom.

Though I'm fairly certain we'll be out this round, our luck has to end at some point.

I've arranged a friendly with Málaga CF.
Not the biggest European club, but the biggest club I've played in a final. Apparently I'll make £160K from it, just to keep it realistic I agreed to pay Málaga £50K for the friendly.
£110K profit, that's one months loan payment taken care of.

Aside from that I stuck with my ass man's friendly arrangements.

The debt has now dissapeared because of the Championship TV money and the 3500 season tickets sold so far.
But I have no transfer budget (except what I raise from player sales) so I'm not expecting too many purchases. I do have some wage budget left, so I may juggle that around and see what transfer kitty I can get.
I do need some more new players as the board are expecting a top half finish this season and that could be hard to achieve if the board sell any more players over my head.

I think that I have now got a bug in my game.
I sent a young midfielder to Bournemouth on loan and for some reason he never returned and I couldn't recall him even though the loan deal did have a recall clause. The board accepted a bid of £100k for him over my head and he's now joined Sheffield Utd, but now appears in my first team screen as a squad player and the Blade's squad as well.
He was lacking physically, but technically he had some good attributes.

Thhis should be a game killer, but is pretty annoying.
