It is, by far. The expanded stadium should be around 10,000.

Nice, that will be good for the finances.

My stadium should be just over 17,000 by next month.

My season is also looking up following wins over Man Utd and Liverpool.

What divisiona and how much roughly in the bank do you need for the board to consider giving you an expansion.

I am halfway through my first season in League 1, and am having an average crowd of 4694 out of a max of 5000. It is also an average that is 200 higher than my last season, and I sold over 3000 season tickets.

Think I need an expansion but dont want to bother the board if there is no chance of getting one.

Without wanting to trawl through all 53 pages, is anyone else suffering heavily from high scoring matches. Just beat Lewes 10-0 away on the opening day in the Blue Square Premier. Whilst an awesome result, I can't help but feel the game is flawed if that isn't some kind of bug?

End of 2008/2009 Season Blue Square North

League Table (http://img219.imageshack.us/my.php?image=leaguetablekw7.png)

I managed to finish 2nd with Bedford Town and gain promotion via the Playoffs.

After a shaky start to the season, largely due to trying out different tactics i finally hit into gear Mid October and was able to keep it going until April where i had a bit of a blip. Fortunately i had a couple of easier fixtures before the Playoffs helping me to get confidence levels up. I also managed to avoid Hednesford in the Playoffs who had been a bit of a bogey time for me knocking me out of 2 cups and beating me twice in the league. Hinckley won the league at a canter only losing twice all season, one of which was a 3-0 away loss to me, my best result of the season, ending there unbeaten 25 match start. The cup competitions were a bit of a disaster, suffering a 5-0 home defeat to Forest Green in the 2nd Qualifying round of the FA Cup. Hopefully that will stay my record defeat. The most worrying time was after a board takeover, 3rd in the league but the chairman was keen to bring in a new manager. Luckily a 4-0 win the following game against the bottom side helped keep my job.

Squad (http://img232.imageshack.us/my.php?image=squadcx6.png)

My star player was ex Liverpool striker Jonathan Pringle, who finished top scorer in the league and formed a lethal partnership with Kyle Wilson, whilst my left winger Frimpong, ex Arsenal, was the leading assist holder in the league.

I probably have 4 or 5 players that could be useful in the Blue Sqaure Premier, but the rest need to replaced. Not too condfident about successive promotions but hopeully i can be around the Playoff positions next season.

Yea, the Blue Square leagues seem to be very high scoring. It seems to calm down a bit in League Two...

Another excellent season, with basically the same squad from last season. Got in a new left winger and a good centre-back, and loaned a nice attacking midfielder from Chelsea who played well all season.

Got to the playoff finals after finishing 5th in the league, but lost 3-2 to Coventry after extra time http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif. I'm now 0/3 for playoffs so far in this challenge... http://community.sigames.com/customicons/icon13.gif

Stamford - League 1 - 2023/24 End of Season Update

After a promotion last season with a squad I knew wasnt really good enough for league one, a lot of changes happened in the summer. Going into the start of the season I still wasnt happy with the quality of players in the squad, but at least its getting easier to loan players.

A rocky start to the season followed by a bad patch of form, lead me expecting we would match all predictions and get relegated. However we found some form and figured out how to win in the second half of the season and finished up a respectable 16th place.

Our average attendance was just 200 less than capacity so I'm hoping I can persuade the board for a stadium expansion as I have one of the smallest stadia in the division.

Aims for the next season:

Stay in league 1 and any improvements would be better.
I expect another relegation battle, unless I can get in some top quality players

Well, what a difference player instructions make. This is the first time I've actually bothered to tailor player instructions to individual players for every match. The results so far have been staggering. I should add, that I am essentially the Crystal Palace C team, loaning most of their players. Maybe not good for the long term, but if I can get into the Blue Square Premier, I might actually be able to sign players.

League form as been fantastic, with my club stats (http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/4932/picture4od6.png) looking awesome, almost averaging three goals a game. Only two teams have been top of the league (http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/3794/picture5yj9.png). I've been on the rampage in the cups, all except the FA Cup, where I've beaten all the (in my opinion unrealistic) aims of the board. Most pleasing was putting 2nd place Havant & Waterlooville out of the Setanta Shield at Havant.

Player of the season so far is Victor Moses (http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/8859/picture6pp0.png) on loan from, inevitably, Crystal Palace, notching up 28 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions.

Needless to say I'm enjoying my second attempt at the challenge on FM08 a lot more than I did with Margate. My success is reflected by the happiness of the board and their current confidence (http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/7066/picture7dm1.png) in me.

I to am AFC Wimbledon and have victor moses he has scroed about the same for me, 27 now and its january, only have 3 loans from palace tho http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Gloucester City Tigers Last 4 games

With only 3 points separating the top 3 sides in LL2, things are setting up for a climatic finish as Rotherham travel to Gloucester City in what must be the clash for automatic promotion spot. Neither team will want to lose this match, a win today for either side would guarantee them a finish in the top 3.

Gloucester City Tigers have had quite a season, after starting out with a 22 match unbeaten run, the preseason relegation favourites made eyes turn when they sat astride the top of the league. Late in January things went very wrong with the season, as they struggled to find the back of the net, needing 2 games to find a goal. At least their defense held shape, and it was only their determination not to concede that did not see them plummet down. Instead they dropped to 5th spot momentarily. Riddled with injury they somehow managed to survive a 6 game winless streak by coming back from a goal behind to Northampton to win that match 4-1.

A new attacking spirit underpinned their desire to find the net more. They continued to entertain their legion of fans with 5-5 scorelines and 4 nil trashings. They've now won 5 of the last 7 matches and find themselves in an automatic playoff spot.

Aldershot have turned a disappointing season into one to be remembered. Sitting at the bottom of the table after the first month, they've rattled off an amazing string of 14 wins to become another side breathing down the Tigers. Gloucester fans are glad they don't need to play Aldershot again.

For now the attention turns to the New Lawn, at Forest Green for the table top clash. Both sides the best attack in the league...will this game produce another highscoring game?

After all that drama...we performed like wimps..we had a paltry 30% possession in the first half...and went down by a goal.

I made changes during the break and at least we managed to get an equaliser with 2 mins on the clock. The season is almost done...all we need now is 1 point to guarantee promotion. Looks like Gloucester, Rotherham and Aldershot...are going to be the ones going up.......

Gloucester City Tigers Update

The Tigers continue their merry romp this time they're in League One..the premiership isn't too far away is it?
Well we're amongst some illustrious company..we've been made 70-1 favourites for the drop..and will have to square off against Bradford, Hartlepool and Norwich who are the favorites, not forgetting Millwall and Swansea as well..and did I forget to mention Southampton.

The days of playing beside Ebbsfleet are long gone. During the summer I cleared out my team..17 players walked out of the door for a total of 375k. Amongst them Captain Fantastic Plummer and his Vice Captain..both of whom were central to our drive up and will always be remembered fondly by the fans. The vice-captain was unhappy and wanted more challenges, as if the Dafuge challenge wasn't enough. Having offended Dafuge I promptly accepted ANY offer for him. My captain on the hand filled our coffers with 300k. The coaches were of the opinion that he was already playing at peak potential, I also felt my new formation was now built for speed and destruction, neither attributes were his strengths. Yes there is a hidden attribute called destruction, look under D section 6 part 6 line 6 of the manual.

Well 300k in the bank, and my board give me 30k in wages..after juggling things around I discovered I could have as much as 800k in transfer spending; well I didn't take that route, having my lesson in BSS, I decided to use 200K+300k...in the end I've only spent 75k...and have brought in 10 players. 2 new keepers..2 strikers 2 wingers and 2 defenders. A pace injection is needed in the team. We're woefully slow.

As usual I didn't bother much with preseason, leaving that in the handles of little john, who won 1 out of 5. Our opening match was against Brentford, which we dominated and won 2-1; we then travelled to Watford (Championship) for our League Cup tie which we narrowly lost 2-1 and then went on to hammer Walsall 3-1.

We haven't played a home game yet and the fans should be eager to see the new strikeforce that's been assembled.

League Table after 2 matches as if any would be interested (http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/6973/capture16112007160909zz6.jpg)

heybridge swifts 2016-17 mini update

fantastic season from swifts as team took on board last seasons experiences and new 4321 formation to new level, despite losing star striker Park for 500k +20% future.

Anyway not concentrating on cup runs was key as lost in 4th qual of fa cup and 3rd round of Vase, but then the silly idiots defended the Setanta Shield providing more celebrations amongst the fans.

Still back to serious matters with 2 games to go team had fallen to 5th and faced 6th placed Billericay in penultamate game of season a 3-2 victory secured play off place, but no chance of title and the goal of promotion. Here's table at end of season, as you can see really close thing was nip and tuck the whole way!

When we scored with 10 men in 92nd minute of 4 minutes i thought we'd done it. A somewhat disappointing ending to the season, after being in-and-around the playoff spots for long periods. Had a run of 13 games unbeaten near the end of the season, and with 10 games left to play it looked like I might be able to attain automatic promotion. Alas, my players decided to play like garbage for the final 10 matches. Didn't have any notable cup runs either.

Going to get rid of a couple of players during the pre-season, and hopefully bring in a few new first team players. I have a transfer budget for the first time (£1.7m), so I'll be spending a good chunk of that.

After reading on here a few times about the attendances bug, and how they average about 1500 when you get an expansion has happened to me.

It was one of those things i thought 'nah, wont happen to me. jus some other misfortunate souls.'

I am in season 5 with Billericay, and really enjoying. Built up a great young squad and am sitting 3rd just after xmas in Lg 2.

Board Expand stadium. Completes on the 31st Dec. First game home to Col U, att 4950. Brilliant, hasnt happened to me. Next 3 games average 1500, a level i havent experience since BSS.

Words cannot describe how angry i am! Feels like ive wasted a load of my time.

Also, The Patch is included in my game. It has been installed before i even started this save.

Please dear god tell me there is something i can do. Help meeeeeeee! Please!

Please!

Have a look in the information page for your team, what is your stadium capacity?

Exactly the same thing happened to me.

It was fixed with the updated version of the beta patch, but this was too late for me. This is the reason I am waiting for the full patch before starting a new game.

i thought starting it with the new patch would elimate the danger!
Obviously Not!
Have you tried playing on with the small stadium and seeing what happens? Maybe if i get promoted they will expand the stadium again?
Or do u reckon the same thing will happen.
Its so frustrating. Do you know who i can email in regards to a little complaint?
It is such a big bug for a game to have!
Sorry to keep going on at you, im at my wits end!

My board only added around 300 seats, which meant I lost a lot of money which meant my chairman sold off my best two players.

If this has happened with the updated beta patch I would report it in the bugs forum asap.

Glad to see someone on the right end of extra injury time. I have lost far too many matches to last minute goals scored after injury time should have finished.

Bedford Town - Blue Square Premier - 2012/13

well, it was another sucky season in the BSP. i'm honestly starting to think this is as high as i'm ever going to go. just a mediocre bottom half of the table club, until my luck runs out and i go down.

i thought this was going to be over this season, but as the graph shows i threw together some performances in the final third and saved it.

finished in 17th (http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l254/migwar/dafuge/dafuge1213/league.jpg)

the dismal graph (http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l254/migwar/dafuge/dafuge1213/leaguegraph.jpg)

the team stats (http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l254/migwar/dafuge/dafuge1213/teamstats.jpg)

as you can see from the above, i owe every success i've had to Andy Caton (http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l254/migwar/dafuge/dafuge1213/caton.jpg).

He's the only survivor of my original team, his name fills the records screen and he's been fan's player of the year for all of the 5 years i've played.

plans for the next season?

avoid the drop, again. i'm expecting another tough year. i've been selling off my average players as offers come in to keep the books balanced, and bringing in other players of a similar standard on a free, but i'm not really progressing...

mid season update 2013/14

as expected we're just hanging around the relegation area, just keeping our noses out of it at the moment...

but i just had to post this! (http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l254/migwar/dafuge/dafuge1213/ohmygod.jpg)

incredible. they're 3rd in league 1, i'm 18th in BSP, and my reward is a trip to championship bradford.

this has done wonders for my bank balance http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well done on the Japanese feeder.

Really wish theere was a sack board option. I'm in 2025, and still they cant see the point of any sort of affiliates, think our basic training and youth facilities are acceptable, and we cant afford any sort of expansion to our 5000 capactity stadium (250 seated).

Since its my second season in league 1, I wish my board would start taking my requests seriously.

Of course now the game has decided to spite me by injuring my three remaining first choice defenders (fourth one was sold by my chairman) with just four games to go whilst I try and cling onto first place and promotion out of the Blue Square North.

Played two with Billaricay (finally learn't how to spell it) it's looking good considering i've played the teams predicted 2 and 5, first match was a gutter, 3-2 defeat, all their goals were identical, crosses met by the head, with no challenge from my defence, brough in a defender with good heading stats though, i got a shock 2-1 win against promotion favorites Havent and Waterlooville, thanks to a late goal on the break. I don't think it will be a first season promotion, but once my players mature and go through my strict training, we should be getting up with the big boys.

Gloucester City - League One - 2013/2014 - End of Season update

League Table (http://s226.photobucket.com/albums/dd37/dagurol/?action=view&current=league.jpg)

We started the season very slowly but go on track around Christmas and were always around the playoffs.

Playoff Semi Final Leg 1 (http://s226.photobucket.com/albums/dd37/dagurol/?action=view&current=playoff1.jpg)

Playoff Semi Final Leg 2 (http://s226.photobucket.com/albums/dd37/dagurol/?action=view&current=playoff2.jpg)

Not to convincing but we had it in the end, my two forwards, who have come on leaps and bounds this season, played brilliantly as usual and won us the game.

Playoff Final (http://s226.photobucket.com/albums/dd37/dagurol/?action=view&current=final.jpg)

Not much to say really, just really convincing and never in danger of loosing.

Danny Ward (http://s226.photobucket.com/albums/dd37/dagurol/?action=view&current=ward.jpg)

Seb Lake-Gaskin (http://s226.photobucket.com/albums/dd37/dagurol/?action=view&current=gaskin.jpg)

The previous seasons I've been playing with only one forward but I decided to change it in the middle of the season and it payed off because Ward and Lake-Gaskin have been fantastic, especially Lake-Gaskin who scored 42 league goals, a Tigers legend already!

I'm already in November of the 2014/2015 season so and doing quite well in League One, probably come in with an update soon.

Stamford - League 1 - 2024/25 End of Season Update

Due to the excessive amount of money given out with the end of season league bonuses, and the prize money nowhere near matching it, my finances have been going down, and as a result my chairman started selling my top players over the top of my head. I had to offer them to other clubs at higher fees to try and get what I wanted for them.

Despite losing a couple of really good players, I managed to get in some new players, some of them who are going to be new stars for me. However their wages are crippling me and I was around 10k over budget all season.

I am in desperate need of a stadium expansion as the fans flocked to see our second season in league one, and we ended with an average attendance of 4964 (capacity is 5000), and its about 150 higher than last season. However the board say we cant afford one, which although I agree with, I dont think we can go on in this league without more capacity.

In terms of the football, the team performed way above my expectations all season and finished 2 points off the play off positions, in 7th. Not unhappy with this, as the team I dont feel are ready for promotion quite yet.

Managed to sign a good looking young striker from Man U reserves. In his first match he got sent off, and it got upped to a 3 match ban. Just before the ban was up he managed to get a cruciate ligament injury which of course put him out for the rest of the season, and got him swiftly sent back to Man U.

Sort my finances and wage bill out
Hope despite lack of finances that I can get a stadium increase
Hope that my chairman may finally see some sense and upgrate other facilities, or give me an affilliate or 2.
Failing that stay in League 1 and possibly push for promotion.

Finally achieved promotion at the third time of asking. Going into the last match of the season, Coventry and Swindon were both at the top on 92 points, with me trailing in third on 89 points. Coventry were actually playing Swindon in the final game, so I needed to pick up a win and hope that the Coventry vs. Swindon game didn't end in a draw. Thankfully, everything went well as I picked up the win I needed, and Coventry beat Swindon.

Had a good run in both the League and FA Cups, so the board's pretty happy with me right now... http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Bedford - Square Premier 09/10 - End Season

I started greatly in the Blue Square Premier, and was always 10-12 points above the 2nd placed team but about march I had 4 key injuries.. none of my loaned players available and I had some difficulties, I slipped to third. It was a tight battle till the end but I finished second. In the playoff semi-final I had a tight battle with Mansfield but I won http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif The playoff final was much easier.. was winning 3-0 with exeter until they scored to late goals but I had dominated. So I got promoted to league 2 http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Have more than 1million(euros) in bank balance, and the club has gone pro! http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I think I have made 3-4 quality signings for league 2, only problem is that almost all my forward line is loaned.. hope to get promotion for the third successive year but it will be more difficult now.

a couple of questions on your squad. i have Hotchkiss in my team and he was BSN player of the season 2008/09. have you had him all the way through, and if not, how much did he cost you?? interested in his value you see... Do you play him in midfield alongside steven morrison? i have just signed him as well and am curious as to whether they can play together.

good luck next season!!

I play a narrow 4-1-2-1-2 through the centre of the park, so hotchkiss either plays as an MC or AMC, and also as a backup forward. I retrained Morrison so that he can play DM in addition to his normal MC role. I got them both on free transfers at the start of the 08/09 season. I'n now at the end of 2014 in the Championship. Hotchkiss is still a 1st teamer, but morrison saw limited action this season and is on his way. Hotchkiss is my team's all time leading player in both goals and appearances.

Halesowen Town 2013/2014

Championship - Media prediction 22nd

This was always going to be a rebuilding season from an early stage, as most of the players who had served me well through league one and two would now be out of their depth. A large amount of squad (http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee192/hee163/Dafuge1314/1314_squad.jpg) building too place, with deadwood being sold where possible, otherwise released, and £900k spent on strengthening (http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee192/hee163/Dafuge1314/1314_transfers.jpg) for the future, both in the form of players to slot straight into the first team, and young talent from across europe (after the relaxation of my scouting restrictions.

On the pitch, The season was defined by two streaks of results. My form was consisently inconsistent up to december, with lower mid table the order of the day, before a 12 match streak without a league win saw me slide towards the relegation spots, ruling out any chance of an unlikely playoff run. The team however rallied to put together a total of 22 points from 9 games though February and March to pull me into a safe and sweat free 17th at the end.

Table (http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee192/hee163/Dafuge1314/1314_table.jpg)
Graph (http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee192/hee163/Dafuge1314/1314_graph.jpg)

Portsmouth had a point deduction for the second successive season, as did preston, In both cases denying a playoff run. Blackburn were also deducted points, resulting in thier relegation from the Premier League

Top scorer was an Italian attacking midfielder. Striker was a problem position all season, and one still to be plugged this offseaason.
Top scorer (http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee192/hee163/Dafuge1314/1214_topscorer.jpg)

My ground capacity is now over 13000, with further renovations promised. Further improvements to youth facilities to look forward to also. My last set of revovations were offset by a £5.75M loan, which has eaten into my bank balance over the course of the season.

Hopefully challenge for the playoffs next time round.

Have a general question really, im in my 2nd season after being promoted in my first but my club is still a semi-professional one with the rest of the division seemingly professional. Just wondering what it takes for my chairman to change the clubs status to professional. Is it based on league performance/finances etc? As im mid table - looking down rather than up though, and i have a little in the bank not alot, 150K or so. Just hoping someone might be able to tell me if theres anything i can do to speed the process along, or when it might happen and just shed a little light on it for me.

Try to sign as many players as possible onto full time contracts. The more full time players you have the more likely you are to turn pro. You should so this with your key players anyway, as it allows them to train to a much higher standard. There's probably other things that factor in, big I always reckon that's the main one.

There's probably other things that factor in, big I always reckon that's the main one. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I may be wrong but I believe promotion to league 2 will turn you professional. Not sure if you can get it any other way.

It seemed a bit hit and miss, a few people didn't get offered new contract despite doing well. I was lucky enough to get two new contracts before the patch without any problems.

If your confidence screen is looking ok then you should get a new contract, although it might be just days before your old one runs out.

Thanks

I don't think that makes any difference. I think that the reputation of the club decides when it goes pro, although promotion to League 2 means you automatically become pro.

Since most of these clubs have low reputations it is unlikely that anyone will get pro status while still in the conference.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

To be honest i did think it was more to do with reputation just wondered if there was anything i could do to move things along as there are a few teams in the league that look a class above like Shrewsbury, Oxford and Rushden.

Will hopefully get a few easy draws in the cup which should help, and have signed a couple of my players on full time contracts but most prefer part time so whether that will do anything i dont know.

Looks like a season or 2 of consolidation, how some of you guys keep getting back to back promotion is beyond me! Still its not a race, its a challenge http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

On a related note, I have found that signing all your players to full time contracts helps the team. It won't help you turn pro but the full time training makes quite a difference.

Yep, that's what I forgot to do in my first (doomed) Bedford game, I had all my players on part-time contracts. So they weren't progressing in training, and gradually got worse. When I started my new game, I remembered and signed nearly all my players to full time contracts, so they were able to train properly and progress.

Even if your player says he wants a part-time contract, an extra £30 or £40 per week usually changes his mind... http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I've just had one too, will take me to about 20000. In the meantime though, I'm ground sharing with Birmingham, so have 30000 seats till march!

Thing is, the season ticket prediction is 21700, so when my expansion is done and we move back, there'll be season ticket holders without seats.

The club also took out another loan. Monthly repayments now total £160K.

Precisely what I've done with AFC Wimbledon. Got to October, and when reviewing who I probably would and wouldn't be keeping offered all the players I thought I'd like to keep past 09/10 full time contracts & extensions, and those I didn't think would feature beyond June I gave new full time deals, but only until 30th June 2010. That way they will keep fitter in their last stint with the club.

Seems to have helped out, sitting 4th with about 12 matches to go. Now just to sort my defence out!

what an awful season started with a win but then it was downhill (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/2nd%20season/graph1.jpg) from ther with us really struggling no matter what i tried and finally finished in 23rd (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/2nd%20season/leaguetable1.jpg)

managed to get a parent club in the form of Charlton Athletic who i managed to loan 3 players from and a few others were sign transfers (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/2nd%20season/xfers.jpg) which meant this was the squad (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/2nd%20season/1stteam.jpg) for the season and with the season we had there was no real star player (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/2nd%20season/starplayer.jpg) but he was are best

on the good side we made over £320,000 profit (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/2nd%20season/finances.jpg) this season so i hope the board give me some transfer funds next season as even though i made £200,000 odd last season they never gave me any funds so i could not do much in transfers this season

heres my profile (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/2nd%20season/profile.jpg) and the clubs confidence (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/2nd%20season/confidence.jpg)

goals for next season

1) get promoted again
2) improve squad
3) get further in Setanta Shield and FA Trophy

Hm, this is the first time I've not gotten a completely positive message (http://static.pici.se/pictures/QHMSVSmgc.png) in regards to a contract extension. I guess it's because I didn't (http://static.pici.se/pictures/oHggQAuqG.png) meet (http://static.pici.se/pictures/UfuppIWxK.png) the board's FA Cup ambitions, which feels rather harsh. Not to mention they're contemplating replacing me with a scout that I scouted and signed, and who I now can't seem to convince to extend his deal. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Chippenham Town - 2012/2013 - Coca-Cola League 2 - Mid-season Update

The jump to League football has proven much tougher than moving up to the Conference did, as after a quick start in the first couple matches we rapidly fell to the lower half of the table. Some quality loan signings from Premiership sides is probably all that's kept us from being closer to relegation. Still, there's much hope left in this season, as the league has been very competitive, and even though we're sitting 16th halfway through the season, we're only 6 points back of the playoffs, and things could easily swing in our favor. Still, we're also only 9 points off the relegation zone, so I'd like to think we'll end up, at worst, somewhere in the middle, and be able to get set for a better season next year.

Its November, I have managed 4 wins in the league all season, and my ridiculously bad form has just been confirmed by a 6-2 loss in the FA Cup first round to a team in the division below me.

My finances are awful due to being £20k over my wage budget (wouldnt have enough players if I stayed in budget), and due to my new stadium being built.

It is also contract renewal year. I am already doubtful how I can turn this around and keep a job. Due to the new stadium and loan repayments we cant afford to be relegated, but if the players dont figure out how to play soon we probably will be. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

I wouldnt mind so much but its our 3rd season in league 1, and both the other seasons have been top half finishes, inclusive of just missing out on playoffs last season by 2 points.

And as I write this, we have just lost in the paint trophy too, so at least we dont have any more cups to worry about.

Stamford - Mid Season Update - League 1 2025/26

At the half way point of the season, I think I should give up and go home!

We are currently in 23rd position and have just lost 3-2 to the team below us. We are 7 points away from safey, with 1 game in hand.

The board are very disappointed with my current league position and not overly happy with my control over wages or finances.

AFC Wimbledon - Blue Square Premier - 2009/10 - End of Season Update

So, the lads had to step up to the next challenge of playing in the Blue Square Premier. Having walked the league last season, I was quietly confident of performing quite well, and potentially finishing top half. My confidence took a knock when I looked at my squad once all my loan signings left for their clubs and realised I had a first team squad of about eight players, and half of those weren't up to scratch. So I went out and spent most of pre-season desperately trying to sign some players, with a lot of players coming and going (http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/5261/picture1of0.png).

A fantastic start to the season set us on our way to what ultimately was a great season for us. The lowest place we sunk to all season was when we slipped down to ninth, as shown here (http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/6013/picture2im8.png). As said, first half (http://img253.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture3nd3.png) of the season was decent given my pre-season expectations, however we tried our best to screw it up at the end of the season, with four consecutive defeats before beating Newport Co in the run in (http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/2344/picture4ep1.png).

We eventually finished in a brilliant 4th place in the league (http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/989/picture5oo0.png), pairing us up with Oxford United in the play-offs. It was a shakey affair in the first leg (http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/419/picture6jv8.png) where we actually trailed twice, before taking the game to Oxford and stealing a 4-2 win. For the second leg (http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/1185/picture7te5.png), we went slightly more defensive and were able to manage a 1-1 draw, sending us through to the play-off final. We, once again, trailed twice against Stevenge Borough, before on loan subsitute Charlie Sheringham added another dramatic final (http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/5171/picture8yb2.png) win to the family name by grabbing a brace to give AFC Wimbledon promotion.

Delighted with our squad (http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/1305/picture9qu3.png), primarily made up of youngsters showing great maturity. Needless to say, confidence (http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/2356/picture10hc7.png) in my abilities is high as I led them to consecutive promotions. Star player of the season was free signing, Jay Rodriquez (http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/4683/picture11ws4.png), who somehow managed to be even more ruthless in front of goal than Victor Moses (http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/9315/picture12so1.png) last season. Even after paying the squad for their final league position, our finances (http://img119.imageshack.us/img119/6310/picture13ci0.png) look very promising as we move into the Football League.

Some more club records (http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/5153/picture14gx0.png) broken this season with record scores and scorers. I'm pleased with my profile page (http://img68.imageshack.us/img68/9652/picture15zf1.png), as my reputation now up to regional. My information page (http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/1622/picture16aa2.png) shows I've now managed over 100 games and almost earned £50k so far at AFC Wimbledon.

We are going up, say we are going up! http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Plus I noticed Newcastle made it to the FA Cup Final only to lose to Championship Fulham on penalties, which made me chuckle.

This is not good my assistant manager is being linked with my job and when I asked the board for a new contract they said "They hope to be in a position to make you an offer in the very near future" is that a good sign or a bad sign?

They seem happy with me apart from our exits from the Setanta Shield and FA Trophy a round early - Hopefully FM2009 will let us say how seriously we are going to take the cups, as I use them for my second string/youngsters (whenever I play a first teamer they either get injuried or play rubbish and we lose anyway).

Season 2014/15 Review - Hendon in the Coca-Cola Championship

I feel like the margins were a lot smaller this year, often winning by the odd goal or drawing because the opposition equalized in the dying minutes of the game. Sold a lot more of my first team players in the pre-season than I expected, but opted to give some of the younger talents the chance rather than spending on a whole set of new players, which is probably the main reason for the less decisive matches and lack of goals compared to what I'm used to. Ended up strengthening the team with a couple of new strikers in January, but they had minimal impact on this season's results.

League Table (http://static.pici.se/pictures/JdozInZQN.png)
Villa were comfortable winners (http://static.pici.se/pictures/BbHShWmdm.png) without anyone ever really putting on a challenge. My own record ended up almost identical to last season (22-10-14 vs 20-12-14).

Past Positions (http://static.pici.se/pictures/VycyoOjhb.png)
Off to a slow start due to injury problems from the pre-season games, but got it together after 10 rounds or so and stayed in the playoff section for most of the season.

The Squad (http://static.pici.se/pictures/HfWrefzzi.png)
Would've liked another strong striker next to Luleyski, but no one quite delivered. Jack Baker cost me a fortune but is rather inconsistent. Lethal (http://static.pici.se/pictures/mWTqaKKLr.png) when he's got a good game, though.

Transfers (http://static.pici.se/pictures/wAcDWJnAQ.png)
Loads of people left Hendon this season, both from the reserves and from the first team. Decided to splash some cash on a good forward (Jack Baker).

Star Player (http://static.pici.se/pictures/mJuoOgIYo.png)
Yeah, him again. He's having an increasingly hard time burying his chances though, often getting up to 10 shots off per game, but rarely scoring more than 1. If we end up going up, I'm thinking I might just try to cash in on this guy. I'm thinking we'll need someone more clinical to survive the Premier League.

Jon Mills (http://static.pici.se/pictures/TLJHOZsoa.png)
He's still developing nicely compared to previous (http://static.pici.se/pictures/LBmnGWUIV.png) seasons (http://static.pici.se/pictures/MIxIbOgje.png), though the agility/balance part is slightly concerning. A couple more years and I'm hoping he'll be good enough for the Premiership.

More expansion plans (http://static.pici.se/pictures/xptTTweJh.png) afoot. At this point I sort of wish they would just go for a new stadium instead, but I can't exactly complain about getting an upgraded ~17,000 capacity Claremont Road either. ^^;

34,500 capacity Upton Park for 10 months should be fun. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Forgot to add that we are already out of all cup competitions, both the FA Cup and FA Trophy got knocked out by Ilford who don't even have a league, in the FA Cup it was the 3rd qualifying round and in the FA Trophy it was the first round qualifying round (if they have qualifying rounds I can't remember, if not the first round.) and in the Setanta Shield we got to the 3rd round before being thrashed 5-0 by Dorchester.

Hitchin Town League 2 - 2010/1011

After winning the BSS and BSP I suspected that my players may be out of their depth playing in League 2.

They yet again surpassed my expectations with the third successive league trophy (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/league2table.jpg). It was actually won with a game to go as I was at that point 3 points clear with a superior goal difference.

Overview (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/overview.jpg)
As can be seen we were crap in the cups and got knocked out of all of them very early. Which probably helped with the league form.
The most shocking thing is that I had no player sent off this season and only 30 yellow cards.

The core of the squad (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/squad.jpg) that won the BSP remained in the starting 11 and they were amply aided by 3 loanees including a pair from Man City.

Transfers (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/transfercentre.jpg)
Chedwyn Evans (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/chedwynevans.jpg) - joined on loan from Man City. At first I thought that I had brought in a dud striker as he didn't score his first goal until his 6th game. So his scoring record is actually 29 goals in 32 appearances which is impressive in anyone's book.

James Cronesberry (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/jamescronesberry.jpg) - also made a preyy good impression on the team. altough he was used mainly as back up for the wingers. He also was Hitchin's first domestic international (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/1stdomesticinternational.jpg) although with the U21s.

Joanthan Patterson (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/jonathanpatterson.jpg) - is a DC I got who I suspect has got good potential. I do need to loan him out to get a lot more first team football next season.

Keith Gilroy (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/keithgilroy.jpg) was yet again the fan's player of the season. My ass man doesn't rate him but the average rating and 15 assists means that he'll be keeping his starting place for a while. He has also now been my first player to make it on to Hitchin's favoured personnel list.

Hitchin also got 4 players into the team of the season (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/teamofyear.jpg) for League 2.
Russell Martin also got the 2nd best boal fo the season (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc286/spankie_uk2002/goalseason.jpg)

At the end of the season the board have actually spent a little money to improve the facilities at the club.

Future aims:
1. Stay up - it won't be easy though.
2. Rebuild the squad. I have a number of players just not good enough for League 1, in fact some of the struggled in League 2. I'll need to sell some to get some transfer money in as, yet again, the club just refuse to give me any funds.
3. Eventually get a stadium expansion - the average for this season was 2628 and the capacity is 3800.
4. Get another feeder and parent club. QPR have been good to me but I do need other options. Fisher are not in a playable league and so I'm reluctant to loan players to them.

Stamford - League 1 - End of Season Update 2025/26

Well I thought the pre-season got off to a great start when the board announced the £10Million new 10,728 capacity stadium that will be built within a year. Although with already a dodgy finances, and now a bank loan, and high wage bill I was a bit worried.

The season then started properly and all I can say is how does a a team go from being a promotion candidate last season, to finishing 1 point away from relegation this season?

If I can hold onto my job over the summer, I will be doing a lot of rebuilding and hopefully sorting the squad out, but since my wages are being limited and I fear my expensive players will have to be sold, I am doubtful about my chances for next season (if I am still in charge).

I was no higher than 16th all season, and am too depressed to give more than this 1 screenshot for this season.

Thats not the only surprising team in a divsion.

Its 2026 and:

Everton have been in league 1 for at least 3 seasons.
Liverpool and Newcastle are currently in the Championship
Man Utd, Aston Villa and Leicester are the relegated teams from the Premiership this season.

Last season Liverpool were almost relegated to League 1, where they would have been able to resume their local derbies with Everton!

Chippenham Town - 2012/13 - Coca-Cola League Two - End of Season Update

Going into the year I expected to end up somewhere in the lower half of the table, and that's about how the first half of the season played out. Around January, however, our fortunes began to change, and we started to make slow but steady progress up the table. The signings of Lee Bowyer, and later Celestine Babayaro, bolstered weak points in the hopes of giving us a chance to sneak into the playoffs. Unfortunately, with a month to go in the season, our star striker Tommy Jones, on loan from Manchester United, got injured for the month, and while we had a great unbeaten run going into April we couldn't sustain it, and ended up 9th on the year. On the positive, we did much better than expected going into the season (Media Prediction: 24th), but the hopes of making the playoffs in the latter half of the season didn't bear out and it actually feels like a disappointing season.

Looking forward to next season, most of our goals came from Tommy Jones, so if we can't get a similarly qualified striker in, we could still be looking at a relegation battle. Fortunately, we've got a little money in the kitty now, so player quality should rise all around, and I think we'll easily stay up, and hopefully contend for promotion.

The season hasnt quite started yet, but I am already predicting a strong relegation battle on my hands. We barely avoided the drop last season, have lost some of our good players due to me not being able to offer them good enough contracts.

I havent yet managed to sign anyone to try and strengthen the squad and the board still doesnt see the point in giving me a parent club (surely with our lousy finances some extra yearly income would be a good idea?).

I have had to state that my minimum expectations were respectable league position and I'm scared if i dont match that for the second season running, my challenge attempt will be over.

Thats my pitch, notice i didnt say ground, i said pitch. Well one of them is anyway.

How do i get my form graph on, can i do it in the BSS?

I've won 6 on the trot including wins against teams in the play off spots, Ryan Wignall has been the best player, and my goalkeeper is a revelation.

Heh, I couldn't figure this out for a while either, it is well hid.

Go to the league table, and then click on your league position. It'll hot-link straight to your form graph.

Three games into life in League Two and I'm certainly feeling a bit better about our chances of avoiding the drop. 2 draws away from home against two experienced league sides and a 4-1 hammering of Bury at the Kingsmeadow Stadium have placed us nicely in mid-table. Add to that a rather nice cashcow in the form of Southampton away in the League Cup 1st Round (we lost 4-0, but was only expected to enjoy the competition anyway!) and things are looking good early days.

Well it was inevitable (http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/8855/sackedzs5.jpg) after 6750 days (18 years) in charge of Stamford FC, I have been sacked.

A run of bad performances, issues with finances and my luck generally running out has lead to the sacking.

Well that was probably one of my best games of FM for years, and it was my 4th attempt at this years challenge (and only one that really got going).

I will now wait with the rest of you on this thread for the patch (hopefully soon) before I try again.

Bad luck. I fear i may be joining you in the dole queue. playing really badly and unable to find a workable tactic. I'm also far too far in debt for a BSP club and after 2 seasons in this league and currently 21st, not looking good.

Bedford - Year 10/11 - Coca-Cola League Two - End of Season Update

I have always been from 3rd or above in blue square south and blue square premier but this season was different. I think I never was 3rd or above, although I always was near the playoff region. Finished 7th, the last playoff position. This position was above my expectations because I didn't think I had a squad to challenge for the playoffs.

I had captured 3 players on loan and I must say they made the difference.. I did it to the playoff final which was a thrilling encounter. I got promoted and now my main objective is to have my own squad and not rely on many loans anymore.

Chippenham Town 2008-2009 Blue Square South
End of season update

Media prediction: 21st
Because of a lack of players the pre-season was only 2 matches. Won one 1-0. Lost the other against Hull 0-8. We started the season with only 4 points from the first 4 matches. After that things started to get better and slowely we did go towards a play-off position. My 2 loanplayers (Frankie Artus - AMC and Alex Nicholls - AMR/ST) from Bristol City carried the team most of the season. What worries me the most is that if Alex Nicholls was injured, the other players didn't score goals. Together they scored 47 of my 77 leaguegoals. This must gonna give me some trouble next season. I hope I can sign some decent replacement.

Anyway, we ended 3th in the league and won the Play-off semifinals on penalties. The final we won 3-2 against AFC Wimbledon. Ryan Beswick is player of the year.

As you can see we have no problems going forward, we have an incredible goal tally, but defensively we are awful, 4-3 results arent rare, we have won ten on the trot at present to take us from the bottom half to serious title contenders, and even if we cant pass St Albans im confident we have the quality to win the play offs.

Unlucky Hitchin go down at Kingsmeadow

Despite taking a 1-0 lead, and creating the better of the chances, we found ourselves 3-1 down at half time.

Tyrone Thompsons goal after 48 mins made it 3-2, but against the run of play, Wimbeldon went 4-2 ahead.

After a late onslaught, Andy McIntosh scored in the 86th minute to give Hitchin some hope.

Well after the attendance bug that hit me which i told you all about, i decided to carry on playing to see what will happen!
It went down to the boil on the last day of the season, i had to beat Accrington and Tranmere to lose for me to finish 3rd in Lg 2 and go up.
And you guessed it, that happened.
I am now Billericay in Lg 1, with a 1535 stadium!
However wonder news happened.
The board agreed to expand the stadium by 900 seats! haha!
But that is not the great news.
This is.
I get to groundshare with Gillingham for half the season.
Being sensible, i arranged 5 friendlies against good teams, and each time they sold out, earning the club 100k a pop.
I have just played by 1st league game at home to port vale at preistfield and yes to my horror...
it was a sell out!

Oh and a quick tip to anyone struggling. I was really struggling in season 4, my first in League 2.
Then i turned it all around signing a handful of guys by:
Going to view a European Under 21 team.
Then flicking through them all.
Signing a few randomers (your obviosuly not going to be able to see their stats.)
Bit of a gamble, but it worked for me.
Got 4 players that Ade Akinbyi (by great Ass man!) tell me are Premiership standard.
And a whole host of clubs chasing them.

Thanks to this (http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/7977/picture2tl1.png) dramatic penalty shoot-out, we face a money spinning tie against Manchester City! The best bit about that though is in the first game, we were 3-0 down, and losing 4-2 with about 5 minutes to go, but thanks to Sheringham (again), who scored 4 times, we snatched a replay. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I might be wrong ere, and correct me if I am, but aren't you supposed to have to be able to scout them before you sign them, because of the randomer player making the game too easy, with all the Poles and Slovaks etc that people were signing.

Hitchin Town in the BSS - Season 2009/10

A disappointing season in so many ways.

The season started with a 2-0 home win against Boreham Wood, in a 10 game stretch which yielded 8 wins 1 draw and 1 defeat. Despite a disappointing 4-1 defeat in the FA Cup 3rd Qual round, October was a decent month.

19 games into the season we sat proudly on top of the league, despite a couple of defeats on the trot.

However, our poor form ran through November and December going 5 games without a win.

The new year started poorly with a 4-1 home defeat to Ebbsfleet, and we continued with inconsistencty and the form of a playoff side for the rest of the year, needing a win on the last day of the season to guarentee the playoffs.

We did indeed beat Basingstoke at home, and finsihed the season in 4th, and into the playoffs.

Final League Table (http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m52/supermas_2006/hitchinbss0910.jpg)

As above, we lost 6-4 on aggregate, to eventual winners AFC Wimbledon.
First Leg (http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m52/supermas_2006/hitchinbssplayoffsemi10910.jpg)
Second Leg (http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m52/supermas_2006/hitchinbssplayoffsemi20910.jpg)

As the graph shows, we slipped from 1st to 4th eventually. Graph (http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m52/supermas_2006/hitchinbss0910graph.jpg)

Our top goal scorer from the season was Pierre Joseph-Dubois (http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m52/supermas_2006/hitchinpierredumois10.jpg)

I am, strangely it may sound, satisfied that we did not get promoted, beacuse I do not believer we were good enough. Despite having great strikers, our defence is simply not good enough, and will be the area I address for next season, and perhaps some more muscle in midfield.

Our finances are looking bad, despite me shipping out Alan Stubbs for 5k to Stafford (he performed very poorly).

Lets hope we can achieve promotion next season!

As someone who lives in Hitchin, I'd point out that that image belies the amount of standing room there is at Top Field. And FM08 got it wrong, Hitchin's capacity is a bit over 4,000, at least according to every source I've been able to find.

I noticed for the first time in all my time playing FM that Hitchin got promoted after one season in my current game (have been playing as Man City otherwise). I decided that out of loyalty to my hometown I should take them on as a second manager (spotted them in mid-October) but since I don't rate my managerial ability, I won't embarass myself by posting my results here :P

I will definitely be back once the patch is out. Only waiting because there is meant to be a data update and hope that it may affect which teams can come up.

well I have been away for the weekend took the game with me http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif but had no internet http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Started off well had April manager of the month
http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd191/gfoley21/aprilmanagerofmonth.jpg
Then made the playoff final after a very turbulent season, was 2-0 at half time and managed to come back against a good Cambridge team god knows how, think the all out attack worked with route one at the end http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd191/gfoley21/theultimatecomeback.jpg
http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd191/gfoley21/theultimatecomeback2.jpg
so there I was promoted from the south happy days ...
http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd191/gfoley21/endseasonresults0809.jpg
the board seemed quite happy http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd191/gfoley21/secon...nstartconfidence.jpg (http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd191/gfoley21/secondseasonstartconfidence.jpg)
Started the second season (my first in the blue square prem) with a massive clearout of deadwood.
http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd191/gfoley21/secondseasonclearout.jpg
http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd191/gfoley21/secondseasonpreview.jpg
http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd191/gfoley21/secon...nstartingprofile.jpg (http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd191/gfoley21/secondseasonstartingprofile.jpg)

However i soon realised i was up the creek when the board paid the bonus for promotion which i stupidly and eagerly set as high http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif -250,000k not good
now have to rely on free signings that are rubbish and the under 18 loans from crystal palace and things are not looking good and i have no resources to so anything about it, relegation beckons i think

http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd191/gfoley21/finances2ndyear.jpg
http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd191/gfoley21/averageconfidence.jpg

anyone have any suggestions? http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

3Sixty's Chippenham town update 2017-2018

WHAT A SEASON.

As andy gray would say "Take a bow son, take a bow. "

Table (http://img218.imageshack.us/my.php?image=11192007002453gw7.jpg)

I know the table looks bloody fantastic, but in all fairness, it could have been even better as shown by the graph.

Graph (http://img128.imageshack.us/my.php?image=11192007002822cw6.jpg)

Although looking at that again, it could have been so much worse lol.

Danny Rose also managed to clinch footballer of the year, which i think is a first for this years challenge.

Footballer Of The Year (http://img128.imageshack.us/my.php?image=11192007002942do1.jpg)

The Squad (http://img232.imageshack.us/my.php?image=11192007003125mv1.jpg)

Some very handy looking average ratings in there.

Lukas was my top scorer for the 2nd season running.

But Joeseph Lowe (http://img232.imageshack.us/my.php?image=11192007003356ou4.jpg) impressed me after coming in from Celtic on deadline day.

I have 1 month to go until my contract expires. I asked for a new one a month ago and have had several messages confirming that they may lose me and that a new contract is due to be offered.

Am in Lg2, finished 13th when my objective was to stay up.

I want to go to bed but gotta press space bar for a month and see if I get the new deal.

btw Andy Caton scored another 33 goals this season (31 in the league) This now makes (league only) 4 consecutive seasons of 30 goals and 145 in 214 games. Didn't Steve Bull play for England when in the lower leagues? http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

A decent season really, as I didn't change much from last year. Started off really well, but gradually drifted away from December/January onwards. I'm happy enough with 14th place though.

Once again, the stadium expansion was blocked by the council and I obviously don't have enough in the coffers to build a new stadium.

Also, some of my first team players didn't know if they wanted to sign new contracts or not, therefore I had to flog them off rather than risk letting their deals run out. So I'll be losing a few players in the upcoming pre-season

MachinegunHead - Matlock - Season 2011/2012 - Blue Square North

Well, after a 2 year campaign in the Blue Square Premier, I found myself thrown back down into obscurity to face off against my former Northern foes. I promised my team a top half finish, not expecting to do anything special after last years failed hopes and dreams. To no-ones surprise, I found myself dancing in the realms of relegation a few weeks into the season. On a whim I decided to change my tactics back from my specially tailored sliders to the default 4-4-2. The effect of this can be shown by this delightful graph.

League Standings (http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee220/MachinegunHead/graph.jpg)

So yeah! MY FIRST AUTOMATIC PROMOTION!!!! I am now hoping that I can hold my own in the premier and not spend my seasons dancing around the bottom of the table. Just to verify the fabulous result, here is the final league table. (http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee220/MachinegunHead/table-1.jpg)

This season was also Sheffield United's first season in the premier league since they took me on board as a feeder, and to my delight they managed to pull off this result. (http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee220/MachinegunHead/sheff.jpg) Hopefully this means that they will be acquiring some new talents for me to loan up. Especially seeing as the two they sent me last season were dog spit.

Also, some of you may be interested to hear that my star goalie 'Magnus Nilsen' got a haircut this year:
before (http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee220/MachinegunHead/magnus.jpg)
After (http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee220/MachinegunHead/magnus2.jpg)

(He also improved quite a bit, and is hopefully going to keep me alive in the premier)

I agree with this. There is no point unloading a quality striker like him unless you are in debt, don't need/want him or you KNOW you can get an equal or better striker for less cash.

In any case Mangotsfield United have done it again http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Mangotsfield League 1 Runners Up http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
It came down to the last game of the season. Coventry were sitting in 2nd 1 point above us, but a much worse goal difference. Brighton had the League in the bag and we were in the middle of a run of indifferent form. Away at Luton (6 games unbeaten) and needing results to go our way, 3-2 down in the 82nd minute, thiings did not look good.
Up steps Smejkal, my Czech MC, he strides purposefully into the penalty and neatly tucks the ball in the bottom left corner. 3-3 at the final whistle, but how did Coventry get on?
They only went and lost at home to Swansea 1-2, so my boys got promoted on goal difference http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I will try and ensure i post some screenies this evening, not that you don't believe me http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I must say having Prosinecki as my Ass Man has proved very useful as his knowledge has been invaluable in the transfer market. I will elaborate more on this later http://community.sigames.com/customicons/icon14.gif

So this makes it 4 promotions on the bounce and still my stadium is tiny (300 seating, capacity about 2500 http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif), but due to lack of funds etc You know the story http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Yeah Man Utd went into administration at the end of the season before, had to sell off all there good players, half there squad was made up of youths.

Scab - I had 2 big bids for players in the summer 15m for my footballer of the year now world cup winner midfielder, which i begrudgingly turned down.

My right back was "Upset i didn't let him talk to Portsmouth".

He seems to have settled down abit now though, he is just flattered by the interest being shown in him.

Thing is i was never going to sell him, i payed 6.5m for him a year ago and Newcastle have a 35% of his future fee.

So they would get around 4m of that leaving me with very little profit.

season review - Matt6 - Hitchin Town - 08/09 - And so it begins…

Pre-Season
Inheriting a team with only six youth players is always a challenge, so a busy pre-season in the transfer market saw 18 free transfers join Hitchin Town. Realising that this could be a tricky season I decided to get a decent goalkeeper in, loaning James McKeown from Peterborough, bringing a total of 19 new faces to the canaries.
Friendly results where seen as irrelevant as most of them were played with few players as they were yet to be signed.
19 year old left back Joe Widdowson was appointed Captain, with 23 year old Gary Elphick as his vice-captain. This reflects the general age of the squad, with the average age being just 20.

August
A tricky month with a horrible start, after going 1-0 up away to Hayes & Yeading the final score line of 5-1 to Hayes & Yeading was disappointing. The month ended on a high with a 4-0 win over Sutton Utd.
Month stats: W2 D1 L3
Position: 17th

September
A much better month, this month also saw the start of the F.A. Cup, with a 3-3 draw at home to Northwood.
Stats: W4 D2 L0
Position: 4th
Awards: Player of the Month: 19 year old striker Sean Taylforth scored 5 goals in 5 games, with an average rating of 8.00

October
A bad start to this month saw Hitchin crash out of the F.A. Cup losing the 2nd Qualifying round replay 4-1 to Northwood, however a 5-1 win over Weston-super-Mare in the Setanta Shield 1st Round made up for this.
Stats: W3 D1 L2
Position: 4th

November
This month saw Hitchin progress in both the Setanta Shield and the FA Trophy, as well continuing steadily in the League.
Stats: W4 D2 L1
Position: 4th

December
The month started with Hitchin advancing to the 4th round of the Setanta Shield. The month then ended with Hitchin crashing out of the Setanta shield by losing 4-0 to Stockport.
Stats: W3 D2 L2
Position: 5th

January
One new addition to the squad this month, Portuguese winger Lino Goncalves joining on loan from Fulham. This was probably the best month under my management so far as well as a winning run in the league Hitchin got through two rounds of the FA Trophy into the 4th round, including a shock 1-0 win over Oxford
Stats: W7 D2 L0
Position: 3rd
Awards: Manager of the Month

February
A fairly average month. It included a defeat in the FA Trophy, just leaving the league to focus on now.
Stats: W2 D2 L2
Position: 4th

March
Not that exciting a month, average in results as well.
Stats: W2 D0 L2
Position: 4th

April
The season is nearly over now, another solid month that included qualification for the playoffs. The month also saw Sean Taylforth get his second player of the month award, scoring 7 goals in just 3 games, with an average rating of 9.00.
Stats: W2 D1 L1
Position: 4th (Qualified for Playoffs)

May
With just one league game left a 5-1 win over Lewes wasn’t a bad way to end the league campaign. Bring on the playoffs!
Stats: W1 D0 L0
Position: 4th (Qualified for Playoffs)

Playoffs
Semi final 1st Leg: Braintree 1-6 Hitchin
Semi final 2nd Leg: Hitchin 5-1 Braintree
Semi final aggregate: Hitchin 11-2 Braintree
Final: Lewes 1-3 Hitchin A.E.T

Summary
Final Position: 4th (Promoted)
Awards: 2nd in Manager of the Season
Fans Player of the Season: Sean Taylforth

I'll be having a crack at this challenge hopefully later this week, new patch permitting.

Just a quick question about past experience: on the first page it says this should be "Sunday League Footballer". However, I thought the lowest setting was actually "Automatic", as this was also used in the last two challenges. Could someone confirm what this should actually be?

Last year, we experienced some people getting higher reputations due to their age on the assumption that automatic was choosing the most appropriate reputation for them, so it was changed to Sunday League Footballer so that everyone would get the lowest reputation.

Turns out it didn't make the slightest bit of difference, people's reputations are exactly as they have been for the last two years.

2nd Season Update

King's Lynn 09/10

After a successful first season, finishing 6th, my board were extremely happy, yet gave me no help to push on to greater things. No transfer budget but a slightly increased wage budget.

I thought 10th was a fair media prediction, but any improvement on last year would be a real result.

I set about improving my slightly aging squad by bringing in a lot of youth. These are my transfers (http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r129/scampos17/Transfer09-10.jpg) .

Tiverton Town - League 2 - 2012/2013 - End of Season Round-Up[/B

[B]Final Position = 15th

League (http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc302/jamesf18/league13.jpg)

A very mediocre season with a mediocre bunch of players. I knew i would not achieve anything this season with the players at my disposoal but it is still nice to dream.

Finances are fine but still not good enough for the board to offer any form of investment in the club. I hope they will next season!

2009/2010 season, Blue Square Premier, Bedford

Well not a great season. What i was expecting really, to be around the top 10, so 9th im pretty happy with considering i went a stretch of 13 games without a win, and then weirdly i won 8 on the bounce including 3 away games against teams in the top 4.

Table (http://img222.imageshack.us/my.php?image=leaguejq2.png)

The main problem is that i dont have a parent club and my board keep refusing to get me one, so im not getting any good players on loan.

On the plus side my team is built up of youngsters with the oldest person at the club being 22 and the average squad age of 19. Was probably one of the reasons i didnt go up as they were a little inconsistant but i think with one or two signings and my youngsters maturing i should certainly be battling it out for promotion next season.

First Season - AFC Wimbledon 08/09

This is the first time in a fair few years, where I'm going to attempt a challenge. A number of potentially good clubs became available, but decided that AFC Wimbledon would be a nice challenge.

My initial profile page! (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee54/RolandStrobl/AFCWimbledon.jpg)

Will let you know how things look at the end of my first season!

Chippenham Town - 2013/14 - Coca-Cola League 2 - Mid-season Update

We're above and beyond expectations so far, sitting 6th in the league, but yet again I can't help but feel disappointed. After being quick out of the box we stumbled a bit in October and November, eventually getting something going in December. Unfortunately, we fell out of the FA Cup in the 2nd Round, but not before picking up the £75,000 in TV money for our match with League 1 Luton. I've made a couple of January signings in the hope of bolstering our defence, which seems to be the real problem, but we're now well over the wage budget, and so had better earn promotion in order to prove our need for it.

well at the third attempt i finally failed to beat the drop and bedford town were relegated from the BSP. and just in time for the end of my contract. awesome timing...

so i was more than a little surprised to find i was offered a new deal!

in order to complete the long term plan i'll need to go straight back up, but at least i'm not down and out yet...

i'll do a full summary later

Season 2015/16 Review - Hendon in the Coca-Cola Championship

I had a really good season this year. Off to a slow start - as usual - but after 20 somewhat shaky rounds we were top of the league and never dropped below 2nd. Ended up struggling the last 10 rounds or so, giving Barnsley the opportunity to pass us, which I largely blame on Luleyski, my goalkeeper and my best centrehalf all being unhappy at rejected bids for that entire period, performing below their usual standards. Cup results were unspectacular and I just barely met the board's expectations.

League Table (http://static.pici.se/pictures/CLhWDDkAE.png)
Got the forwards firing this season, though Luleyski had his worst season since joining the club. Then again, 25 goals, 8 assists and 6 MoM awards in 40 league games isn't something I'm about to complain about.

Past Positions (http://static.pici.se/pictures/gegruKIOT.png)
Reveals our dominance for most of the season as well as the late-season slump.

The Squad (http://static.pici.se/pictures/pNfwhMDsx.png)
Baker and McKay helping with the goalscoring a lot better than my other strikers did last year, but I still lack a really venomous midfielder. Almost all goals are coming from the strikers. Temmerman (http://static.pici.se/pictures/UZgsLfKTs.png) did well from corners despite his modest physical attributes, even earning a lot of "is winning everything in the air" comments in defence. It seems to me the Heading attribute has a bigger weight in who wins the aerial duels in FM08 than it had in FM07 where I always went for players with high Jumping, discarding any centrehalf with <15 in it.

Transfers (http://static.pici.se/pictures/fDfLSEiVG.png)
Didn't sell as many, but was well paid. Amazingly the club was still losing more than £500,000 a month while playing in front of 30,000+ crowds on Upton Park, so I don't know quite what to do about wages now that I'm back at newly-expanded 17,157 capacity Claremont Road. I can't exactly cut spending upon entering the Premiership if I want to survive...

Star Player (http://static.pici.se/pictures/VRdPTTfdi.png)
Same guy as always. I'm curious to see how well he can do in the Premiership, so unlike my thoughts on it last season, I think I'll keep him and find out rather than cashing in.

Jon Mills (http://static.pici.se/pictures/eSFBepWug.png)
Still progressing impressively compared to last year (http://static.pici.se/pictures/REJGMQjvw.png), though very little in the technical department. Coaches are still raving about him though. As promising as he is, I'm doubtful if I can afford to play him regularly next season. Looks like the Wales manager stopped calling him up as well.

Oh and don't worry about the money so much.

You get a massive amount of TV money compared to the championship.

Oh, right, I didn't think about the TV money? How much is that per season?

Hmmmm

My estimated value seems to have dropped from 55m to 18.5m for no apparent reason.
