I like this promotion, my reputation has gone up to National, I can now scout the whole of UK & Ireland, and the club has gone professional.

Just need to strengthen my defence and goalkeeper now.

Are the bookies mad? (http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/8838/bookiestm8.jpg) - I'm a newly promoted club and personally reckon there is a good chance of relegation and yet the bookies have me at an outside chance for promotion?

Heybridge Swifts 2014-15 BSP

A solid if unspectacular season for Heybridge in the BSP, although a final finish of 19th isn't very good we didnt win any of the last 8 games and still finished 8 points from relegation zone so no real worries there.
Injuries and squad size proved crucial and an ineffectual strike force and refereeing decisions seemed to prevent any rhythm from developing.
table (http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p20/shaggy61/2015table.jpg)
The highlight of the season was a 3-0 second leg FA Trophy semi final win over Boston which gave us a 4-3 aggregate win. However in that game key striker Pack was injured for the rest of the season. Super Keeps 2 McConnell has been called into Ireland u21 side and is interesting a number of league one sides, he will go to higher places eventually but has signed a contract for 3 more years so if he does go it will be for lots of money. Right back Gray has also impressed enough to be called into Scotland under 21's and continues to progress altough he wont probably make the full side.
team (http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p20/shaggy61/squad2015.jpg)
On the financial side we're making money, 600K in the bank and the board have agreed to improve training and youth facities at last.

finances (http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p20/shaggy61/finance2015.jpg)
The major disappointment came in shocking fa trophy final defeat 3-0 to Farsley when super keeps had 2 shockers which put us under too much pressure to deal with.

Other news

EX-Swift Super Kyle bags 15 goals for Sutton Utd but cant stop them being relegated from BSS.
From the table you can see Whitby bounced back from relegation as Hines and Dunna again took the title for them.

so i started with the 'mighty' bedford http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif had no staff or players only 4 youths. So i had to sign a whole squad and some staff too. These are the players (http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff101/lethal87/snap0014.jpg) in and these are my new staff (http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff101/lethal87/snap0015.jpg)

my star player till now has been without doubt Stefan Koffi (http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff101/lethal87/snap0016.jpg) .. he scores an average of 1 goal per game. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Im in mid-season now and have been constantly in playoff zone.. i hope to get promoted in the 1st season!

Mini Update - Witton - 10/11

Only about 8 games into the new season but things seem to be going well. I told the board and fans that we'd be aiming for a mid table position, rather than struggle against relegation.

At the moment we're 6th and looking good. The team is playing well together and a couple of the players I've brought in are making an impact.

Jay Thomas (http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s121/peljam/Witton/JayThomas10.jpg) New defender who seems fairly solid. The fans loved the fact that I signed him straight away. He's slotted into the team well and shored up a fairly shakey defence.

Danny Ward (http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s121/peljam/Witton/DannyWard10.jpg) Our new striker. He's been coming back from injury so he's had alot of sub appearences. He looks the part though and the fans like him http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Just as well that he's fitting in well as Efe Enchamoni has scored once this season. Efe looks a shadow of himself http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Charlie McD (http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s121/peljam/Witton/CharlieMcD10.jpg) He's stepped up though http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif He was player of the season in 09/10. Maybe he's aiming to get it again.

Why the hell do I have to wait two years for this free transfer to join me?! (http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee25/sockbra/free.jpg)

I don't get it. He's 16 and has English second nationality. No global bans or similar. I signed abother sixteen year old from a Carib country on a free and he joined instantly.

This guy looks ace, but he doesn't have a club. He's going to either retire or be all of useless when I get him eventually as he won't have played for almost two seasons http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Any ideas why or is it straight up a bug?

I had the same with an Australian. I think it is something to do with rules in certain countries about under 18s joining foreign clubs.

My chairman has just accepted a bid of £770k.

Since I couldn't keep away from the game, I'm still playing it, I'm starting to wish I wasn't.

He's done it again http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

This time it's my star left back, and probably the best player in my team. I have already turned down and pulled out of £5m deals for this player, but my chairman obviously thinks £1.4m is good enough.

After selling my other star player, my finances were looking ok, we are also top of the league with ambitions of playing in the Championship next season.

Why is he doing this? What is he trying to achieve?

I had it with someone from Belize. I offered the contract and I was willing to wait. When the transfer date finally came round it was too late. He'd retired. Even though he'd signed a contract with me.

Same here, I'm just waiting for it to start again.

I'd start again now with the beta patch but since the full patch has a data update I'll wait for that. Last year the data update caused a few new teams to be promoted, so there might be a chance of teams with lower reps becoming playable.

Ahh, that would explain it. Maybe it should be a warning when you're offering a contract that players from those countries can't join a foreign club till they're eighteen? Either that or you should be given the option to loan him to a team from his home nation.

Stamford is slowly starting to be a desirable place to go to. Sunderland offered me a reserve central defender valued at £450k for free and since I had already got some scout reports on him, I put in a £0 offer. Millwall also put in an offer and I have no idea why but the player has decided to come to Stamford. I get him in January.

Sunderland are currently Premiership in my game and Millwall in League 1. I'm in league 2

Well, I couldn't resist any longer!

On the 19th of june, 2008 this guy (http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc169/Icelander83/profile.jpg) took the reins at newly promoted Gateshead.

Just how they got promoted with a whopping 4 senior players and 2 youth players was beyond my comprehension. I also found out I had been mislead quite a bit by my chairman when I found out I was the only staff member! Reading my contract again and paying special attention to the fine print I discovered the following clauses:

i) The manager is also responsible for providing the half-time refreshments for the players and fans (both of them), this shall be deducted from his ludicrusly high wage of 250 pounds per week.
ii) The manager shall be responsible for hiring some staff of some sort, I surely can't be arsed to do it myself.
iii) Oh, and the manager is responsible for everything and anything not mentioned here, if anything should happen, he's out on his behind.

So, here begins the journey of a young manager/tealady http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The reward is a home tie against league 1 Bradford in the second round.

And somehow we beat Bradford 2-1 to make it through to the 3rd round of the FA Cup, in a cup run that in my eyes should have ended in round 1.

The prize is a home tie against Liverpool, who are back in the Premiership after a season in the Championship.

Stamford has played Liverpool once before in the FA Cup 3rd round, when they beat us 4-3 at Anfield around 3 seasons ago.

Merthyr Tydfil - Blue Square South - June 2010

We kept up our good form until the end of the season, with us finishing in 3rd, (http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z125/Wellyboo/Dafuges%20Challenge/LeaguePositionGraph-June10.jpg) and not dropping out of the play-off spots since the 8th match of the season. This was a big step up from last season, where we finished 18th, and was mainly thanks to a new goalkeeper, Richard O'Donnell, (http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z125/Wellyboo/Dafuges%20Challenge/ODonnell-June10.jpg) who was the key man in us having the second best defensive record in the league, and also Conor Clifford (http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z125/Wellyboo/Dafuges%20Challenge/Clifford-June10.jpg) on loan from Cardiff, who was excellent throughout in both attacking and defensive roles.

The play-off semi-final was against Cambridge City, and to be fair, I didn't go into the first leg with much confidence. Since our play-off spot was pretty much guaranteed, the players seemed to pretty much give up, which meant the season ended with a few poor results. Our poor form carried through to the first leg, where we lost 1-0 (http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z125/Wellyboo/Dafuges%20Challenge/vsCambridge-May10.jpg) away, and it could of been a lot worse. I didn't expect anything from the second leg, but completely out of the blue, the team produced their best display of the challenge so far (and probably of any CM/FM game I've ever had), with a 6-0 (http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z125/Wellyboo/Dafuges%20Challenge/vsCambridge2-May10.jpg) demolition of Cambridge, who lost their cool in the second half and had two players sent off.

Going into the final, I expected nothing less than a win. Bath had won the other semi, and I felt confident we could get a result against them after beating them 2-1 in our last meeting. The match was well balanced, but we seemed to have the cutting edge throughout, and with 15 minutes of the match left, we led 2-0. But in the 76th minute, we gave away a penalty. I could tell that if they scored, we would be hanging on for the rest of the game. Toner ran up... Saved by O'Donnell! The game was as good as over, and we'd done it against the odds (18th place predicted), 2-0 (http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z125/Wellyboo/Dafuges%20Challenge/vsBath-May10.jpg) to the Martyrs and we were up!

A lot of work is going to be needed before the new season though, as our lack of depth in defence really showed towards the end of the season. Although with a bit of luck, I'm sure we'll at least be able to stay up!

dlnwba86 - Halesowen Town - BSP 2011/12

After a terrible start to the season we never managed to get above 18th all season long, despite playing some good football in parts, only 2 wins in my last 20 or so games meant that relegation was always a possibility. 1 Point ahead with 1 game to go and we lose, again, but are saved as the other teams around me are somehow worse than i am.

League Table (http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r237/dln424/tablle.jpg)

Next season will need to see a vast improvement and settlement on a tactic as i just can't find one to work at the moment. Hopefully i can get some money in as well in the form of sales as i'm 300K in debt, for no reason but wages and bonuses.

That's fixed in the beta patch - for some reason before the patch the game was only looking at first nationalites to see whether you could sign U18 players, I had it when I enquired about Portsmouth's never aging Thailand Youngster Supat Rungratsamee, and it said somelike I couldn't sign him for two years due to Portsmouth not being in the England (English clubs not allowed to sign U18 from abroad) http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The patch has fixed it, so if they have a EU nationality you can sign them, everyone else has to wait until they are 18.

Marine Blue Square North - 2009/10 - MidSeason Update (Season Two)

After last seasons playoff final defeat, this year we would win the league if the previous two years of the challenge are anything to go by, but first I had to rebuild our awful defence - conceeding 70 goals last season was not acceptable.

Though the rebuilding didn't start off to well - several squad players were released on free's when they wanted too much money, I also lost two of my better defensive players - Keeper Button (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/4615/09keepersaleop8.jpg) was sold to Bradford for £100K (+20% next sale) as we really needed the money, and centre-back Mark Bradley (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/8974/bradleysoldno9.jpg) was sold to Weymouth for £100K also - I couldn't turn down £100K considering he'd dropped out of my first XI.

The search for new players went well - ex-Spurs youngster Right-Back Takura Mtandari (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/5295/mtandaridc9.jpg) arrived on a free and is rated as a good League One player, Defensive Midfielder Paul Mitchell (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/6224/mitchelljs3.jpg) also rated as a League One player arrived to shore up my midfield, which saw Sam Tierney drop back to defence.

I also boosted my strike force with the arrival of SuperKyle (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/8348/wilsonjd1.jpg) after he'd been released from the relagated Barrow, and he's proven to be a solid backup when not injured.

And ex-Notts County DM/CD Mike Edwards (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/8559/edwardsqv3.jpg) arrived in November to cover the injury to Mitchell - though he may need to drop into defence for something that will be explained later.

The rest of my improvements came courtsey of my new Parent Team Liverpool, who were obtain when we ditched Southport - I didn't really expect them to loan me anyone, I just took them for the money, I figured I'd see who'd like to come onloan and to my surprise 7 players agreed to come on loan.

Including young centre-back Martin Kelly (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/9772/kellyzi7.jpg), full-back James Rhodes (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/5245/rhodeskm1.jpg) - those two not so surprised with, they are both young local lads, however I never thought Moroccan International Nabil El Zhar (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/4084/zharvi9.jpg) or Hungarian Striker Andras Simon (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/7231/simonjh5.jpg) would agree to come, both rated as Premiership standard players by my scout, at least they make up for McClements refusing to comeback onloan.

However it was lucky I managed to bring in the above players, considering the boards minimum expectation was a title challenge (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/8986/09expectationszu3.jpg) (How can the short term goals be attempt to win the league, whilst the long term goals are obtain a respectable position? Also this was before I brought in any of the above players). Not that the fans were impressed we managed to sell one more season ticket than last season (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/8593/seasonticketshs6.jpg) - has anyone actually had those other 100 bought?

My team at least rose to the challenge in the league (so far), with our first league defeat occuring on Boxing day to 10man Bedford (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/564/firstdefeatwi9.jpg), but still comfortable top (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/4080/tableta2.jpg) though it took us forever to obtain our 13 point lead over Tamworth (who we actually hammered 7-0 http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif)

However the cups were a different story:

We needed a 90th minute goal from my captain Barron (who's goal was his first touch, having only just come on http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif) to beat Great Wakering (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/9695/facup2qreplaydx4.jpg) in the Second Qual. round on a replay, after the first match ended 1-1.

The Third Qual. round also saw us need a replay to beat King's Lynn 2-1 (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/4189/facup3qreplayfc1.jpg), the Fourth Qual. Round saw us drawn at home to rivals Southport who we hammered 5-0 (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/2626/facup4qxn2.jpg), setting up a First Round tie with League One Colchester, a near full house saw them batter us for the entire game, but we held on for a 0-0 draw (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/5802/facup1tv3.jpg), however the replay saw them hammer us 4-1 much to the dislike of my board. (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/7621/facup1replaymq1.jpg)

Our <A HREF="http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/5350/setantashieldwz3.jpg" TARGET=_blank>Setanta Shield campaign didn't even start with Solihull beating us on pens in the second round that we started in.

The FA Trophy saw us narrowly beat Ossett Albion 4-3</A>, before crashing 3-1 to King's Lynn (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/8248/fatrophy3qti4.jpg).

Then on Boxing day my season may have been destroyed (bad enough losing our first league game of the season), when my Chairman accepted a £250K bid for star centre-back Sam Tierney (http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/2219/stupidchairmantn7.jpg) http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Though with £400K in the bank the board refuse to improve the training or youth facilites prefering according to the confidence screen to spend it on a bonus for the board.

Comments on the updated Beta Patch (Applied before first match this season)

The match engine is a whole lot better now - whilst goals are still flying in, it actually appears to be down to the players ability now - I rip apart teams with high defensive lines or slow defenders, but deep defending teams throw themselves infront of the ball and gather rebounds (previously you just needed to get a shot on target to score), in goal my Keeper has actually been saving shots you expect him to, whilst in defence you can clearly see the difference in quality between my first choice defence and second choice.

Attendances last season were generaly between 650 and 850, this season, doing a lot better with have only had more than 550 (but still less than 600) fans in three league games from 14, which leaves us 12th overall in the league - which is better than FM2006 where we were nearly always bottom, except for the premership where we were bottom due to having the smallest ground. With FM2007 I played with Frickley and didn't have any problems - has anyone played with the same team since FM2006 or FM2007 and can compare their attendances?

Apart from the attendances I haven't noticed anything else amiss.

CHELMSFORD

I have just sold my only fit left back having not realised Jonny Harkness is out for 7 months. I also sold my right back for 150k hoping my reserve (Steve Tully) can step up to the plate.

I have taken a big risk with the above as I'm 13 points clear at the top of Conference with 12 games to go. If Andy Caton stays fit I'll go up, if he gets injured then who knows!

Is it deemmed ok to search for players yourself via the search function

I signed a couple of out of contract players.

I had accepted a couple of good offers at the end of the season for key players and let a few go who were at the end of contract. I was in th ebelief that my scouts who had done me proud the previous season would help me find replacements no problem - this was far from the case so I let the scouts go and replaced them with better.
With all of that happening the new season was approaching very fast and my squad was bare bones so I got a little desperate.

None of the new players are any better or worse than those that they replaced

The player search screen is fine, the text search box should be avoided.

I don't think the ******** are gonna give me a new contract. (http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/4647/grrrrrsy1.jpg) This is despite the fact that while we were slated to finish dead last in the BSN last year, we ended up in 10th place. We were labeled as "overachievers of the year," actually. We've got two guys in Ireland's U-19 squad and one in Wales's, despite being part-timers. Our Aidan Downes was the best player in the division with an average rating of 7.67.

Is there any quick fix to this that doesn't involve cheating? http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Good, was a bit worried that I'd have to start again

Talking of starting again - I did so when I won the league with Halesowen - but I had loaned lots of players from my then Parent Club Birmingham and felt it was not realistic

I thought that the beta patch out at the moment had fixed this issue. Are you running the beta patch? If not do you have a save from before the sacking, if so download and install beta patch and hope it kicks in and saves your job.

I've seen my 13 point lead erode to 6. I'm slightly worried as I cannot seem to win a game anymore.

On a brighter note, although contradicting the above, I've just secured my place in the FA Trophy final.

Anyone know roughly how much cash you get from gate receipts for this game?

Another nice little touch in this year's version. Granted I'm not at all interested in selling him at the moment, but seeing this news message makes the game feel even more real.

Life at the New Manor Ground - Season 2
2009/10 in the Blue Square North. September and October update.

Clearly we couldn't keep up such a spectacular start to the season. Whilst September would see consolidation, and another record result, the 7 games in October would yield just a single league victory, and a highly disappointing cup exit. More players would arrive to swell our squad and wage budget even further, whilst a handful of no-hopers would find themselves shipped out on loan to our feeder club, Belper.

September
It all started going wrong when Veiga was called away on international duty for the first game of the month. Despite having already lost the first 8 games of their World Cup qualifying campaign, the Cape Verde Islands manager insisted on calling up his three non-domestic players for the remaining fixtures. Without him, and despite taking a very early lead, we couldn't hold on against Stalybridge. Matt Somner picked up a knock in the last few minutes which would keep him out of the next fixture, but we still had enough to creep past a struggling Gateshead side. Two days later, however, we were inexplicably hammered at relegation threatened Altrincham, recording just their 2nd victory of the season.

Ugarte rescued us a point against Boston in the last minute, and two first half Tom Clarke goals got all three at Leigh, keeping us in touch with the leaders whilst the league took a break for some cup action. It wasn't all plain sailing, as ex Robins striker Dave Dixon thought he had scored an equaliser in the dying minutes, only to see it cruelly disallowed for an apparent foul. The referee played seven minutes of stoppage time (instead of the allotted four) in an attempt to offset his poor decision, but we kept the home side out.

The FA Cup had drawn us against Hucknall, a mid table side in our league. With the league being the most important challenge for us, a few players were rested, and fringe players such as Owen Story and Michael Powell were given starts. It all went unbelievably well, as we hit six past our distinctively off-colour visitors, with Ugarte claiming a hattrick, and the man of the match award for the first perfect performance of my reign. A fine way to end the month, and we would face lower-league neighbours Eastwood Town in the next round.

October
Mansfield very kindly sent us Ben Turner (http://img77.imageshack.us/img77/7127/11092007182346ys5.jpg) on loan for the rest of the season. But, wait a minute, he's a left back and we already have a left back on loan, from Mansfield! http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif. Droylsden were the first visitors of the month, and we went behind just before the break. Having fought back level, and taken the lead soon after, we proceeded to throw it away through a "Dodgy" own goal.

We could put league form to the back our minds again for a while, to concentrate on a fortnight of cup football. But first, Mr Guentchev brough Mr. Zagorski (http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/8965/11102007124417bf8.jpg) to the club to give a little more flair in the centre of midfield. He marked his debut with a goal - the second - at Hyde to see us through to the 2nd round of the Setanta Shield.

We travelled to Eastwood without Veiga (off on his travels again) and had to cope with a strong start from the lower league side. They took the lead, and we lost Tom Clarke to what looked a serious injury early in the second half. Mark King rescued us, and earned us a replay at home which we should have proved comfortable...

...and yet the pattern was reversed for the replay. The Great Dane put us ahead just before the break, and we looked to hit them on the break for the the last 20 minutes. It backfired, as they worked an equaliser seven minutes from the end. They then went on to hit us on the break no less than three times in extra time, Unbelievable.

That really seemed to dent out confidence. We could only draw at Hyde, where we had scored three earlier in the month, and we lost the next two games by the odd goal in three. The latter of the two, at Harrogate who we would face in the next round of the Setanta Shield, saw the debut of our latest signing, Kristian Dennis (http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/9350/11102007124535gj2.jpg), from the bench. He'd been brought in purely for pace off the bench, but sadly couldn't finish for toffee http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif We finished the month with a win, though only just, over the Hucknall side we hammered recently, and in front of just 283 fans, a new league low.

King's Lynn (39), with their Norwich loanees, are two clear of Bedford (37). Barrow (30), with their top scorer SUPER KYLE (14 in 18) are currently third, and incidently have 2 parent clubs in Crewe and Carlisle.

Four Ilkeston players command greater than 7 average rating, led by Poul Hübertz, with Mark King and Matt Somner also unsurprisingly in the mix. One real surprise in the list is Lee Dodgson, who the board were so keen for me to justify last season.

Point of interest - one of my players, Mo Harkin, actually scored IRL in the FA Cup this weekend

i'll make this brief, with a more comprehensive update to come tomorrow, but i'm currently top of the league with Matlock at the end of September 2008. From 9 league matches, our record is 8-1-0, which i'm delighted about...

i have a lot to thank my strikers for, especially Darryl Knighs, who's hit 14 goals in 11 games!! http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif let's hope he keeps it up!!

as i say, i'll post a more detailed update tomorrow with screenshots.

Come on you Gladiators!!

Stamford - League 2 - 2020/21 End of Season Update

The Coca-Cola League 2 seems to be quite interesting. Top 7 teams get promotion or playoff places, and only 2 teams get relegated. Making it in theory a simpler division to stay in and possibly easier to progress from.

Saying that, after my promotion from the BSP last season, I knew I had to strengthen my defence and see if I could survive. Luckily noone told my players they were playing in a higher division and thus continued there form from the previous season.

A final finish of 9th in the league, only 2 points away from a playoff place, has to be a good result for a first season in a division. Just wonder what next season will hold for me.

The league cup and paint trophy were a waste of time, but we did cause 2 upsets against league 1 sides to get to the 3rd round of the FA Cup, where I was forced to play most of my 2nd choice players against an in form Liverpool side.

Overall a good first season in League 2, and if I can hold onto my good young players, next season could be just as good if not better.

Plans for next season:
Earn more money so my board my consider a stadium expansion
Otherwise just continue as this season and see what happens.

As a side note, I have now played 13 seasons, and have asked my board both in June and December of each season about affiliates, both feeder and parent clubs and they still cant see the point of creating links with other clubs. Wish I was at least getting the message that they couldnt find anyone suitable, as that would show more willing at least http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

How have you managed to play that many seasons? Agree with your points re: two down and 4 up - much easier than Conference.

I hope to get there soon - 5 points clear at top of Conf with 3 games to go. I have a big backlog of games though having got to final of FA Trophy so my teams fitness is really poor. I think one win will do it

Probably played so much since I only work for about 4 hours a day, and havent had much else to do recently.

A good FA Trophy run, coupled with any form of setanta shield run and a few games postponed for internationals, and you may as well give up on expecting any of your players to be fit from March - May.

I'd love to suggest getting a Fitness Coach, but since I didnt get any replies ever from my advert for it in the BSP, I have no idea if that would actually work.

I think one win will do it </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

</div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I have a fitness coach - rating 17 on fitness and averages 4 stars when coupled with strength. It does no good - I'm only supposed to have 1 coach but I have 7

Quick half season update, before I go to bed. The might of the Mangotsfield are going pretty well in the BSP currently lying in 2nd place, 7 points behind Ebbsfleet. Got to the second round of the F.A cup, where i ran a very strong Sheff United side, containing James Beattie, going down 2-1. Full update tomorrow, when hopefully with a bit of luck, I'll complete the season.

How did you get your fitness coach then, because I just placed a new advert and the first week has given no response as always. I have 6 assorted coaches at the moment, but could do with a fitness coach I think.

Hmm. The only filters I use (at a non-league level) are Employed: No, and Fitness: 15+. I find that if that ass man option is ticked, he tends to filter out staff who are actually willing to sign for the club...

Just tried that and got a total of 5 staff up on the list. Maybe I should try that again once the league reset has been done.

Do you sign them as a dedicated fitness coach, or just a general coach?

CHELMSFORD 11/12

Just got promoted to League 2. Last day of the season saw me needing to win against Forest Green at home. They went one up before I scored two. In the last minute they had two shots cleared off the line.

I lost a 13 point lead at one stage. Relieved to go up, but I bit my nails causing them to bleed.

I have the FA Trophy final to come. I'll post the score when I play it and a season update tomorrow. For what its worth Andy Caton has now scored 46 goals in 52 games this season, (32 league goals in 45)

I got hammered 4-0 in the final. Disappointed? Not really - promotion was the aim.

I lost my keeper with 2 games to go and really struggled. The 100k income from the gate will go down really well. I have almost 800k in the bank now, ready for my assualt on League 2.

Here's hoping...

Well, delayed on playing it slightly as my pizza delivery arrived, http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif but right back to it now...

Despite the advice you just gave me kccircle, I elected not to rest players, as I thought I'd need form more than energy, and Exeter had given me a 4-0 hammering earlier in the year. Plus, Matt Smith had picked up a knock in the first leg which left him out injured for a few days, so I was going to have to give myself the best chance to make the final.

That, said...

We draw Barnet for the final, who finished 2nd in the table but we picked up 6 points on during the season.

Damn that was nervewracking. Very even game, and when Barnet went up I wasn't very confident about us getting back into it. But, a fortunate bounce off of a corner was enough to send it into extra time, and the return of Matt Smith after injury, even if he had to start on the bench, was what we needed to put us through in extra time. So, it's time for League Football!

Chippenham Town - 2011/12 - Blue Square Premier - End of Season Update

And thus, it was a season that went from excitement, to disappointment, to excitement. It started off well, including a 21-game unbeaten run, before a downturn in the 2nd half of the year. Yet despite backing into the playoffs, we managed to turn things around just in time to get ourselves promoted. So far the pattern's been one season to establish ourselves in the league, one more to earn promotion, and we can only hope it continues in this vein.

Gloucester City Tigers Update :League Two

Well we're in preseason now with the Tigers, the board offered us O for transfer fees but a massive hike in wage budgets. Good think everyone was already on pro-salaries. This allowed me to move a fraction of that to the transfer budget.

Last season I managed to move over 100k thanks to the sale of one of our stars, this season with 80k I'm trying desperately to land a keeper my scouts have found. At last count the club turned down a 60K transfer bid.

Managed to pick up another defender and strengthened my backline. So lets hope upfront we still keep finding the back of the net. My assman is doing a pretty decent job at winning friendly matches..he just won the last one 8nil..better than me..i've managed to lose all friendly matches thus far.

Well see you guys in a bit

A dedicated fitness coach is paid less, so it's better for your wage budget. Although they can only train Strength and Aerobic.

Matlock Town - Blue Square North - 27th September 2008

after a pretty decent pre-season, my hopes for the season were to challenge for the play-offs, despite my board wanting us to establish ourselves in the league. This was based on the fact that i had managed to sign a lot of my better players i'd had for my one season in charge of Worksop, which had seen me lose in the play-off final. i had respectable 1-1 home draws with Sheffield Wednesday and Yeovil, which had boosted my confidence.

With a wage budget of £2.3k p/w, i have built my squad for the challenge under a bit of restriction. i have a couple more loan players than i would like, but with a tight budget, my desire to sign some quality players, plus my wish to earn promotion asap, i have had to do it.

League Table (http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/923/table27sept2008od7.jpg)

as the league table shows, i'm currently flying in the league, although obviously it's early days and i don't want to count my chickens yet. plus, when i post positive updates, my form tends to nosedive!! http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif but anyway, it's a risk worth taking. the league table shows that i'm currently scoring goals for fun whilst pretty tight at the back (which i'm particularly pleased with) season highlights so far include the 7-1 away demolition of Alfreton and the 4-2 away win over Worcester. In fact, i'm delighted with my awy form in general, which had been average with Worksop.

Fixtures (http://img204.imageshack.us/my.php?image=fixtures27sept2008xa5.jpg)

i'm pleased with my squads performance as a whole but i can't deny that the form of one man in particular has gone a long way in my success so far. His name is Darryl Knights, and he's a Matlock legend already!!

Darryl Knights - Superstar (http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/6776/knights27sept2008tw3.jpg)

His goalscoring record of 14 in 11 games is brilliant, and included 4 in the demolition of Alfreton. He has pretty much everything you could ask for in a striker - namely pace and the ability to finish. I had to include a minimum fee release clause of £190,000 in his contract to sign him, but i hope to be able to negotiate a new deal soon....

First-Team Squad (http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/7720/squad27sept2008dl1.jpg)

As i have said, my squad has performed well as a whole so far. some of the stars of the team so far have been Gardner and Siclair, my two wing wizards, Oliver Hotchkiss pulling the strings in the middle of the park, and Zavon Hines providing good support to Knights. I have included screenshots below:

Gardner - Right Midfield (http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/3499/gardner27sept2008wl0.jpg)
Sinclair - Left Midfield (http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/2092/sinclair27sept2008cp3.jpg)
Oliver Hotchkiss - Centre Midfield (http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/2561/hotchkiss27sept2008zn7.jpg)
Zavon Hines - Centre Forward (http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/1738/hines27sept2008dw7.jpg)

Hopefully i can maintain this sort of form and continue the promotion push through the Autumn and beyond. The only thing i am concerned with is the small monthly profits that we're making - looks like i need a good cup run!! am only getting about 600 through the gates at the moment. As well as this, i've noticed that my chairman is willing to listen to offers for the club, so i will need to keep my eye on this as well.

will post more soon.

Chelseadaft Chippenham Town Blue Square Premier 2013/2014

Well this was my first season in the Blue Square Premier after spending 5 seasons trying to get there. My board asked me to avoid relegation and i just about managed it, which is pleasing that i didnt go straight back down.

It was one of those seasons where you just wanna make sure you dont go back down. I was pleased with the outcome. Brought some more players in and got rid of the deadwood and survived, apart from that not much else to say about this season. Time to rebuild for the coming season to improve on this one.

Just been offered a new 2 year contract with the same expectation, to avoid relegation which is fair enough. Lets hope i can improve on this seasons position!

Jsa's Chippenham Town End of Season Update.
Season 19/20

well all in all my first season in he championship has been largely a dissapointment managed to barely scrap through above the relegation zone on goal differnce alone. According to my Ass man 90% of my squad is not good enough to play at this level, but due to 2 consecutive stadium size increases and now a new stadium i now have an 11mill loan debt meaning i am a little strapped for cash making the signing of new players a bit tough. Looks like i am going to have to sell a few players, unfortuantly the only ones that are going to give me any decent amount of cash are the few who are good enough to play in this league.

I think me second season is likely to be as tough as the first.

Just started the challenge.

I have taken over Merthyr Tydfil and I will post my screenshot in a minute.

It's my first time trying the challenge so here we go.

I'm surprised you're employing Sinclair on the wing. He's an excellent target man, and racked up 30 odd goals for me in that role during the first season.

heybridge swifts 2015-16 BSP (sorry no pics-work)

An improvement from 19th to 13th and a trophy in the cabinet in the much maligned Setanta Shield show that steps are being made in the right direction.

The turning point in the season around christmas came about from a shift from direct 442 to a cultured short passing 4321 formation, it allowed my exellent dribbling striker space on the right flank to destroy oppositions, however his market value seems to be falling as a result of being played out of position.

Next season for the first time we have a squad capable of challenging, and likes of Luton or Whitby wont be able to dominate as in previous seasons. Indeed mid table is expected by the board and they've even given me 120k to spend! Wahoo, now i've got to decide where to waste my money!

Oops!! when i say Sinclair on the wing, i meant Myles Weston!! i don't know why but i thought his name was sinclair too!! http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif I think i brought him in on loan as a result of seeing your post. As Hines and Knights are so prolifice at the moment, Sinclair is one of my two substitute strikers. Has done well so far considering not had a run of matches as yet.

how stupid do i feel!! http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Bedford 2009/10 Blue Square Premier

Made a little changes for my first season in blue square premier. The link with Rushden was cancelled and now I have Watford as parent club. I loaned two great players from them and a striker from Leicester. Signed a couple of other players for free. Still 0K to spend. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

With the time I have built I think that i can avoid being relegated but need more quality players to mount a promotion. Hope to have a little luck and do well this season.

A fantastic first season in the BSP. Finished the league in 2nd place, but went down to Dagenham & Redbridge in the playoff finals. Made the final of the FA Trophy, but lost on penalties, and reached the Quarter Finals of the Sentanta Shield. The club's finances also steadied this season, probably from the increase in attendances. Hopefully more of the same to come next season...

Can't believe this, going to have to restart as my Hendon game got lost in a mixup with files being deleted, the latest save I have is from when I was in league one but I really can't go back to that seeing so much had changed since then. Might just wait for the patch & then do it as it doesn't seem too long away now,

Gutted http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

(was totally my fault as well, hence the annoyance with myself, should learn to leave things be but I'm a tidy freak, I hate having files I don't need on my pc taking up space http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif)

You must be gutted, I think that's even worse than having your game ruined by a bug or a stupid chairman, at least then you get to have a bit of a rant.

Ouch, i'd be inconsolable if my game somehow got deleted.

Does that make me the only premiership player? http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

jus finished my 3rd season as afc wimbledon .

finshed 8th with 66 points

was quite dissapointed as i wanted promotion.

bringing in a lot of players in on trail as i prepare for my fourth season in the blue sqaure south , with michael bridges being the biggest name , hopefully hell add 10/15 goal a season to my team .lost a rock at the back in the shape of alan stubbs.

plus i have just been offerd a new 2 year contract , which will see me to the end of the 12/13 season

so far

season 08/09: played 42 won 22 drew 7 lost 13 points 73 - 4th (lost in play off semi finals 2-1(agg))

season 09/10: played 42 won 17 drew 8 lost 17 points 59 - 8th

season 10/11: played 42 won 18 drew 12 lost 12 points 66 - 8th

Think I'm gonna leave it a week or two before I restart, not even sure what team to go now as it won't be Hendon that's for sure.

I'll be back though, guess the upside is I still have the tactics I used throughout the leagues so can use that as a base for the new start.

The question is do I sign the players I liked before, ie Ademeno etc http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Since there is a data update with the patch, things should be different second time around, they were last time anyway.

I tend to sign lots of regens anyway, so I wont have that problem, but I hope some new clubs appear.

Banbury go up

After a tough start to the season, Banbury managed a strong second half due to some inspired signings over the winter period. Finishing with a record point tally (for the team) of 102 the Puritans are heading up to League 2.

Banbury have over the summer released or sold 80% of their squad and after collecting a great 4-4 draw in a friendly with Olympique de Marseille it should be an intresting season ahead!

Good idea Dafuge, ideally I'd really like to get Harlow Town as they were my original hope but didn't have any luck on reloads but maybe with the update they might come up, fingers crossed http://community.sigames.com/customicons/icon14.gif

3Sixtys Chippenham Town Update 2015-2016 January Update

Table (http://img160.imageshack.us/my.php?image=11122007204641qq5.jpg)

Pretty nice going at the half way point, could be better, we have played some really nice football but our defense is abit poor.

Squad (http://img215.imageshack.us/my.php?image=11122007205322jd1.jpg)

Looking pretty good now, my keeper even grabbed the 2nd goal of his career this season.

Transfers (http://img46.imageshack.us/my.php?image=11122007205604lk0.jpg)

A few more added since the last update, including a great CM from Standard, plus a few 16 year old Italians for my youth set up.

Im out of the FA cup and League cup already http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif but lets me focus on the league.

More detailed update come end of season.

Hitchin Town in the Blue Sqare South 2008/09
End of season report

A promising first season for Hitchin I feel. We finished in 8th in the Blue Square South with 61 points. League Table (http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m52/supermas_2006/hitchinbss0809.jpg)

As the season drew on, we gelled as a team, producing better performances and results, in reality I feel we could have reached the playoffs but for a poor start and bad run of form toward the end of the season.

The cups were a disaster:
FA Cup - 3rd qualifying round : AFC Hornchurch 6 - 1 Hitchin http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
FA Trophy - 1st Round: Stafford 1 - 0 Hitchin
Setanta Shield - 1st Round : Hitchin 1 - 1(p) Thurrock

My top scorer was James Clifford (http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m52/supermas_2006/jamesclifford09.jpg) who did well, despite slightly unimpressive stats.

My best player was, unfortunately, on loan from West Ham - Tony Stokes (http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m52/supermas_2006/tonystokes09.jpg), although I was pleased he was my only loan player who I relied on.

My parent club is MK Dons, who didn't really send anyone of great use.

For next season

I hope to sign a couple of new defenders, midfielders and another striker.

I think with this sort of strengthing, we should be able to push on for the playoffs next year.

CHELMSFORD 2011/12 REVIEW

Great season for Chelmsford. At one stage we were 13 points clear at the top. Selling my only fit left back and 1st choice right back in the January window knowing they were not good enough for League 2 and also out of contract almost backfired, but we made it.

League Table (http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q244/kccircle/?action=view&current=Table-2.jpg)

My best players this season are limited to one individual - Andy (http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q244/kccircle/?action=view&current=AndyCaton-3.jpg) Caton (http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q244/kccircle/?action=view&current=AndyCatonHistory.jpg). He has basically score me the goals to get us into the Football League. Other notable players who have been with me since the beginning include Steven Arnold (http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q244/kccircle/?action=view&current=StevenArnold.jpg) and Alex Campana (http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q244/kccircle/?action=view&current=AlexCampana-2.jpg).

New additions to the squad at the start of the season were Jason Marsden (http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q244/kccircle/?action=view&current=JasonMarsden.jpg), Derek Wilkinson (http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q244/kccircle/?action=view&current=DerekWilkinson.jpg) (both from Charlton - my feeder club) and Aaron Morgan (http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q244/kccircle/?action=view&current=AaronMorgan.jpg). Special notice must be made to Michael Noone (http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q244/kccircle/?action=view&current=MichaelNoone.jpg) who makes me chuckle every time he gets a text mention. (Noone passes, Noone scores etc)

My Finances (http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q244/kccircle/?action=view&current=Finances-1.jpg) are looking well and having just received the league 2 TV money I should achieve a mini goal of having a million in the bank.

Finally, my profile (http://s138.photobucket.com/albums/q244/kccircle/?action=view&current=Profile-3.jpg)sadly shows a low stat for Club/Player Loyalty (anyone give me a possible reason why?)

My club have just turned professional so I imagine I will have to renew all the contracts of those I wish to stay. I think I might try and keep Andy Caton as long as I can - he has certainly deserved my loyalty.

As a footnote (Jonny Harkness) my talisman free kick taker has missed most of last season with cruciate ligament problems. He has a month before he is ready to return and hopefully he can step up to league 2 football. My board only expect me to avoid relegation - I'll be happy with that.

anybody who has caton

oh my god. he's such a miserable b'stard. we've just turned a much needed corner and won 4 games in a row. my first team squad's morale is soaring. Caton is drawing attention, as usual, and i get a lot of media questions...

there is no right answer to these questions! no matter what i say, his morale is 'very poor'.

he's worried he wont live up to everybody's expectations or he feels undervalued.

he's unhappy that his future may not lie with the club, if i suggest he's too good to keep, but if i say i'll hang onto him, he says he's worried he wont be able to leave to fulfil his ambitions...

i swear, if he wasn't the only good player i have, and the only reason i've not been sacked yet, i'd sell him...

Halesowen update second season

After finishing a good 9th last season i decided to get rid of most of my players as i was taking on too much debt so all the fringe players who i didnt need went on a free transfer this cost quite a bit to get rid of them bit i think in the long run it will smallen the large debt of 200k i have.

I have just played my first 12 games tonight and i am doing suprisngly well Adam Le Fondre is a goal machine and banging them in my defence is not the best but i guess when you have goalscorers you can actually do well in this league i am very pleased with the way things are going at the moment hopefully i can get a first place finish or at least a playoff spot. The League Table is here (http://i11.tinypic.com/87l4bvd.jpg)

I just realised i haven't posted any updates and i'm now in jan of my 3rd season, so i'll make them quick.

Halesowen BSN 08/09

Started off the season with 50 players in the squad, but soon realised there were of a very poor quality, i got rid of 20 before the first league game. My top 2 strikers got injured for 2 months each in august and i kept getting hammered by 4 or 5 goals, by mid-sep i was in the bottom 3. Luckily i found this player who changed things considerably
Islander (http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q128/Thebaker14/lind09.jpg)

I had also put my right winger up front to cover the loss of my strikers and he never stopped scoring all year http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Paul (http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q128/Thebaker14/paul09.jpg)

When my main striker who i found rated at league 1/2 standard came back the results really improved and i shot up the table before a late stumble cost me a playoff place .
Hudson (http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q128/Thebaker14/hudsin09.jpg)
Table09 (http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q128/Thebaker14/table09.jpg)

Got to the first round of the fa cup and fell at the first hurdle in fa trophy and SS.

Halesowen BSN 09/10

Found a couple of players to pad out the squad inc myles weston who was superb at providing the chances for my strikers. I found this player
Greaves (http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q128/Thebaker14/greaves.jpg)

Paul and Hudson also scored 20+ goals in the season as i was always near the top and won with 3 games to go.
Table 10 (http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q128/Thebaker14/table10-1.jpg)

My performance in the cups was poor, lost in 4th qual of the fa cup and in the first matches i played in the fa trophy and SS.

Due to this and paying out 130K for winning the league i ended the year 250K in debt.
The finance bar was at zero with the board distraught!
In fact i got the feeling i only kept my job as i was 3K under my wage budget which they then cut for the next season.
I felt forced to sell my best player Lindegaard for 50K +25% sell on to improve things.

Stamford - League 2 - 2021/22 End of Season Update

After a disasterous start to the season, the team started to remember how to play football and they have finished the season in 7th place and the playoffs. Due to a run of bad form at the moment, we missed out on auto promotion, so I am not too hopeful for the playoffs.

My aim for the next season regardless of which division I am in, is to seriously rebuilt half the squad. I have too much dead weight at the moment, and need some better skilled players.

I'm waiting for the patch before I start this though I am doing a kind of similar thing with Bedford at the moment. Got promoted in my second season to the BSP but relegated back down straight away (one win away from staying up http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif ) due to the complete lack of any players coming to me that were better than what I already had.

Its all good.

League 2 Playoff Final (http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/2280/stam2122finalyb8.jpg)

I'm not overly surprised, and not too disappointed at the result. I didnt feel we were ready to go up, and that was proved. Providing I can resist the silly money offered for most of my squad, I should be able to have a good chance next season.

all i would suggest is get your scouts look at free transfers, have a lok at youngsters who are available on loan (don't select the filter unrealistic targets option - players may not want to sign for you but may be willing to join on loan) and have a look at some people who've been signed by other players on here. if they've done well for them there's a fair chance they can do the same for you.

hope that helps

most people are given a fair chance by the board - you'll probably not get sacked unless you get relegated. you're main task will be getting offered a new contract when your current deal ends!!

Both fixed in the second beta patch release.

I dare say a lot of people want to restart with the patch, which explains why this thread isn't as busy as it has been in the past.

Margate - Blue Square South - 2008/09 - Pre-Season
So, having taken over a team with no senior players or staff, I've gone for the "Old men playing past their peak, but probably might do a decent job in non-league" approach. Although, according to friendly results (http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/4236/picture1qr0.png) , whether this works at all seems rather unlikely.

The chairman has just started talks over selling the club, so I can't help feel I'll be lucky to make it to Christmas at this rate!

Life at the New Manor Ground - Season 2
2009/10 in the Blue Square North. November and December update.

I've petitioned the board for an official change of the club nickname from The Robins to The Swallows, because they always **** off for the winter. I'm fuming so much with the drop of form over this period that I really am not going to write any more general blurb here.

November
The month started well. We hammered Witton away and nicked a draw against Hinkley at home, which other than being the wrong way round (in terms of location and relative strength of opposition) was fine. Then we entered the usual cup fixture period, disposing of a strong Harrogate side in the Setanta Shield and (eventually) getting rid or Blue Square South side Worcester in the replay to progress to the first round proper of the Trophy. Winter started the following Saturday, though, with a 2-0 loss to league leaders King's Lynn. Given their strength (and their Norwich City players) I didn't expect anything else. December
We managed just two wins in 8. FO season of goodwill http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

A win over Hinckley (again) in the Third Round of the Setanta competition paired us with Blue Square Premier opposition in Weymouth. Given that we were also scheduled to face similar opposition in the First Round of the Trophy in the same week, December should have been something to look forward to. A defeat away at AFC Telford and a bore draw at Blyth didn't help ticket sales, and we crashed out of both competitions 1-0 with an aggregate crowd of less than 400. We saved our best result of the month for our local rivals Alfreton, who must be really sick of seeing us as we beat them 3-1 at their place.

Come Boxing Day we gift wrapped a 1-0 home win for bottom of the league Solihull. Disgraceful.

Which just left Barrow, flying high and finishing off their year with a solid 2-1 win at the New Manor Ground. SUPER KYLE couldn't even get on the pitch, but they've found another super striker in Alex Titchener, who they have on loan from parent club Crewe.

King's Lynn (Pts 54, Parent Norwich, Players on Loan 2) still lead by only 2 points from Bedford (52, Rochdale, 2). Then it's Barrow (48, Crewe & Carlisle, 3) and Leigh (46, none, none). Three points separate the next 4 clubs, and we're a further 5 behind in 9th.

Somehow, 5 of my playing staff manage to keep hold of greater than 7 average ratings. Now the group are dominated left wingers, with Alex Rigley and Mark King leading the list, and Lee Dodgson in 4th. Hubertz remains up there, but has had a poor couple of months in front of goal, whilst Bulgarian Trayanov creeps in for the first time on the back of three 8s in a row.

The only positive? It's time to think about contract renewals. There won't be many of them being offered.

I started over as Banbury since everyone was being Chippenham. Found it much harder to get players with just 100 less reputation and I am really depending on loans for my squad.

I have however won 4 out of 5, scoring 15 goals.

So I recently came across this thread, and found it to be a great challenge to take up in the new FM 08. I have much experience with FM, including both big name clubs, Juventus, Newcastle, and even LLM, as I brought lowly Newport Co to a full time squad in the Championship before quitting. Tactically, I play with a 4-4-2 Diamond Attacking, as I enjoy having an AMC get into the attack, but also enjoy the rearguard support and cutoff ability a DMC provides. I use a combination of Cleons individual instructions, Matt's training tactics (the new 08 ones), and my own team instructions, additional player instructions, scouting decisions, and opposition instructions. Ill try to summarize my success thus far, having just been promoted to the Blue Square Premier in my 2nd season at the helm.

2008/2009 - Tiverton Town - Blue Square South (22-10-10 - 76 PTS - 3rd Place)

This was my first season in charge, and expectations weren't too high. As many know, Tiverton Town has Plymouth as a parent club, so using them was vital to early on success. Originally, starting out, I was still trying to field the best eleven I could manage to find. I had a transfer budget of 0, and a wage budget of 4.6K. I ended up signing a legit staff, best I could, including physio, scout, GK coach, youth coach, coach, ass man, etc.
To summarize this season, I started off poor, losing 3-0, 5-0, etc. I couldn't figure out what was going on, or find my form. Eventually, I picked up a few young strikers from Plymouth, including Anthony Mason, Joe Mason, and Ashley Barnes. This coupled with some of their CB's, and AMR/L led to some decent results. I was using opposition instructions each game, and based off scout reports, was tactically spot on. I ended up going on a 17 match unbeaten run mid to late in the season, before losing to a team playing a 4-2-4 all game. It was unfortunate. Anyways, I soon jumped from 21st to mid-table, to playoff contention, before ending in 3rd. Right before the league fixtures ended, my star striker and highest scorer Anthony Mason got a bad hip injury, and without a specialist in my club, I had to terminate his loan so he could receive treatment at Plymouth. This was unfortunate, and back he went to Plymouth, out for 2-4 months.

Playoffs
Was playing Bath, the 4th place team, who I didn't do so hot in league with. First game, I was away, and squeezed out a 1-1 draw with out Mason, and a vital away goal. 2nd game, now at home, I went down 1-0 around the 75th minute, and pushing for the 2nd NEEDED goal, ended up losing 2-0. Dreams of promotion in my first season were crushed, and Bath ended up winning the next game, and being promoted. Back to the drawing board...another season in BSS.

2009/2010 - Tiverton Town - Blue Square South (31-8-3 - 101 PTS - 1st Place)

Back again for another season, and knowing that I could string together series of wins, and go undefeated for a long time, my confidence was high. I was expected to finish 6th, and without any increase in budgets, I used my loan options. Beauty of BSS is that there is no loan limits, or transfer date restrictions, so it seems. My immediate priority over the summer was to get Anthony Mason back, since he was lethal last season. Eventually, him and many others were back, as I was limited in the others I could sign. To say that I was a Plymouth U-18's/Reserve squad would be a near accurate description. I picked up Lloyd Saxton at the end of last season, and he was much better than my GK Howard. Saxon was also on loan from Plymouth.
Anyways, started off with a draw in league, but once again found form soon, and started producing solid wins. Some were close, only by 1 goal margins, (ie, 3-2, 4-3, etc), but a wins a win, and these were crucial as it later turned out. A Mason and J Mason immediately were making an impact, combining for a great amount of goals. I would play "Use Target Man" and "Use Playmaker". A Mason was my TM, and I would play Run Onto Ball EVERY game, as his speed was so effective against the LLM BSS defenders, and he loved getting into space. My AMC was given Free Role, and did well with this.
To summarize this season, I was in first, and stayed there for majority of the season. Made it to 4th round of Setanta Shield, and FA Trophy, only first round of FA Cup, but none of that was too important (only good for some $$$). I ended up beating my previous record of 17 games unbeaten, and went 18 unbeaten. As you can see below, I dominated the league, winning outright with 4 games in hand, and ending with 101 points, a new BSS record. Anthony Mason had FIFTY ONE goals in the BSS (new record as well, along with his 17 MOM's'), and was named Player of the Season, along with myself being named Manager of the Season. Him and I each won the monthly awards no more than 3 times throughout the year, and Mason had a 7.95 rating. My other strikers combined for another 50 goals or so, and tactically, I was even more spot on this season. Ended up 31-8-3, with 119 GF, 51 GA.
Im looking forward to the BSP now, and I am aware of the 4 player U23 loan restriction, so Ill try to manage.

I plan to get in a few more, including a left back.

I started my pre-season with a mini tour of America played DC untied and lost 2-0 and Played LA galaxy and lost 2-1. Not the best of starts im sure you'll agree. I then played a game against my feeder club Solihull Moors, which i won 3-1.

I also got a new feeder club, some team in the German 2nd Division, they have given me loads of new countries in the teams knowledge section.

Going to cancel my link with Margate and hopefully get offered the same polish club i did earlier for work permit problems.

CHELMSFORD - Season 12/13 League 2

I have yet to start the campaign but have managed to cancel my link with Charlton and set up another one with Chelsea. They are sending me a first rate left back which put me in a dilemma - Jonny Harkness, my current left back, has been with me from the start and scored free kicks galore. I'd play him at left mid but Chelsea sent me a left winger who is fantastic too.

My heart says to keep Harkness but the Chelsea kid is pretty darn good!

IMO there's no such thing as a kop out in this challenge. The only minor advatage you'll ahve is a little extra cash and a slightly better reputation that will amke it easier to sign players.

The downside is that you'll already start with a lot of players, most of whom you would never have signed anyway and have to try to get rid of.
With a lower reputation team you'll have free rein to sign a whole new team and backroom staff to fit your playing style and ideas.

Promotion, Relegation and LL Treble Success

It's been an eventful 5 years at Chippenham.

The first season saw us gain promotion via the play-offs.

The second season saw us miss out on the play-offs.

The third season was a disastrous campaign which saw us finish a disappointing 22nd and get relegated back to the South. Utterly devastated, I sold off half my squad. In hindsight, I probably should have kept on to a promising 20 y.o who would go on to be a Championship player.

The fourth season was the beginning of the revival.

Reverting back to the old and trusty target man approach, my explosive Caribbean striker who I almost sold off came up with the goods and bagged goal after goal supported by a rising Scottish 20 y.o star in the making. The defense was marshaled by another up and comer Jamaican defender who was targeted by Championship clubs all through the season. Being the ambitious lad that he was, at one point he was ready to move on but luckily enough, I had him for another year and he got his head down and concentrated on moving the club forward.

The league race was close and wasn't decided until after the final match. Having the advantage on GD, a win or draw would secure us the league. A loss could see us miss out by a point. We got the victory in the end, 2 nil up at HT and never looking like relinquishing the lead.

But we weren't done for the season yet. The Setanta Shield final awaited. It would be the BSS winner against the BSP winner. Chippenham vs Barnet. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be our day. A missed penalty and more chances wasted and we were made to pay by a lucky Barnet side who scored with their only shot on target. Awful!

The fifth and final year of my contract would be my best season ever.

The existing squad was reinforced by a few more signings. A new partnership with Championship side Reading saw another explosive winger join the side displacing the club favourite Junior Brown who had been reliable over the past 4 years. A couple more loans came through but they struggled to break into the senior team and were left to the reserve fixtures. The squad oozed quality such that I had 2 BSP teams in one. The rotation policy was put into action with no drop in performance. The All Blacks tried it and it failed them when it mattered. I had no intention of my team repeating that. All through the season I ironed out any thoughts of overconfidence in the team. Every team was treated with respect.

By mid-season we were sitting pretty at the top and after 42 games, we had the opportunity to secure the league with a win (or draw) over our only challenger, Torquay. Both teams had been undefeated for a while and both had scored over a 100 goals each. It would be the showdown between the leagues top goal scorers. Goals aplenty were predicted for the match. Having trounced them 7 nil earlier in the season, I warned the boys about complacency - and the boys delivered. Within an hour we were cruising. 6-1 ahead and the league secured. 2 late goals were conceded but that was mere consolation. Surprisingly, both the league's top goal scorers failed to score.

With the title in the bag, we put our thoughts into our next 2 big games. The Setanta Shield final and the FA Trophy final.

SS Final: Chippenham v Kettering

After losing the previous final which we should have won, this year would be our redemption. We almost faltered in the semi-final against MK Dons. Down a goal at the break, the boys came together to win 4-2. What a turnaround that was. The Chippenham captain attributed that to my words at half-time. Our explosive Caribbean striker wasn't in form that day and I was concerned he would choke in the final as he did the previous year. And that he did. Thankfully, we were playing relegation threatened Kettering and dominated the match. The 2-0 victory failed to reflect our dominance.

FAT Final: Chippenham v Rochdale

We breezed through the semi-finals against Dag & Red winning 7-2 on aggregate. Rochdale would prove a much tougher opposition. Having only beaten them once in our last 5 meetings or so, the cards were stacked against us. As the only team to start with a 4-3-2-1 formation, we knew the defense would have to be at their best. Their keeper was also a nemesis. The return from injury of our first choice fullback was a morale booster.

The first half was tense and we went into the break nil all. The Caribbean international was again missing gifted chances and I started to wonder if he had it in him. I willed the boys to give their best and we went into the 2nd half in high spirits. That quickly turned into despair in the 54th minute after a keeper bound shot deflected twice off two defenders and into the net. An own goal by non other than the fullback! Should I have stuck with the replacement fullback who was doing a decent job for the past 3 games? The thought came to haunt me.

Nevertheless we persevered as we went full out on attack. Chances came and went and I thought about replacing the under-performing Caribbean striker who kept missing chance after chance. The breakthrough finally came in the 70th minutes. The loan from Reading who had been in exceptional form this season with a season high 22 assists broke down the wing, cut in and layed a beautiful cross onto my Scottish target man who lashed it home with a powerful header - and we were back in it!

After 90 minutes, extra time beckoned. With 15 minutes left, I made a gamble and brought off the tired Scot. The Caribbean was still missing chances but I knew I just could not bring him off. 3 minutes remaining and the replacement target man was in the box. The loan from Reading headed the ball his way from a deep cross and he in turn layed it off for the Caribbean. 3 defenders stranded, 1 keeper to beat. He shoots! He scores! We win! An absolutely ******* beautiful match to end the season. C'mon The Bluebirds!!!

After a slow start in the league, we hit the top after twenty games and never looked back. Hereford were close behind, up until February/March, when they had a bad run of results. We didn't really have any impact in the cups at all, the best run being to the Quarter Finals of the Sentanta Shield.

Also, there's already been a few players asking to move to bigger clubs, so it's gonna be tough to hold onto my best players for the next season.

Pre season started with a 1-0 home win against FC United, although we should have won by more.

My second pre season game was home to Notts county. A 3-0 loss to worthy winners

Ok hard work begins now, I had redbridge away (feeder club) and lost 4-0 I better start looking at things closely!

I tweekd a few things and things were going well 1-1 at half time with Hyde, but the defender miss kicked the ball and the striker scored a late winner loosing 2-1

Having fully looked at the squad and bringing in a good keeper I came back strong to finish pre season with a 5-1 away win at Gresley.

Started this like a week ago, went with Matlock Town. Fukced about at the start with a load of crappy formations and what not, leaving me hovering above the relegation zone. Thehn brought in a few awesome players including my keeper and made a simple tactic. Currently 17 games unbeaten http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif but it still only leaves me 8th or so thanks to my poor start.

1st Game of the season saw me play Chelmsford at home which I won
3-0
My second game saw my team throw away a 2-1 lead to loose 5-2 but then again they did send on a guy who scored 4 goals :S
My next win came against bottom club fisher, 3-1
Good character from my team as they came from 1-0 behind
The media predicted an easy game yet I went down 1-0 to Cambridge city
The inconsistencies continued as I won away 2-1 at Hayes
My final game at the end of august saw me ground out a 1-1 draw home to st albans
So far 6th Position P6 W3 D1 L2 pts 10 not a bad start just need consistency

After a slow start in the league, we hit the top after twenty games and never looked back. Hereford were close behind, up until February/March, when they had a bad run of results. We didn't really have any impact in the cups at all, the best run being to the Quarter Finals of the Sentanta Shield.

Also, there's already been a few players asking to move to bigger clubs, so it's gonna be tough to hold onto my best players for the next season.

Bah, my game crashed and I'd last saved it with two games to go in the season. Not much changed when I replayed those two games: Neilson scored one less goal, and Wrexham won the Playoffs rather than York...

Gloucester City Tigers Toothless in LL2
LL2 League Table (http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/4415/tablest8.jpg)

The season in LL2 is now 17 games old, we made some purchases during the pre and still have 100k in the kitty which I am tempted to spend on some supergood midfield player whom my scouts haven't found yet.

Our record hasn't been fantastic, the only reason why we're still fighting at the top of the table is because of our defensive record which is amazing 9 goals conceded in 17 matches. We have been grinding out results, and lately the only result I see is 1 nil.

Our home record is good, but away from home we never seem to be able to produce the goods, our last few away matches have only produced draws, perhaps the best of the lot, coming back from 2 down to snag a point.

My observations thus far have been that my much vaunted McDermott and Marshall combo has failed to ignite, nary a spark has been seen. We're still hanging on and grinding out results. If we maintain this perhaps we're still in with a shout.

There's a long way to go yet, and the press thinks we'll slip up, sometimes so do I. It gets really annoying when you see your striker one on one with the keeper and do everything possible to miss. We even had a penalty taken from a 14 that was sent straight to the keeper.

We'll probably need a big win soon, perhaps I shall switch to another tactic a 442...i hate it when things like that are forced on me. Should I stick to the current game plan or go chasing for gold? We're heading into december now, a crucial time when players get worn out. So training loads have been reduced.

The chairman still insists that we do not need a parent club. Makes me wanna **** all over him, but then again this does make it a lot more challenging. Loans have been kept to a minimum and only done with players my scouts have returned with. So for one loan player has been central to my team...lets call him Stopforth II.

Well back to my grind again...once again good luck with you. May the 'fuge be with ya http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Well, there's your problem http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I'm about a third of the way into my 4th season at Matlock, and after losing the first couple of games, I decided to change tactics. I reverted back to the most basic tactic ever, 442(attacking) with all sliders neutral, and suddenly my team are charging their way up the table. Looks like I'll jump back up to the BSP as fast as I fell down.

well finished 1st season in 2nd (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/1st%20season/table.jpg) but should have been top was 1st (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/1st%20season/graph.jpg) after 39 games but slip up in last 3 games drawing rather than winning which cost me automatic promotion but still won playoff with a gutsy performance in final so here we come BSP

When i took over had 4 youth players and no staff i now have a good team of backroom staff and also a small but good squad (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/1st%20season/1stteam.jpg)

but had to do some tinkering so bought in around 25 players (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/1st%20season/xfers.jpg) and released a few (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/1st%20season/xfers2.jpg) who just weren't upto the job there wasn't really a star player for us as it was an overall team effort that won promotion but this guy just for his stats deserves the teams player of season (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/1st%20season/starplayer.jpg) award

and on a good note the board like what im doing at club as proved by their confidence (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/1st%20season/confidence.jpg) in me also the club had a good run in cups especially as we got to 1st round proper of FA Cup where we had a money spinning home tie against Wycombe which helped the club finances (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/1st%20season/finances.jpg) leading to a profit of just over £270,000 so hopefully will get a transfer budget next season and last but not least my profile (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/1st%20season/profile.jpg)

plans for next season to improve squad, consolidate postion in BSP and try to get to either setanta or FA trophy finals and possibly into 2nd round of FA Cup

Margate - Blue Square South - End of Season Update
So, after the a terrible pre-season and a takeover I managed to keep my job by winning 2-1 away at Eastbourne on day one and then thumping Hitchin in a personal best (http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/6706/picture1pw6.png) scoreline. However, form soon dipped and I slide down the league to mid-table, which frankly was better than I'd expected after my pre-season. Some luck in the FA Trophy saw us over come Blue Square Premier side Altrincham in a replay before eventually going out away to Premier Weymouth in a good performance.

This sparked a dramatic slide again, and I struggled to pick up any points at all, which eventually ended in relegation. To really rub salt into the wounds, I finished bottom due to results on the last day.

The main problem was lack of a parent club. Every time my request was dismissed, and we just didn't have the bit of class that would have brought. That and our defence was like a sieve. We scored plenty, but conceded far too many.

League Table (http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/8774/picture2hb7.png)
Position Chart (http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/682/picture3nk4.png)

Once relegation was confirmed, I did sell some players for some decent cash, so not all the squad used is here, but this is largely The Squad (http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/1388/picture4bs9.png).

Life at the New Manor Ground - Season 2
2009/10 in the Blue Square North. January/February update.

Yawn. This is getting boring now. Just like last season, all of a sudden none of my tactics work, we can't buy consistency. We can beat top teams comfortably, and get hammered by the bottom side the following weekend. At least our games have been entertaining. Number of goals: 5;5;6;4;4;1;0;5;5. Net result, a drop of another 2 league places.

January
At least being out of all the cup competitions meant I didn't have to cope with New Year fixture congestion. But having lost the last two games of 2009, I wasn't confident for the visit of 2nd place Bedford. I was rescued by Tom Clarke (with 2) and (rarity in itself) Steve Pickford as we valiantly kept ahead of the on form visitors. High after that result, we hammered Tamworth in front of our own fans, including another brace from Clarke, but that would be the last victory of the month. Maybe we were complacent going to Cmabridgeshire to face basement club Histon. Sure, Tom Clarke got another pair, but Mr Trayanov contributed to our downfall with an own goal. Histon scored four in total before half time, and there was no way back.

Matches against two Greater Manchester sides concluded the month; at home to Altrincham and away to Stalybridge. The results, and performances, were identical, with Mr Zagorski scoring his own brace in each game, only to see two goals fly in at the other end.

<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre">02/01/10 vs Bedford 3-2 (G: Steve Pickford, Tom Clarke (2)) Att: 312

16/01/10 at Histon 2-4 (G: Tom Clarke (2))

30/01/10 at Stalybridge 2-2 (G: Miroslav Zagorski (2))</pre>

February
Our unbeaten run extende to a massive 4 games(!) as we beat struggling Gateshead by a single Tom Clarke goal and held Boston to a draw in a battle for 8th place. That game cost us dearly, though, with our top striker straining knee ligaments and probably missing most of the rest of the season. I think that was the final straw for the team's morale. We tried to retain the 4-3-3 system without Tom, but were beaten 4-1 at home to 3rd placed Leigh. Reverting to 4-4-2 for the final game of the month we were, of course, beaten 4-1 at home by not-so-high-flying Hyde. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre">06/02/10 vs Gateshead 1-0 (G: Tom Clarke) Att: 214

27/02/10 vs Hyde 1-4 (G: Juan Ugarte) Att: 329</pre>

11th P33 W12 D11 L10 GD+3 Pts47

We need more than 7 points from our last 9 games to actually improve on last season, although I think even that will see us finish in a lower league position. As I promised the board a top half finish this season, in exchange for a little extra wage money, we'd better get our fingers out!

King's Lynn (78) are now 9 points clear at the top, and looking certainties for promotion, but they are now pursued by Leigh (69) and Barrow (68), with Bedford (63) having fallen to pieces since we beat them. Droyslden (60) occupy the final playoff place, which at 13 points ahead of us more or less rules us out.

Ratings have (finally) dropped, with only four players having greater than 7 average. Of those, Lee Dodgson (7.10) and Alex Rigley (7.09) have played only 10 and 11 games resepctively. Loanee Mark King (7.06) is the top "full time" player, and the list is completed by Poul Hübertz (7.03) despite the Dane not having scored a goal for two months.

There are, quite simply, no positives. Bring on the next patch.

Bluesbots Halesowen Challenge - Season 09/10

The expectations were higher this season after Halesowen had finished 2nd last season and had lost in the play off semi final and the board were expecting the team to challenge for promotion

The Yeltz had a mediocre start to the season after manager Bluesbot decided to strip the dead wood from the side, however bids for some of the stars from the 1st season meant that the side started the season with a skeleton crew and a lack of options from the scouts meant that the manager had to go out and find his own players.
Alas the scouts were fired and better ones put in place
Transfers 09/10 (http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/bluesbot/transfers0910.jpg)

This was to be the 1st full season that manager Bluesbot would be solely in charge of tactics - no outside help and his limited knowledge did stand up to the test over the season although they did need tweaking now and again.
The yeltz finished 3rd after again having a poor finish, there was a chance of going for the title but some good earlier form failed.
Final Table 09/10 (http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/bluesbot/table0910.jpg)
Graph 09/10 (http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/bluesbot/graph0910.jpg)
However the Yeltz picked up enough to beat Kettering in the Playoff semi final although after drawing 2-2 and 1-1 Haleswowen managed to win on penalties

The Final was another matter. Halesowen started brightly taking the lead but Burton found their feet and went 2-1 ahead.
The yeltz were still in the game and equalised but after an hour the side completley lost the plot and Burton put another 3 past the yeltz keeper to record a fine 5-2 win.

AFC Wimbledon End of season Report
Blue Square Premier - Season 2009/2010

Well a new season ended and what a finish. The season started slowly and
I had a respectable position around 15 until around 22 games into the season. Then
I decided to change my formation and I went for 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 formation. It gave
instant results and I started to win most of my games, finally I took the
last playoff spot. I didn`t have a lot of hope since I was up against Rochdale, a
team that really gave me some lessons earlier in the league. The first
game went OK first game (http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc258/Luffe_81/Rochdale1.jpg),
but in the second the team really stood up and I beat them 2-0 on their homground Second game (http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc258/Luffe_81/Rochdale2.jpg), against all odds I was ready for the final.

The playoff final was an really even afair, Aldershot took the lead after 50 minutes. I
began to me more and more desperat as the match went into stoppage time. It was added
3 minutes and on 93 minutes my star winger Rasmussen ran through on the
right hand side and delivered a perfect shoot to the right for the keeper, I equalised
so late in the game http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Then it was all set for extra time, nothing really happened and I
prepared my self for a nerv wrecking penaly shootout. But in the 119 min Bedeau delivers a
cross inside the penalty area, Grabban cooly get`s control over the ball and slots it behind
the goalkeeper. The whole stadium goes wild (I like to think so http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif) and I can`t believe my eyes.
I`m ready for League Two!!!! I`m running around in the room and feels like a the happiest person
alive, maybeI should stop playing this very addictive game?

Play off final (http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc258/Luffe_81/Aldershot.jpg)

Well the cup was nothing to talk about, I reached the semi-final of both Setana shield and
fa trophy. The fa cup I only came to the fourth qualifing round. I didn`t really gave the
cup a lot of attention so I`m pleased.

The key players for this season was

Mogens Rasmussen (http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc258/Luffe_81/Rasmussen.jpg)
- Right winger that ended on 10 goals and 24 assist, I will never sell this
player, remember the play off final three minutes into the stoppage time.
Matty Done (http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc258/Luffe_81/Done.jpg)
- Left winger who really frustraded a lot of right backs
Lewis Grabban (http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc258/Luffe_81/Grabban2.jpg)
- Again I secured this outstanding player on a loan from Crystal Palace, finished
the season with 44 goals.

League (http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc258/Luffe_81/LeagueTable.jpg)
Current squad (http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc258/Luffe_81/currentsquad.jpg)
Finances (http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc258/Luffe_81/finances.jpg) - Was 300k in minus last season so I`m pleased to be out of the red.

Next season
My current squad is not good enough to compete in the league two so I really need a lot of
new players, hoping for some quality free transfers. Maybe I turn pro and hopefully this will
have an effect on the players I`m able to sign. Next season will be all about surviving, all
better than that is just a bonus.

Wish me luck http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hi guys,

sorry no updates just been busy with work and that..

well I've started my 1st season in the BSP and had only won one of the first six games of the season, I decided i needed some loan signings. Only took 3 guys on loan from crystal palace but they seem to have done the trick http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

lets hope I can try for promotion now (http://aycu12.webshots.com/image/32331/2004912537602305203_rs.jpg)

I don't know how, but I managed to win League Two at the first attempt! I was expecting to battle against relegation, as I only signed two new players during the pre-season (one of them on loan). However, a fantastic start to the season, with the team top after twelve games, gave me hope of a comfortable season. Then, mid-season, things started falling apart and we dropped down the table. I figured that we'd finish in the bottom half and avoid relegation, so I was still happy enough. But somehow, the team turned around, and went on a phenomenal run to win the league with one game left to play.

Also had a decent run in the JP Trophy, and had a money spinning home tie to Premier League outfit Leicester City in the third round of the FA Cup, and another money making tie away at Sheffield United in the League Cup second round.

Stamford - League 2 - 2022/23 End of Season Update

Had a good season, with my squad marginally stregnthened by some loans. First season I have loaned in any players for a about 5 years.

With 2 games to go, I was guaranteed automatic promotion and had a chance of winning the division. Unfortunately Gillingham held us to a draw so we didnt win the title.

Next season is going to be tough, given I dont think my squad has anywhere near the required quality for league 1.

Once again, pre-season was a spectacular disaster losing all but one of my games (friendly results (http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/493/picture3ga1.png)).

However, I won my first game of the season 3-0 away to Eastleigh in a convincing display as I played about with some of the sliders.

Have approximately half the Palace reserve team on loan, which seems to have worked very nicely!

Aario - Halesowen Town - Season 2 (09/10) BSP - Mid Term Update

Just got the 2nd of Jan 2010 so thought I would post a mid season update for my second season.

As I said when I won promotion in my first season I feared that while my defence and midfield may be ok for the higher league my forwards were not going to be up to scratch. I was also in a lot of debt (~200K) due to be well over may wage buget and paying out a large bonus at the end of the first season. So, to keep the board happy with my wage control and get some better forwards I told the board I could finish in the top half. This has back fired a bit http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif whilst I have signed a load of new players and I am still just under my wage buget the team took a long time to gell. Also I did not get the oppertunity to enter my reserves and u18s in their respective leagues and so have a huge squad and find myself adopting Liverpool like pointless rotation to try and keep people happy and match fit. I have posted before about how I cannot pass up a free transfer even if they are really no better than what I have in that position.....

Anyway as can be seen from my results here (http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/1870/rubbishearlyformih1.png) for the first quater of the season we were playing badly and were in the relegation places and hence attendances wre down on last season so I was loosing money hand over fist (In my case I am sure that this is not the attendance bug but more a reflection on the rubbish football we were playing) http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

However, the cups came to my rescue and this (http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/2338/startofitwq4.png) surprise away win over (then) 6th placed Kettering in the FA cup 4th qualifing round seemed to turn things around a bit. This was also useful as telling the borad I would finish in the top half had lead to increased cup expectations as well.

My reward was an away tie against 2nd placed Woking, who as fate would have it, I was due to play in the league the game before. This (http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/9679/thingsneedtobechangedbt1.png) result promoted me to change tatics and play a bit more defensively and on the counter in the cup game. The fact that their Reading loanee was cup tied also helped as did Barnes-Homer having the game (http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/9954/thingswerechangedqk7.png) of his life http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

As can be seen from my seoncd quater (http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/776/thatsmorelikeitna8.png) fixtures the FA cup run contined thanks to a lucky draw against one of the few teams below me in the BSP - although we need a nervey replay - nervey because by the time of the replay we know that the winner would be traveling to Ewood Park to play Permiership Blackburn in the 3rd round http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. We are still in both the FA Trophy and Setanta Shield and the league form has picked up.

Obviously we lost at Blackburn but the £170K gate recipts have the bank balance looking a little better http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif so hopefully if I can continue my improved league form to get us up to mid table then the board will not be too unhappy and I may get a new contract (up at the end of the season) as I feel I have the nucleus of a team which could definitely challenge for promotion next season if both them and I are still at the club

Anyway back to it...............

And any ideas how you can boot out your chairman to find one that knows that affiliate clubs are useful. Stupid guy still cant see the point, and wont even give me any feeders, let alone a parent.

Gloucester City Tigers find their way

In mid season I was struggling to score, I dumped my senior strikers into the reserves and hoped they would find some striking happiness, and I also started mucking about with formations. Tried a 442 before I finally struck gold with a formation that interestingly has no 'default' in the tactics dropdown.

Well that formation galvanised my season, my strikers are back to scoring hattricks...not nearly as often as i'd like, but it did make me anticipate the hunt for a genuine targetman.

The goals are pouring in from my 4 pronged strikeforce and the midfield and defense are shutting almost every attack down in midfield. I hope they don't fix closing down or do anything to unbalance it cos it works beautifully, nothing escapes my fullbacks and my midfielders.

We turned around 3 games where we were down by an early goal..in one we finished 4-2, another match 3-1...its almost too good to be true..We now look like we could actually hold top spot...I haven't had to play a playoff in a long time. And this will be my default tactic going forward and in the interests of keeping things fair in the world of challenges, it will never be uploaded in the T&TT forums.

michaeltmurrayuk good job on the logos as usual. Really appreciate what you do for nonleague football http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

AFC Wimbledon - Blue Square South - 2008/09 - New Years Day Update

Well, what a difference player instructions make. This is the first time I've actually bothered to tailor player instructions to individual players for every match. The results so far have been staggering. I should add, that I am essentially the Crystal Palace C team, loaning most of their players. Maybe not good for the long term, but if I can get into the Blue Square Premier, I might actually be able to sign players.

League form as been fantastic, with my club stats (http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/4932/picture4od6.png) looking awesome, almost averaging three goals a game. Only two teams have been top of the league (http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/3794/picture5yj9.png). I've been on the rampage in the cups, all except the FA Cup, where I've beaten all the (in my opinion unrealistic) aims of the board. Most pleasing was putting 2nd place Havant & Waterlooville out of the Setanta Shield at Havant.

Player of the season so far is Victor Moses (http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/8859/picture6pp0.png) on loan from, inevitably, Crystal Palace, notching up 28 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions.

Needless to say I'm enjoying my second attempt at the challenge on FM08 a lot more than I did with Margate. My success is reflected by the happiness of the board and their current confidence (http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/7066/picture7dm1.png) in me.

all time best 11 is based on average ratings. if you have a new player who's average drops below an old player, the old player will be reintroduced...

My favorite scripting problem was

"Carshalton have found themselves performing above expectations so far this season but recent results may have fans expecting the worst.

Unless they can turn it around Carshalton seem destined to slip into mid-table obscurity."

I don't have a screen cap but I was first having played twelve odd games, won nine, scored thirty and conceded less then ten. The giant freak out was because we'd drawn against Lewis two all.

I've still got Junior Brown as the only original player to still remain in the best 11. 229 appearances, 46 goals and an average rating of 7.21, he still remains the number 1 left winger although now that I'm in league 2, he might struggle to keep his place in the starting 11. Last year he was displaced by a loan from Reading and this year looks much the same with my new signings. He probably has another season in him before he becomes a dud. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

He's one of the chairman's favourite personnel too.

Would I get slated if I were to sell him off?

Oh and don't know if this is a confidence bug or not but, I asked for a contract renewal around January and the board only offered me a new contract after the season had finished, by which point I had already secured the BSP title. Funny thing is, their long term expectation is for me to finish in a respectable position in the BSP by the end of the four year plan. I take it means I should remain in the BSP or higher after 4 years. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Season 2012/13 Review - Hendon in the Coca-Cola League 1

The first 20 rounds or so were terrifying, hovering just a few points over the relegation spots and struggling considerably to grind out draws against even the other newly promoted teams. After that the team seemed to settle though, and after a few 4-3 results in my favor, we got on a good run of form, either drawing or winning most games, and rocketed up to 7th place in just a handful of rounds. Managed to hang around 7th-9th for the rest of the season and with the help of some rather fortuitous events (http://static.pici.se/pictures/okBrawWlP.png) eventually finished 6th.

League Table (http://static.pici.se/pictures/DgizbKGmB.png)
Scoring a lot, but also letting a lot in. It's always been kind of like that with this tactic, but not quite this bad.

Can you spot the short string of games that propelled us up the league? ^^;

The Squad (http://static.pici.se/pictures/osXnbryIv.png)
Looks like I may have a hard time keeping them till next season...

Transfers (http://static.pici.se/pictures/tFOrpaLXr.png)
Another good transfer season, and we needed it. 6000 capacity Claremont Road isn't nearly paying (http://static.pici.se/pictures/IzStfuQns.png) for my £85,468 wage bill. The club is literally leaking close to £500,000 a month right now.

Star Player (http://static.pici.se/pictures/mfQtMwHMX.png)
Surprise, surprise... It's Luleyski. Just as unstoppable in the Championship as in League 1 it seems. Second only to Rolando Biachi on the goal scoring chart (http://static.pici.se/pictures/kCRWuLhuu.png).

[ULR=http://static.pici.se/pictures/drtwmrTae.png]Jon Mills
Has been progressing nicely from when I signed him (http://static.pici.se/pictures/aqqSFGofc.png) and got a lot of first team football this year. My coaches are really excited about him now too, so I still think I might have a gem here.

Well I'm pretty pleased, managed to lead The Wombles to the Blue Square South league (http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/1851/picture1gj4.png) title. We were top for most of the season, with only Havant & Waterlooville managing to overtake us in the early stages of the competition. We broke several league records (http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/4092/picture2gi3.png) along the way, but despite my record haul of goals, Victor Moses (http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/9999/picture3jh3.png) didn't manage to secure the golden boot!

Cup form turned out rather nicely, managed to make it past the New Year in two of the three competitions. Only being knocked out by Blue Square Premier sides Aldershot (FA Trophy) and Rotherham United (Setanta Shield) so pleased with the lads on that front.

Fixtures: 2008 (http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/8707/picture4gk8.png)|2009 (http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/7379/picture5uo3.png).

AFC Wimbledon Records (http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/390/picture9di0.png).
Transfer History (http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/1961/picture10bx0.png) - Frustrating amount of loans, but that did fantastically. Another frustration was the AI signings of the first two players before I took over.
And finally, the clubs finances (http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/8411/picture11qf8.png).

Rather pleased, here is to life in the Blue Square Premier! If there's anything else you'd like to see let me know. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

1-3(H) and 3-3(A). Regretting that I decided to go for the 2-2 goal when it was 1-2 at home and ended up conceding 1-3 on a counter-attack instead. :/ We had a pretty good game at St. Andrews with one of Birmingham's goals being controversial and a couple of Luleyski's shots hitting the uprights, not to mention being 2-1 up at half-time, so we would've had a good chance to go through had I just guarded the result in the home leg.

Oh well, it's not that big a deal. To be perfectly honest, this club can't support Premier League-level salaries (again, still 6000 capacity stadium...) and I have a number of promising youngsters 18-to-20 years old in the reserves who I'd like to give a shot in the first team. In short, we're not really ready for the Premiership. I'll spend next season building a better squad and hopefully convince the board to either go for a new stadium or get serious with the expansions (+1000 seats isn't helping...).

I'm sorry to post this here, but I have tried the search without any definite answer... Is it safe for me to ask the board for a stadium expansion? Can someone confirm that the expansion bug is fixed in the
latest update of the "beta" patch?

The second beta patch fixed it for me. My expansion went through as it should as opposed to screwing up my total capacity as it did with the first beta patch.

@Scab
Thank you, hopefully my board will see reason then and expand my stadium

thanks for that, and unlucky, but i think you're right. its probably better in terms of player development to wait another year or 2 before you go up. although financially speaking it would've been great...

I hate those playoffs, I have just one win from four, including two losses in the final.

Dafuge, i'm interested in trying this challenge, what i want to know though is am i allowed to use the editor to move a team in the Blue Square north or south instead of waiting for the promotion/relegation?

No, the use of the editor in any form is not allowed in this challenge. A few other people have asked the same question but we need to be firm with this rule.

That's almost got to be better news than the expansion itself isn't?
