And of course, by mentioning how well I was doing, and my worries about the future, I immediately had a draw when facing Bath, thus killing the win streak, and then lost 2-0 to Leigh RMI to fall out of the FA Cup and lose my then 10-game unbeaten streak.

King's Lynn 2009-2010 Blue Square Premier Pre-Season

First of all tried to renew the loans from Norwich. Spillane (screenshot in previous post) agreed, together with a striker and CB. The major dissapointment however was that Martin (54 goals in 48 games last season) rejected me. As a result I'm entering the BSP without a good striker. And that spells trouble.

Pre-season games:

King's Lynn 2-3 Sunderland reserves

King's Lynn 1-1 Grimsby (BSP)

King's Lynn 0-7 Coventry (PRM) http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Transfers (http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x103/jvovk22/10-29-2007_09-35-59.jpg)

The weakest part of my team (defence) was strenghtend considerably - 2 new RB's, 1 new LB, 2 new CB's and a keeper. The midfield and striking departments however became actually weaker than last season. Just could'nt find anyone to take Martin's place http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

The 2 main transfers are real achievments for me however. Both signed on long-term contracts.

Ben Bean (http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x103/jvovk22/10-29-2007_08-45-12.jpg) from free transfer http://community.sigames.com/customicons/icon14.gif

Cedric Avinel (http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x103/jvovk22/10-29-2007_08-37-15.jpg) purchased from Milwall for 10% of the next fee http://community.sigames.com/customicons/icon14.gif http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Not bad, eh?

Had a transfer budget of 0 again, but managed to sell a player who never was a starter for me for 5K http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Well i knew this day would come, i am about to take my team to the home of my many past successes as we travel away to Bath City's Twerton Park. After so much success there of the previous 2 challenges it will be unusual to be hoping for their demise.

It is slightly easier though as i seek revenge with Bath being the only team to beat us in the league so far this season, a 5-1 hammering in about the 4th game of the season.

At the start of my second season Saxton was released by Plymouth. So if he consistently does well for you, there's a possibility of signing him permanently.

I signed him as a future keeper, although his conceeding a goal to his goalkeeping opponent has meant that his first team chances will be limited for a while, until I can forgive him anyway.

I just had a game with 9 minutes (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/SonicAD/9minutesadded.jpg) of stoppage time added on in the 1st half... there were a couple injuries, but 9 minutes is quite a lot to go over by.

Well it's over, my 23 game unbeaten streak has finally come to an end in the cruelest of circumstances. We have gone down 4-3 against Margate to an injury time winner. I will also now serve a touchline ban after complaining about a penalty decision earlier on in the match.

It's disheartening to go down in this way especially after managing many draws in games that we should have lost during this run. Let's just hope this doesn't de-rail my season as we haven't been out of the playoff places all season http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Tiverton Town-End Of season-BSS-2009/10 season update
not a bad year being predicted to come 16th, riggled my way into the playoffs, coming in 5tth
09/10 league table (http://img451.imageshack.us/my.php?image=finaltablenu9.jpg)

i was alright defensively but the attack was shockin as my top scorer was 9 goals!
fans player for 2nd year running was martyn pitcher- 17 year old
But i have just uncovered another 17 year old youth right back and have just accepted a 55k 30% of next sale deal for Eddie Gardener (http://img451.imageshack.us/my.php?image=eddiegardenernd8.jpg)
he is a real star but at this point in time, i just had to accept, 55k is alot of money for my team

This year my transfer dealings have been preety good, bringing in 4 strickers (one with 20 pace) all on frees, added to that with some midfield talent and hopefully i am ready to go

Media prediction:10th
My hopes:to have another go at playoffs

I was the overachievers of the Blue Square South!

Gloucester City - 09/10 Season update - Blue Square Premier

In the summer I got a few new players to add to the numbers and get some competition for places. They were all quality players for this level except for the two loan players my parent club, Cheltenham, gave us but I didn't use them.

Players in/out (http://s226.photobucket.com/albums/dd37/dagurol/?action=view&current=inout.jpg)

We started the season brightly and won our first three games but then after that bright start we suffered a very long slump http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif. The first half of the season we were in the bottom half of the table but when the new year came we got on track and managed to finish 7th in the end. We even pushed for a playoff spot at one time but not seriously enough.

League Table (http://s226.photobucket.com/albums/dd37/dagurol/?action=view&current=table.jpg)

League Graph (http://s226.photobucket.com/albums/dd37/dagurol/?action=view&current=graph.jpg)

Key players:

Luke Malcher (http://s226.photobucket.com/albums/dd37/dagurol/?action=view&current=luke.jpg) - Striker/Winger and my top goalscorer

Jamel Forde-Small (http://s226.photobucket.com/albums/dd37/dagurol/?action=view&current=jam.jpg) - My defensive midfielder who again had a good season

Edward Asafu-Adjaye (http://s226.photobucket.com/albums/dd37/dagurol/?action=view&current=ed.jpg) - A no nonsense center back who played well this season.

With some good signings in the coming summer I should be able to push for promotion or at least a playoff spot next season. http://community.sigames.com/customicons/icon14.gif

quick question.... Parent club advice??

Sheffield Utd. (championship)
Rotherham (league one)
Chesterfield (league two)

???

Hopefully some team where the players will actually join, and are of the sort of quality that can lift my team, as I´m currently playing like ****e..

Chesterfield only really have players on youth contracts in their reserve andf u18´s so I was thinking of leaving them out!!! Maybe!!! Aaarghhh I don´t know???

Jimbokav1971

Tyler.

I would look at each club, filter out players in senior squad, filter out players over 21, filter out players on part time contracts, filter out players who have featured at all for the senior team current/previous year, and then see what you are left with.

They are the players that need to be compared, not the standard of players on the whole.

End of League Season Review - Worksop Town - Season 2008/09

as i've finally reached the end of the 2008/09 league season, it's time for an update. What a rollercoaster season it turned out to be.

as the league graph shows, for most of the first half of the season i was top of the league or just off on goal difference etc. this exceeded my wildest wishes as i had had to build the team from scratch and had expected to take a season to settle. Then, for reasons i simply can't explain, we fell apart. i made no changes to formations, players etc, we just stopped scoring or winning. This saw us fall completely out of the automatic promotion race, and out of the play-off places.

going into the final two games we were sat in sixth place, agonisingly just outside of the play-off places. A disappointing away draw against gainsborough in week 40 saw me 2 points off the play-offs, and to be honest i felt my chances had gone. a 3-0 home win against mid-table Harrogate in my penultimate game saw me move 1 point off the play-offs going into our final match, away At Farsley Celtic.

Farsley were 2nd in the league, and to be honest, the best i could have hoped for giving our inconsistent form was a draw, and hoping our superior goal difference saw us sneak into the play-offs, as it was very close in the league.

Farsley Celtic v Worksop Town (http://img145.imageshack.us/my.php?image=farsleyfinalmatchnk2.jpg)

What a game!! i'd say it was probably our best performance of the season, and if not, definately our best away performance. we pretty much ran the show from start to finish. being 2-0 up at half time, i was tempted to switch to a more defensive tactic, but this had back fired on me in the past, so i continued with my tactics. two goals in the last ten minutes were the icing on the cake, and we made it into the final play-off place, where we will play Workington

Results for run-in (http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/9656/resultsmay09pk5.jpg)

My First Match

And what a game it was aswell to kick off my season.

]First Game (http://img91.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1stmatchuz4.jpg)

Was 2-0 up in the opening half hour but then i got pegged back to 2-2 and went down to 10 men and my captain got injured, so i was fearing the worst but i was brave or vert stupid as i left 3 at the back with a DM 3 across the midfield and left 2 up front and it seemed to pay off as i ended up winning 4-2. What a season, started it with a 8 match winning streak, posted about the streak when I got a draw and then hit a bit of bad form. Eventually managed to scrape back up and into the playoffs.

Unfortunately I have Witton in the Play Off Semi Final, and I have an awful record against them, so I dont hold up much hope.

A fantastic piece of business in pre-season left me selling 2 midfielders for a total of 320k. This left me in the black, with a higher wage budget and also a small transfer kitty.

King's Lynn August - September 2009. BSP

After the inpressive captures of Bean and Avinel the team gained some confidence. A good start to the season saw King's Lynn sitting 3rd after 6 league games.

However the performances were not that good, and new people were added to the ranks

Varban Hadzhigaev (http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x103/jvovk22/Hadzhigaev.jpg) - a promising midfielder from Bulgaria who was signed after a trial.

Cristian Ribeiro (http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x103/jvovk22/Ribeiro.jpg) - a CB with a few Wales U-21 caps at 19

And Wayne Carlisle (http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x103/jvovk22/Carlisle.jpg) - a brilliant addition to my midfield despite being 30 already

Overall transfer screen (http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x103/jvovk22/Transfers2009-2010.jpg)

A few games were drawn because of a simple mistake or lack of concentration on the last minutes, after dominating the match. But after 13 games King's Lynn are going 7th, and within touching distance from a playoff spot http://community.sigames.com/customicons/icon14.gif

Well we had an awful record against Whitby, so that doesnt surprise me too much.

Stuck for another season in the Conference North then.

Aims for the new season:

Marginal squad strengthening
Promotion

Unlucky Gilbster,

Im a bit like you, have awful luck in playoffs and seem to need to win to get promoted.

i'll post the exact stats tonight, but i noticed this morning that the clean sheet i kept was my first in over 3 months, game time. that was all after the patch, and part of a 17 game unbeaten run.

I also seem to be struggling post patch. I just assumed it was because I'm in a higher division and the new players have yet to gel.

Lucky that I waited until the end of last season before patching, otherwise I'd have been knocked off top spot.

Mini Update- Tiverton- November 2010- BSS 2010/11
Had an amazing start to the season, with my new strike force hitting it off!
top after 17 games and got to the Fa Cup first round proper
But got beat by Cardiff 5-1 away, but had 3 defenders suspended and top scorer injured
he is out for 1-2 months so that annoying!
am 1 point clear if i can win game in hand atm so isnt going to be easy but unbeaten in about 9 in the league so looking ok
In the end of season post i said i sold star lad Eddie Gardener for 55k and 30% next sale, but he rejected them so if still happy
He is now wanted by 3 championship teams and a league one team, one of the teams being Watford

Do you have any links at all? I had to cencel my feeder club & parent club before my board agreed to look at teams & thankfull they offered me a choice of either Fulham or Millwall. Easy choice really as Fulham had some great youngsters in there reserve team & have helped me so much last season in getting promoted from BSN & now this season to be 1st in L2 & cruising to the title.

It's strange, despite going down they're still pleased with me. I signed a 4 year contract prior to the season in which I went down and the long term ambitions were to establish Halesowen in the BSP. I guess it doesn't take into account the fact I got relegated, so long as I can get back up and stay there come 2014.

I also sold a number of players to get the club back into the black. This probably helped opinions of me.

When it comes down to feeder clubs etc, there ain't nothing you can do http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
I agree with Spurs1979 about cancelling any existing links and that may enable you to get one! Worth a try at least http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Jimbo perhaps not installing the patch is the way forward http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
I am still pre-patch and am going to download the proper one when it becomes available, not the Beta version.

Whilst thinking about feeder clubs etc i realised that i am yet to come across a decent player who i've wanted to sign from any of my feeder clubs....ever. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
One of the benefits of a feeder club is meant to be that you can purchase players from them (as well as send players on loan), but i'm yet to hear of anyone who has found a decent player, let alone a wonderkid!

Damn that sucks, when I started I had MK Dons & some team I'd never heard off but my board rejected any requests until I cancelled so thought maybe you was in a similar position.

I guess only time can wait but my board even ask me what type of feeder club I want now, UK loan or work permit. Unfortunately I can't find any work permit clubs, shame as the knowledge from a foreign club could be awesome for me at this stage.

Same here. Norwich as a parent, and Ashford plus Toothing & Mitcham as feeders. Thinking of canceling one of the feeders to see if I can get a Blue Square North/South club.

On another note - I just defeated Bromley 3-0 away in the FA Cup 1st Rnd with my reserves. So weird having reserves capable of beating someone at the start of season 2 http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Feeder clubs - Met Police & & Enfield

I tried to get a BSS/BSN side to loan players to but only team I got was Witton I think, began with W but they were going to be relegated so I didn't bother with them. Might try again this summer for decent feeder clubs as I've a few youngsters I'd like to get first team games for.

Parent and Feeder clubs are related to location. I believe that you are managing Stamford, the only other person is Alurny. Maybe he's got some, it'd be interesting to find out!

Mid-season Update - Chippenham Town - Blue Square South 2009/10

Halfway through the league season, and as the league has sorted out we've found ourselves atop the table by 6 points, with a better goal difference than any other team. We've won the last 8, and 17 of the last 19 (with only the aforementioned draw away to Bath and the loss in the FA Cup to Leigh RMI breaking that up), and haven't conceded a goal in the last 7. It's just amazing play and with half the season left we're looking to be the title favorites if we can keep up this great form.

Over in the cups, we fell out of the FA Cup in the 1st Round, but we're still going in the Setanta Shield and FA Trophy, so we still have a chance at some silverware that way as well.

I believe Alurny started with a parent club, dont remember who, but it has been mentioned.

I got to the play off final last season with a single loan player since I was bored of constantly offering loans for them to be rejected. However if I ever do manage to get promoted I will need a nice parent club to give me a boost.

Promotion is almost secured for the third successive season, totally impressed this season at how my players have come along as I thought I would struggle with only my loan signings being real quality but they've all stepped up to perform brilliantly.

This has been my best season yet as it was so much more dominant, nothing over the top but just total dominance from my side in the league from the very first game.

FINALLY got to start last night with Carshalton Athletic in an effort to bring the Champ's league to Surrey. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

First I tried to loan several players from Watform (my parent club), signed Jean-Sebastian Bax who looks like being the second coming as far as mid thirties def midfielders go in the lower leagues and then attempted to sign loads of youth players from prem clubs in the hope of getting a couple.

Instead I managed to land Mikkel Andersson, Alex Pearce and Simon Church from Reading, two kids from Tottenham and Will Hoskins from Watford! I've had loads of over offers accepted, so checked and there's no restrictions on loan players in the Blue Square South.

I'm slightly shocked first of all I've got such quality loans and second that there's no restrictions. Are they only joining me because I'm local or because as I have no players they're certs to play all season? I'm quite confused by it all.

Spurs1979
29-10-2007, 08:33
There are no loan restrictions until you hit league status then its 4 long term u23 players & 2 long term over 23 players.

You can only loan players short term for a maximum of 3 months so it slightly lessons that a bit. I personally found it hard to get any loans my first season but once I got promoted & replaced MK Dons with Fulham they offered me players both seasons.

Which Spurs youngsters did you get by the way? I've currently got 6 that I picked up on free transfers & have Danny Rose, Dag Aleksander Olsen both on loans.

Season summary Boreham Wood 08/09

The season ended beyond my wildest expectations, after a hectic summer transfer window and just a couple of tweaks to the tactic things just ticked. The table speaks for it self, only one loss in the league all season and a crazy goal difference.
Final league table (http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/9753/finaltableku6.jpg)
League graph (http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/119/s01graphxp3.jpg)

I have to admit that we were lucky in certain games, we would have conceded more against more prolific strikers. But the game we lost, well that's another story.
Worechester-Boreham Woof (http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/3030/firstlossut3.jpg)

The fear of a sudden drop in team morale and performance was eased in the next game when we demolished Eastleigh at home at Meadow Park.
Boreham Wood - Eastleigh (http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/9315/gameafterlosslv1.jpg)

We reached the first round of the FA Cup, but lost against a much stronger Swansea team, no complaints there. We had a better run in the Setanta Shield, but lost out to Southport in the fifth round of the competition.

The joy didn't end there, we went all the way in the FA Trophy after a deserved victory over Dorchester in the final.
FA Trophy Final (http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/8846/fatfinalws0.jpg)

In retrospect, we made some shrewed signings before the season, especially the three strikers, Sheringham, Gaynor and Jeffrey plus Noone in midfield. They scored 93 goals between them and in addition contributed with 37 assists, and they were the main reason behind the success.

Season 09/09 Squad (http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/8942/season1squadjw3.jpg)

The entire first season was played with the pre "beta" patch engine, and might be part of the reason for the teams success. I have played a couple of games in season two after applying the patch, and we are conceding more goals at the moment.

After last seasons success, we told the board that we thought we might be able to gain promotion in the coming season, but only time will tell if that will happen. The early signs indicate that it will be harder then last time.

I will try to post more updates as this season progresses, but for now I have to get back to the game...

Has anyone managed to get a club with a really low rep? like Ashford Town, Brackley Town, Swindon Supermarine or someone like them with a rep under about 700. I have reloaded my save about 50 or 60 times but the team with the lowest rep was Mangotsfield with a rep of 850.

Hendon - League 2 - 2010/2011

Just a short review as I'm about to go do dinner but I have finished the season now & to my amazement won the league pretty comfortably. Was solid all the way through the season & didn't have any bad patches of form to note, just the odd defeat as you'd expect.

League Table (http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y80/Spurs1979/FM2007/table6.jpg) Club Finances (http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y80/Spurs1979/FM2007/finances1.jpg) Full List Of Season Transfers (http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y80/Spurs1979/FM2007/transfers6.jpg)

I've already started to prepare for next season by selling some of my backup players from this season, I'm not entirely sure what my plan is player wise for next season as I feel quite a few of this squad is league 2 standard but are over-performing for me. Do I risk it that they'll handle league 1 or try to get in quite a few new plaers ........

i agree. i'm getting mine from league one team peterborough, and i consider this scenario highly unlikely...

chrishunt

it was documented early on that some had tried hundreds of reloads, and no really low clubs appeared, with the exception of the submarine, but the save vanished from the users computer, or something, the next day...

i personally really wanted team bath, but as they have the lowest rep the chances are miniscule...

I think it's realistic to get loans when in league 2 or league 1 from premiership teams as alot have partnerships in real life. You have to remember though that the cpu teams also loan players, if you didn't try to compete with your own you would really be at a disadvantage.

Tactics are still the main priority imo, get that sorted & you can mix/match some decent players of your own with some quality loan signings.

I think it is too easy to get good players on loan in the BSN and BSS in the game.

However, I feel in the game it is too easy to sign players full stop (not just on loan)

Also seeing as Reading youngsters have been mentioned above I think I should point out that this season in real life Reading have 2 young players on loan to BSP sides (Curtis Osano at Rushden and Scott Davies at Aldershot)

For league side i kinda agree that it would be ok to get players from prem teams.. But in the BSN/S and getting players from CH/PRM teams are unlikely, maybee you could get a couple but they shouldnt be that good..
In my first season ive got 3 players who could play in a championship side.. that was over the top =)

Thought I'd try to get a new parent club this summer as Fulham were likely to release the players I'd loan this season giving me few players to really go for next season & to my shock I was offered either Chelsea, QPR or Millwall!

Yeah they do so do it in the summer like I just did, as long as you cancel you should still get a club around the same level as the one you had but a chance of someone much better.

It is worth the risk if you get promoted as you become more desired to loan players to.

Another thing to consider is that all the prem players I've got are under twenty one and with the exception of the Reading players almost all are only on a couple of hundred a week.

As noted above prem players do go on loan to low league teams, the primary reason they do this is because it's probably made clear to them that they only have a one year contract and should probably consider their career as they're not going to be staying with the club. Either that or that even the ammount of reserves team football they'll get will be limited.

Has anyone had luck signing released higher league players that have been on loan with their team?

I've often found even if they end up with the club as a favorite they still want silly money to sign for me or just plain don't want to in earlier versions of FM.

Argeed - I seem to be taking both sides here!! - however, I still feel it is too easy to get the loans. In real life (as you suggest) the Reading players on loan in the BSP are very unlikely to make it at Reading (and also as noted above Osano often gets released in the game!) so loaned as far as down as the conference is realistic. However, the players you mentioned are actually much more highly rated and in real life would / have / are only be loaned to League 1 or Championship sides

I think SI should look at this for sure.

IRL Watford have sent 18 year old players to Wealdstone for some experience, last year it was Theo Robinson (currently on loan to League 2 Hereford) and John-Joe O'Toole who probably will be playing against Palace tonight.

Avinel is at BSP Stafford Rangers and so was Scott Loach until Poom was injured.

So it does happen, just no where near as often in the game.

I think Jimbo is right and perhaps for next years challenge dafuge should add some rules regarding loans and possibly parent clubs.
So loan and parent clubs sould only be a maximum of two league up the chain, e.g. in the BSS/BSN League 2.
If a club starts with anything higher then that then the link needs to be cancelled.

Sam Collier (GK) - Potential Legend (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/NepentheZ/Carshalton%2008/Season%202/SamCollier.jpg)

Summary -

After an indifferent first half to the season, Carshalton found themselves only 5 points out of the relegation zone. With the manager Craig Douglas getting ever worried, it was time for a change. So, i hired a New Scout and he got straight down to business. In the January transfer window, i strengthened the squad with some top new defenders and midfilders, and a better back up GK. and boy did it show. The second half of the season saw a much better performance from carshalton, who ended up an impressive 14th, winning no less than 9 of thier final 12 games.!!!

Things to note:

Im not very impressed with the amount of goals scored this season in the league, with Oxford scoring over 100 goals and the bottom two teams conceeding over 100 goals each with Nuneaton conceeding a whopping 154 goals.

Anyway, i've already got a new striker coming in next season, so hopefully i will be able to improve on a 14th place, and get closer to the playoffs.

I'm not too sure about adding rules about loans and parent clubs.

The bottom line is if you fill out your team with youth loans from the prem, you're still paying their higher wages and you're making sure none of your own players are getting games. Thus rather then developing your own prospects for sale you're pushing your resources for no future gain.

I've got loads of prem kids at the moment, but even if I romp BSS I'm not going to have a team next season as most of my wage limit's gone on kids and they're all going home come June.

It's a definate early advantage, but it's a huge second season set back as well. It's something that needs proper debate really, probably in it's own thread.

King's Lynn - 08/09 - Update

I went into this hoping to get a team with a lower reputation than King's Lynn, but after holidaying to the 19th it seems that all the teams were promoted. Could have sworn it was the 20th last time round, so my mistake meant that I was stuck with what I got first time round. Hitchin and King's Lynn were the 'best' that I got and I didn't fancy Hitchin.

Kings started with two players on loan from parent club Norwich, Chris Martin (http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q9/Storesy/ChrisMartinProfile.png) I could believe how could he was and promptly extended the Coldplay singer's loan. Encouraged by the signing of Martin I looked to raid Norwich further, getting a 17yr old keeper for back up, but the real quality steal was for this guy Wayne Brown (http://s132.photobucket.com/albums/q9/Storesy/?action=view&current=WayneBrownProfile.png). These two and Mathew Bailey (http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q9/Storesy/MatthewBaileyProfile.png) (I could have kissed my scout for this 1) were going to be the spine of the side.

We've been really inconsistent so far this season, we won our first 2 games and then lost our next 2, it's a trend that has continued thus far, we do however find ourselves in 5th place. I would be delighted to finish there! Part of the problem was that Martin despite being brilliant was missing plenty of chances and I decided to give him a kick up the backside and tell the guy that I expected a performance from him against Hednesford. (http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q9/Storesy/HednesfordvKingsLynnSplitView-2.png) That worked then. It only works with a high morale though, which is a pain. But that result helped me et some nice praise. (http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q9/Storesy/StorzyInbox.png)

All in all a good start, hopefully we can make the play-offs but I doubt that we'll have the consistency to actually win them.

P.S I hope the links work, I haven't looked at photobucket since last years challenge and it's different and confusing.

I have a budget of £150k this season after selling some squad players from last season but the kinda players I want to sign are all too much. I'm currently trying to sign Ben Alnwick from Tottenham but they won't go below £190k which is just above my budget & would take most of my wages left if I transfer it over so don't really want to.

As for free transfers I've not got to the stage of players leaving who were out of contract this season so hope to pick 1 or 2 up. The youth that has been released has been pretty poor so I'm relying on my scouts finding some regens to look at.

Failing that I am struggling loan wise massively now but I am pleased to have got 2 players from Chelsea in Tom Taiwo (http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y80/Spurs1979/FM2007/Taiwo.jpg) & Gael Kakuta (http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y80/Spurs1979/FM2007/Kakuta.jpg).

I still need to buy myself a goalkeeper, left back, centre back & a striker before the season starts to quite a bit of work to go.

Can you tell me the name of 1 single player that has been loaned from a Premiership club to a Conference North/South club?

I've just seen the post about Theo Robinson. I guess that I have to stand corrected on that.

Still, you would agree that this sort of thing is the exception rather than the rule. In reality, young Premiership players usually don't go down lower than League 2. This is partly to both the standard and type of football played lower down, but also the leval of both facilities and coaching available at that level.

I'm honestly surprised that that Watford would let a "kid" go to Wealdstone for as long as they did, but..... they did.

In any case, now that it has been proved that it does happen, I must change my argument slightly in that it does happens "too much in the game".

I am already playing under my own self regulated rules which mean that I will only ask a player to drop doen a maximum of 3 divisions. I honestly believe that this area of the game is not accurate and the way I am playing is more accurate to real life. I'm not trying to shove these rules down anyone else's throat, but I would ask that they be at least considered for next years challenge.

So to clarify what I am saying....

1) Players at Prem clubs do in real life get loaned down to the divisions we are talking about but....

2) Players at Prem clubs who are thought to have future at the club do not get loaned down this far

3) So SI (and our rules here) should not impose a maximum number of leagues between clubs in a loan deal but the system should be modified maybe using the players status (i.e. no hot prospects being loaned from Prem to anyone below League 1)

</div></BLOCKQUOTE>

How are everyone signing Premiership youngsters at Marine, only two players in nearly the whole of England where interested on coming on loan to me - a right winger from Championship soon to be League One Sheff Wed and a midfielder from League Two Accrington.

I don't need to impose my own rules the game seems quite capable by itself on me http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Also if you are going to impose your own rules is it not more realist to also impose a geographical limit aswell http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif - someone from Plymouth is possibly less likely to go on loan to Gateshead than someone from Sunderland.

Chelseadaft Chippenham 2009/2010

Well my tactical nightmare continued for three quarters of the season but i think i have now cracked it. This second season was the last of my objective from the board to avoid relegation, i have done that, bearing in mind i had to get rid of players left right and centre and had to pay fee's to get of them..

But i signed Jack a top striker in this league and his 20 goals in 20 games kept me in the league along with Super Kyle!. Unfortunatley i have had to sell him for 100K to get back in the black and keep the board happy.

Post season there was doubt about whether or not i will be given a new contract, so had to make the sacrifice and it had kept me my job.

I have been given a new contract for 2 more years with the brief of establishing Chippenham in this league. But as i have said, i think i have cracked it so hope to challenge for at least the play offs in the coming season!

Here are my screenies!

Weeeeeeee!

My guys have come out the blocks all guns firing start of this season! Newly promoted and 3 easy wins in a row sees us sitting top.

Looks like ive signed some real quality, especially upfront. I targeted guys with real accelleration and pace and looks like my plan is working.

Playing a counter attacking formation with long ball my guys are leaving defenders for dead.

Suuuuure they cant shoot but they get so many chances in a game 2 or 3 of them always go in http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Club Changes

Well quite alot was done in the summer to bring the club upto date with the board taking out a £550k loan to pay for a 550 seat stadium increase which whilst isn't massive it's nice to know they are willing to increase the stadium for me.

Along with this I cancelled my parent club's contract with Fulham & signed a new contract with Chelsea which will be extremely important once I can get promoted from League 1 as the quality available to me could be vital for that last push into the premiership.

The clubs reputation stayed at the rating of "local" which is something I was slightly dissapointed with as I thought we would be national by now but nevermind. My own manager reputation stayed as "regional" whilst I somehow recieved knowledge of N.Ireland during the summer.

The clubs financial status is "okay" which is about right as we currently have £1.015m in the bank which gives me a buffer to ensure I don't suffer from the clubs £500k loan it signed this season. The wage budget is £26,685pw with me currently sitting on only £14,884pw which gives me scope to add a few players before the window shuts. I still have the £150k transfer budget left to spend also which should be taken note of when looking at the balance sheet.

Player Sales & Purchases

I decided to capitilaise on a few of my squad members who I was recieving enquirys for as I didn't really them them being that much use for me in league 1 & thus sold 4 players for a total of £325k + sell on clauses in them all. Junior Dadson was one of those sold & it was probably a bit unlucky for him seeing as his great first season was met with a long term injury that restricted the amount I could use him in league 2 so I didn't have much faith he had made the progress needed or proved to me how he might play this season.

My moves to try & get 3 of last seasons loan stars again this season was thwarted as Batista, Owusu & Rose all rejected loan moves this season which dissapointed me but I wasn't too dissapointed at this stage as I had my new link with Chelsea to try my luck with. When browsing there reserve list I was met with various players all of who were premiership quality & I tried my luck with a few of these. Only 1 player decided to come in the form of French U21 attacking midfielder Gael Kakuta (http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y80/Spurs1979/FM2007/?action=view&current=Kakuta.jpg) who I expect big things from this season. I then searched around trying my luck with various youth players from premiership or championship sides & was strugging big time to add any real quality to my squad this season which was starting to make me panic a little bit. I was finally able to add 2 more Chelsea youngsters to my first team squad in the form of young goalkeeper Chris Clarke & defensive midfielder Tom Taiwo.

I had been scouting around for various players but couldnt find anyone of real quality for a long long time that I believed would be able to fit into my first team but was happy to be a bit patient about this. My scout found a young Irish midfielder who could play in either of my 3 central spots so I opted to bring him in this season to provide squad cover & see how he progresses, he should hopefully be good enough for league 1 standard as my scout predicts. The next signing I made excited me alot more after Sunderland striker David Dowson was still rejecting his contracts & I broke my wage structure & offered him a Hendon record breaking contract in an attempt to lure him to the club which worked & I expect him to score goals for me this season.

The 3rd permanent signing I have made is Italian youngster Salvatore Palumbo who I had on trial after he was released from Pro Patria & I decided he looked good enough to provide me with squad cover.

I am still scouting for more players & have a few offers in the pot as I go into my first game of the season so will again update later how I do on that front. I also have 1 more space for a 4th loan signing & hopefully can add someone else with some quality to give me a boost.

Season Expectations

I've made myself look quite negative the last 3 seasons predicting I will struggle to get promoted but I truly think my squad right now isn't anywhere near good enough to get myself out of this league on the first attempt. Depending how my future transfers go & if my players can get off to a flyer like last season I hope to be around mid table & maybe be in with a shout of play offs

I know it is not normal and mentioned in my other post that I agree it is too easy to get good loans but also quoted some examples as another post had mentioned that in real life players from Premiership clubs would never got to the BSP and said it was something SI should change in the next game.

As another poster mentioned the level the player will get loaned down to is due to the players long term prospects. Those who have not improved since they were first offered pro contracts at 17ish are often sent on loan as low as the BSP or League 2 as this is where they will have a chance of a carer when they are released where as those that have kept on improving are loaned to the Chapionship and League 1 (all based on my knowledge of the Reading FC squad - as I mentioned above there is no way IRL that Pearce would be allowed to join any club below League 2 this season let alone next or the one after). This is why I put forward the idea that SI could possible revamp the way loans are offered and accepted so that "hot prospects" were not loaned 4 divisions but others still were.

As for this challenge I will leave any decisions up to Dafuge but argee that your self impossed rules make a lot of sense. As I said previously I thnk it is too easy in the game to both sign players and get loans in but am sure that if was made as hard as it not doubt is to get new players to a club then most of the FM players around the world would complain so guess this will never change.

someone from Plymouth is possibly less likely to go on loan to Gateshead than someone from Sunderland.

Which is another point to back up the loans. A player being loaned from West Ham to Harrow Borough is far more likely than a player from a lower division northern club such as Coventry or Wolves.

Falcon 21 - Mangotsfield Blue Square Premier

After our promotion through the playoffs last year, I figured that we were probably in for a comfortable midtable Blue Square Premier team. However we started off well winning tough, close games. We didn't score a whole lot of goals, but we conceded few as well. Lewis Killeen was frustratingly inconsistent, once going 12 hours without scoring, but still we ground out 1-0, 2-1 results. In short, we were the Bolton of the lower leagues.

The class of the Blue Square Premier was Oxford who were almost unbeatable. They promoted without a hitch. Amazingly, after a good second half run, we were in a fight for the final playoff position. With good form and some timely collapses by teams ahead of us, we qualified in 5th for the playoffs.

In the semi we faced the pesky Shrewsbury. The home leg saw us take a two nil halftime lead, but the Shrews fought back to score two. The second coming in the 93 minute of course http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif. Leg 1 (http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff106/Falcon21_bucket/?action=view&current=Semilegone.jpg)
The second leg was tense in the way only playoff football can be with as we took the lead through Jonny Dixon, but again the Shews connived to score ANOTHER extra time equalizer. However in extra time it was sub striker Lewis Killeen who ended the Shrews playoff chase with a superb 25 yarder! Leg 2 (http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff106/Falcon21_bucket/?action=view&current=Semilegtwo.jpg)

Thus we were left with a final against Aldershot, which was anti-climactic as we rolled them 4-0 on a Jonny Dixon hat-trick. (http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff106/Falcon21_bucket/?action=view&current=BSPFinal.jpg)

Unbelievably we had one promotion to league (http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff106/Falcon21_bucket/?action=view&current=LeagueTable.jpg) football.
Our board has decided to upgrade (http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff106/Falcon21_bucket/?action=view&current=Upgrade.jpg) our training facilities.

Our star Islander (http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff106/Falcon21_bucket/?action=view&current=Beany.jpg)

I'm actually worried about League Two as we really overachieved last season. Hopefully my stout defense doesn't start conceding now...

Marine - Season One - Quarter Season updated 2008/09

With no squad to start off with (apart from Kids), pre-season was spent trying to sign a squad and some backroom squad, whilst I was waiting for some staff to join the club I scanned the player search screen for any released players who's names looked familar, then when I had some staff a scouted/trialed anyone who looked any good and ended up with 27 sorry looking footballers. (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/5720/squadgb9.jpg)

Rather surprisingly I've managed to bring in some promising youngsters and some ex-premiership players, currently my main players are:

GK: Ex-Crewe/Carlisle Keeper Grant Carson, (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/1153/grantcarsonlv0.jpg) who's the younger brother of Liverpool Keeper Scott Carson, and who was my backup Keeper in last years challenge.

Ex-West Ham youngster David Blackmore (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/7109/davidblackmoreqg5.jpg) will be challenging him for the Keeper jersey, unitl I find a decent Keeper.

Right back is the club Captain Micky Barron, (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/9044/mickybarronal0.jpg) who came from Hartlepool and played one game for Middlesbrough in the Premiership back in 95/96.

In the centre of defence I have ex-Walsall youngster Mark Bradley (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/5946/markbradleynq4.jpg) (I'm liking the fact that players now decide which nation to play for, rather than just accepting the first callup) partnering him is the Expericened centre-back Dave Challinor. (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/3024/davechallinorrf0.jpg)

I also have the legend that is Neil Cox (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/72/neilcoxun0.jpg) who played in the Premiership before there was a Premiership with Villa then Mbrough, Bolton and Watford, providing backup, after he got sent off in the first game of the season.

At Left-back is ex-Liverpool Youngster Michael Burns. (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/5051/michaelburnsid1.jpg)

On the Right winger I have Dave McClements (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/7071/davemcclementsqh5.jpg) on loan from Sheff Wed - I actually had him last year with Frickley and sold him back to Sheff Wed several seasons later for a profit.

Ex-Leicester Midfielder Stefan Oakes (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/8381/stefanoakesdk1.jpg) partners young Welsh Defensive Midfielder Sam Tierney (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/6852/samtierneygb3.jpg) in the middle of the park, though new signing Bulgarian Midfielder Ivan Tsankov (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/3830/ivantsankovme2.jpg) may oust Stefan Oakes from the first XI.

On the Left Winger I have another ex-Crewe Youngster Junior Brown, (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/5894/juniorbrownfq3.jpg) who can play anywhere down the left or upfront. Though he shouldn't be needed upfront as I have managed to capture some quality strikers this time around:

Journeyman Striker Tommy Mooney (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/7890/tommymooneyij9.jpg) adds some experience upfront, though he did fail to score a Premiership goal for three clubs.

He is joined by three young promising strikers ex-Crewe Youngster Nick Farqurharson, (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/8020/nickfarqurharsondk1.jpg) ex-Newcastle and Leeds Youngster Tomi Ameobi (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/7265/tomiameobigv5.jpg) http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif and the biggest capture Portsmouth's Italian youngster Giovanni Torre (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/6624/giovannitorreqt1.jpg), http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif who I managed to sign before anyone else got interested.

All that leaves my weekly wage at £4,115, whilst my budget is £2,285 so only £1,830 over my budget and means the board won't let me renew peoples contracts on the same wage as they are currently on.

Selling only 69 Season tickets is not going to help me out money wise, forgot Marine have no fans http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

The season started off with a home game against Barrow that we somehow won 2-1 with 10 men, (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/4855/firstgamena5.jpg) though SuperKyle did score for Barrow http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif to add to the 20 he got last season. We then lost 2-0 Boston, again being down to 10 men we then followed that up with a 4-1 hammering of Solihull Moors. We followed up the Solihull game with defeats to Workington and AFC Telford, before I'd finally settled on a first XI that was also match fit and went on a four game winning streak keeping three clean sheets including knocking four past Burscough, we then came crashing back down to earth with a 3-0 defeat away yo Northwich, followed by our only nil-nil draw against 10 men Tamworth and a 2-0 defeat to League Leaders Nuneaton (Yes the same team who were getting whipped in NepentheZ's game in the Premier http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif)

Either side of the Nuneato game we had the joys of the Cups, first up was the FA Cup 2nd Qual. Round (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/3761/facupht2.jpg) away to North Ferriby, who rather predictable beat me nearly full strength side 2-1, thus starting my FA Cup losing streak again http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

The Setanta Shield First Round (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/8618/setantashieldbr9.jpg) saw a weakened side sneak past 10-man Workington 1-0.

Then the goal feast started, in the last five games I'd only scored two goals and won one, drew one.

2-0 Down away to Hucknall and down to 10 men things didn't look good, but Ameobi pulled a goal back in injury team, when Hucknall's Keeper decided to become a Sweeper. Just after the hour Hucknall made it 3-1 and game over, but in the 82nd minute Winger McClements scored from a 40yard free kick to give us hope, and hope came in the 87th minute when Torre beat the Keeper to the ball to make it 3-3! (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/1671/comebackox6.jpg) Though letting Hucknall score three goals from two shots wasn't clever.

With my Keeper unable to dive I decided to change things around and play more attacking, so I switched to my trusty Lower League Narrow 4-3-3 Formation (Helped by injury to my left winger) - with central attack minded midfielders paid with Tierney in the middle with a back arrow, right winger McClements moved up front with a right side arrow to create space.

The changes paid over immediatley with 3-1 wins over Stafford and King's Lynn, we now have so much space attacking wise - it's helpful that my main three strikers are all pacey, whilst my wingers can also double up as wide strikers.

Next up was our fan day (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/923/fandaynp4.jpg) - all 69 season ticket holders could bring a friend for half-price, somehow we got 1255 people turning up for the game, previous matches had an average of 660.

The fans were treated to our most exciting game of the season, dispite an earlier injury to Torre Ameobi's hat-trick propelled us to a 4-3 win (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/419/fandayresultui1.jpg). Seemed to be a succes (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/5550/fangametg3.jpg) and will hopefully attract some fans as I really need some money.

We even kept 1000 fans for our next game, that was even more thrilling a 5-4 win over Alfreton, really need to find a decent Keeper.

That leaves us fourth after 17 games in the Blue Square North.

One final thing I do really like the awful state of the pitches in this version: a muddy pitch (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/4828/muddypitchzx8.jpg) and a wet pitch. (http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/8682/rainkz1.jpg)

Play-off Semi 1st Leg (http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/4483/semi1tz4.jpg)

As you can see, not the best result, although we were away, and they finished second in league. Cochrane's late goal could be crucial in the second leg. Massive loss losing Malcher to a broken arm. will miss his goals for sure...

Just a few things....

- Unable to adjust budges since the patch.
- No parent club assigned to me, despite asking for over 2 years
- Not happy with the 'Long term expectations' bug
- Scout reports are still annoying. My best right back is also a centerback, and thats where he plays, so the scout compares others to him, but i want a comparison to my second best right back.
- Pitch Dimensions havant changed for 3 seasons, despite me giving different dimensions each season
- Far far far too many goals are scored. Every match day theres at least 2 games with 6 goals or more for a single team, usually 4 or 5 teams hitting that many, and more often than not, a 7 or 8 goal score is registered.
- These high scores are never for me....

Sounds like it's just me who isn't experiencing loads of goals since the patch. I'm top of the league after 16 games with 8 clean sheets and 3 for the opposition (two of them 0-0), not once have I scored more than 3 goals, when I won 4-0.

And for the first time (most probably in their history) Stamford has made it to the first round proper of the FA Cup.

Home to get myself some sort of glamour tie, or a team even lower than myself.

NepentheZ - I also havent been given a parent club yet, despite asking everytime its been available, and I'm now in my 4th season.

Season End Prescot Cables 11/12

This will be a short one !

League Table (http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/8980/10292007230425an5.jpg)

Never ind danger of relegation, but never really in any chance of getting a playoff place.

Im slightly dissapointed with my squad this season. Last season i had problems in my attack, this season i had really big problems in the back as my oppenet in almost EVERY match scored on a header.
I only managed to get through first round in the JP cup, every other cup i was beaten in the first round ! INCLUDING my Biggest loss ever (http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/5586/10292007230939nd2.jpg)
Embarresing, and that was only the second game of the season.

I really dont see the need for me to point out any key players other than Yankov (http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/7613/10292007231056lr5.jpg)

If it wasnt for him i would have conceded even more goals.
For the next season i will be looking for defenders with high heading + jumping.
Hopefully i would be in a playoff spot, that is my goal

Blue Square North - Play-off final - Season 2008-09

Play-off final (http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/696/final0809bi1.jpg)

Gutted... absolutely gutted... after pulling it back to 4-4 in the third minute of injury time, i thought we'd done enough to take the match to extra-time. but Redditch scored a winner in the fifth minute of extra time, and with basically the last kick of the match...

looks like it's another season in Blue Square North for me... it will take some getting over this defeat.....

I think I've hit (http://static.pici.se/pictures/MBDRekXsW.png) gold (http://static.pici.se/pictures/tFKsPUSXg.png) tactic-wise after a number of tweaks in pre-season. We usually dominate possession now and don't leak nearly as many goals as last year. I'll be very disappointed if we end up slipping down below the playoff spots come end of the season...

This guy (http://static.pici.se/pictures/WFjYAVvqU.png) deserves some credit too.

AFC Wimbledon Season One Review

AFC Wimbldon, your BSS champions and coming to a Blue Square Premier club near you! Yes, I have guided the Wombles to promotion winning the BSS on GD which was a + 49. This has been a season that had the expectation of mid-table and 9th by the media blown away by my boys. We managed to get 6 red cards, 122 yellow cards, and our average attendance was a shade under 2,800.

As usual cup competitions were a mixed bag so here I go:

FA Cup: Board expected me to make it the First round proper, got knocked out at the 4th Round Qualifying part and the board is still miffed about this today
FA Trophy : Board expected us to make it to round two, we made it all the way to the Semi-finals losing to Chesterfield on a 4-1 aggrigate.
Setanta Shield : Board wanted us to advance to the 3rd round, and we made it to the fifth round losing to Crawley 3-0.

Here are the screenies for your viewing enjoyment:

Boreham Wood March 2010 update. Conference South.

We're 5th in the league and hanging on for dear life to that last playoff position.

I can't stand the game since the patch but am plugging on regardless.

Due to my lack of "feeling" for the game I can't be arsed to do screenshots mid-season.

Points of not.

- My big fat GK has not only scored, (direct free-kick), but has hit the post, (direct free-kick) and provided 4 assists, (indirect free-kicks).
- We've just beat top of the table Ebbsfleet, (again). They must be sick of the sight of us by now.
- Our top goal-scorer has scored only 13 goals, but we have 20 other players who have also found the net.
- Despite being a whopping £151pw UNDER our wage budget, (and not spending a single penny on players), we are overdrawn at the bank to the tune of £297,014.
- My contract expires on 30th June this year and there have been no moves to offer me a new deal so I guess I will be shown the door.
- In the clubs defence, I did say that i would challenge for thetitle this season and although I have been in the playoff zone for most of the season, Ebbsfleet are romping the lead and are 16 points ahead even after I bet them at the weekend.
- The only links I have are with Arsenal and Watford and these are purely for playing frendlies. there is no deal for loaning players. Actually, I forgot that I cancelled the Arsenal link at the beginning of the season after they cancelled the friendly. Bastrads!
- Target man bailey is the only player who has been added to the clubs favoured personnel list.

The reason I'm going into detail is that we have just 8 games left and I have a feeling that I will not be offered a new contract even if I don't finish in the playoffs. It could be buggy but as I haven't challeneged for the title an ambitious board would be well within their rights to give me the push anyway so I guess we will never know.

If anyone has either scored or conceded long shots that seem to have gone straight through a GK, then please upload your PKK, to the ftp and post the PKM name in this thread.

Mid season update - Billericay Town 2008/2009

So far we have been as inconsistent as you can get with no real winning/losing streak. Out of all cups now and my financial state is very very bad.

KaNovi. Perhaps you could do the same. It's not just big scoring games I'm interested in, but also games in which the AI has players sent off. I thik the tactics that they use when a man down is suspect to say the least and needs to be looked at.

It was a nice cup run while it lasted. Just lost 2-1 away to Salisbury (currently in the BSP) in the first round.

Does anyone else find it takes forever to process the cup fixtures/results?

So begining of March - 9 games left and I am only 1 point behind - having said that I am also only 2 ahead of 3rd placed Tamworth - this could go down to the wire and my goal difference is much worse than the others.......

confidence (http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l254/migwar/dafuge/confidence2.jpg)

so the top bar is full, as i've exceeded expectations. that's ok.

the next one is what's confusing me. bear in mind that i just won the playoffs. i never said i would win the title, just in case i didn't. that's very annoying. they seem to be disappointed that i achieved exactly what i said i would??

weird. hope i get a contract offer...

I can provide some input into my experiences with players being sent off as i believe i have had more than just about anyone else here both for and against me. I don't have the exact stats for my opponents but i have so far in my first season had 13 players sent off and if i had to take a stab i'd say my opponents have had about 10 in games against me.

The only one of these many games that has resulted in a 'large' result was when i was beaten 5-1 by Bath early in the season after having a player sent off. Other than that whenever the AI has had a player sent off they have used the tactics i would expect by throwing 9 men behind the ball often to great effect although i have been able to snatch 1 and 2 goal victories in most cases.

Onto the other point being discussed recently with regards to loan players. I agree that young players from high divisions should not be dropping down this far and in FM07 i think this worked well as it was quite difficult to get anybody from the Premiership/Championship to drop down. However having said that i actually don't agree with your idea of placing restrictions on where you can loan players from for next years challenge, this is because the real appeal of dafuges challenge over the past few years has been because it's a simple idea with few restrictions.

To add rules on loan players would probably result in a lot more people becoming frustrated and being disqualified from the challenge and leaving dafuge with a lot more work to do by checking up on every player that each person loans to make sure they are within the restrictions. I would hope that it's not a rule that needs to be bought in but instead SI manage to tweak the loan system so we don't face this problem again.

Tiverton Town - Conf South - 09/10 - End of Season Round-Up

Final Position = 3rd - Promotion via playoffs.

League Table (http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc302/jamesf18/League10.jpg)

This was a season that was filled with suspensions and injuries. Managed to grab 3rd place due to some really good end of season form that carried into the playoffs. Was really worried after i failed to land Cherno Samba on loan again but another plymmouth striker, Josh Grant (http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc302/jamesf18/JoshGrant.jpg), bagged the goals this season.

Another player of notice has to be Andy 'Razor' Ritchie (http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc302/jamesf18/Ritchie.jpg). He managed to pick up a massive 7 Red cards and 22 yellow cards. No amount of discipline eradicated this players thirst for getting stuck in. Is a good player but missed most the season due to suspension.

End of Season Squad (http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc302/jamesf18/FinalSquad10.jpg)

Finances have been worse this season for some reason. I think my attendances have been fairly similar to last season so i suspect it has something to do with the slightly inflated wage budget. Hopefully i will be filling out Ladysmead next season in the Blue Square National but im not holding my breathe.

Finances (http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc302/jamesf18/Finances10.jpg)

Of Note

With my contract expiring on the 30th June 2010, i had to wait to June the 22nd. Was getting worried that my offer would not come but i feel as though this is hope to others that are around the april time and are still waiting for their conctract other. I did say i would challenge for playoffs and i did achieve this though. Before signing the contract i got this Message (http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc302/jamesf18/worry.jpg) about 3-4 times. Wanted to slap the board considering i would bite their hand off for any sort of contract offer. But all worked out in the end and have a contract til 2013 now http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif.

Looking forward to a long season in the Blue Square National now...

Chippenham Town - 2009/10 - Blue Square South - End of season update

Movin' on up! This season was no less than successful, we went further in the cups than the board expected (making it to the Setanta Shield 4th Round, the FA Trophy 2nd Round, and most excitingly the FA Cup 1st Round. Better still, we took over 1st place in the league just before the halfway point of the season, and never relented it, leading to the Blue Square South title, and a trip up to the Blue Square Premier for 2010/11!

Squad (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/SonicAD/0910endofseasonsquad.jpg)

Worryingly, despite having exceeded expectations , I have yet to be offered a contract. Also a problem is the high win bonus I promised at the beginning of the season, which lead to having to pay out £110,000 to the squad, putting us a little over £80,000 in the red. Um... oops. That's going to take quite awhile to make up, even being in the BSP. Hopefully I'll have the chance to make it up. Considering how badly we played in Cups against Blue Square Premier teams, it looks like a battle against relegation is in the cards...

And, with much relief, I got my new contract less than a week before my current one ended:
Contract (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/SonicAD/1011newcontract.jpg)

I was hoping to get 5 years, but no such luck, they were only willing to go for 2.

On the plus side, I didn't realize how much TV money there would be for the BSP, so even though I'm far in the red right now, I know at the least I've got something coming to help me break even.

I'm starting to feel the same way mate, I would be interested in hearing your reasons though.

For me, since installing the patch my teams morale has quite mysteriously dropped from green to red and all of a sudden I cannot buy a win! I'm losing far too many games and pre-patch I was on the verge of mounting a title challenge, now I'm holding onto a play-off place.

It could also be a coincidence, which is why I'm interested in hearing people's opinions on the patch.

Also my board's opinion of me has plummeted, while pre-patch they were happy I was exceeding expectations they are no longer happy with being fourth!?!

It's starting to get me down, I just hope that my form isn't down to the patch otherwise I'd be a very unhappy bunny http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Spurs1979

The patch is fine for me, I didn't bother that much with tactics or playing the game before though as the closing down was so un-realistic it was not enjoyable for me. Of course you could get around it but why? Nobody in real life constantly backs off & makes 1 tackle in 10 attempts to close the ball down, especially when you want said player to jump into the tackle & try to break play up early etc.

You have to remember you are always going to have bad patches of form & that is just naturally something you have to work through.

Just started my first season in league 1 & it's incredibly hard, even though I've had the upper hand in all league games so far I've lost 2, drawn 1 & won 1 to leave me knowing I'll have a good battle to avoid relegation if it carries on.

On another note I've been handing out various trials to youngsters who were released from some top sides in Europe in hope that maybe 1 of these may go on to bigger things. I decided to take 4 on a permanent transfer after they impressed me & my coaches during there trial. All 4 youngsters were given 2 year contracts whee they have the chance to prove they can improve into players worthy of league 1 status or hopefully maybe championship status.

Yann Durand (http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y80/Spurs1979/FM2007/Durand.jpg) A young French centre back released by Marseille in the summer
Jean-Paul Frobert (http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y80/Spurs1979/FM2007/Frobert.jpg) Another young French player but this time a left back from Lyon
Michael Beltman (http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y80/Spurs1979/FM2007/Beltman.jpg) Michael is a left back also & was released from Dutch club Ajax this summer
Cristian De Santis (http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y80/Spurs1979/FM2007/DeSantis.jpg) The last of the 4 was attacking midfielder/striker Cristian who was releaed by Italian side Fiorentina

Yep just as I thought after those first 4 games this season is going to be bloody hard to avoid relegation. Some games I don't know wether to laugh or cry as I've conceeded some truly awfull goals. Luck doesn't seem to be on my side either with crucial decisions but I'll struggle on in hope things change.

The one thing that gives me hope is I'm generally the better of the 2 sides in pretty much every game this season, infact only the cup game to Crystal Palace & the league game against Leicester I was clearly put to the sword.

I'll post a few screenshots from some games I've lost in the league this season to show just how things arent going my way, I also got slated the game after I changed my tactic for the very first time from 4312 to a 4132 that if I didnt change my reluctance to alter my usual 4132 formation I will struggle. Strange how it was the first time I'd used it in the game ever & got a draw from the game http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Barnsley (http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y80/Spurs1979/FM2007/Barnsley.jpg)

The common factor is all but Wycombe those teams are in the top 6 of the league, just think if I can get a change of luck I should hopefully be able to climb to safety.

Storzy. It's not that I'm having a problem winnig post-patch, (points collected per game seem similar). It's more to do with the how the game "feels" which is the issue.

I was already having to put up with unrealist home attendances and/or financial issues caused by this, but I was at least kept going by the fac that I had my team playing to a very distinct style. We were conceding hardly any goals and were going on decent unbeaten runs as a result. We were drawing many games though. Niw, we are winning one and then losing the next and it feels as if I am "aquaplaning" and have little or no control over the results.

Pre-patch nobody had scored more than 2 goals against us. We kept 18 clean sheets in 29 games

Post-patch we have conceded 4, 3, 5, 4 and 2 goals on 5 further occasions, and kept clean 4 sheets in only 16 games.

Maybe I just need to give the game more of a chance.

Its because the game uses the full game engine to process games in the same competition as you are playing in. There's a lot more of the early cup round games then there are league games so it takes longer to process.

Billericay 2009/10 Blue Square South

End of second season in charge and what a season top of league (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/2nd%20season/leaguetable.jpg) right from game 4 (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/2nd%20season/graph.jpg)

this was mainly due to association with west ham and them loaning players as part of deal with as parent club transfers (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/2nd%20season/xfers.jpg)

it meant my 1st team (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/2nd%20season/1stteam-1.jpg) looked like this and my star player was Hogan Ephraim (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/2nd%20season/starplayer.jpg) on loan from west ham

even with run to 5th round of setanta shield and 1st round proper of fa cup finances (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/2nd%20season/finances-1.jpg) didnt improve which is worrying as contract is due for renewal

It will give you an "overall" comment and also take into account your poor financial performance, (which may down to the same issues as I am encounteriing).

I wouldn't be surprised if you don't get offered a new contract because of the financial situation.

I just can't keep a clean sheet at all this season, pretty much guaranteed to get relegated now as my morale as gone rock bottom amongst the team. I am conceeding goals galore even if it's just a few shots, Colchester just scored 2 from 3 shots on goal whilst yet again the opposition gk got mom by keeping out no fewer then 14 shots on target.

This season is a right off already http://community.sigames.com/customicons/icon13.gif

I was gonna give you some advice, but when the opposition GK makes 14 saves you've just got to press continue and forget about it http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

As soon as I said I'd given up on this season I win 3 games in 4 games, I opted to give a couple of youngsters the chance to impress & they've been performing well since I did.

The run started of with a bit of luck, about time I thought to be honest as I was given a penalty in a very tight away game to Rushden to give me a 1-0 win.

We followed that up with a 3-1 defeat against Brighton at there place, no worries as they're flying high in the league this season.

The response from my players was great though as they went on to win 2-0 at home to Southend comfortably, much more confidence in that performance.

The best game however was at home against Port Vale where I started the first half in the same style as I won league 2 with last season. Total domination & was 3-0 up very soon into the game. Conceeded a goal before half time after a bad pass back but we went on to score 4 more goals in the 2nd half, we also had 2 goals chalked off to some dispare from my team.

With 10 minutes left we got an injury to my sub striker & had to play with 10 men as I'd used 3 subs just before. We conceeded 2 late goals after this but still won 7-3 to give us a real fighting chance.

I'm still trying to work this out too. If more players "mark tall player" does it mean that they will "double up" on main targets or will it be a sliding scale of importance with 1 man marking 1 attacker http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif?

Evertonbloke Season 1 Update

After taking over with Gloucester City the media were kind enough to predict a bottom place finish for the club. A whole new squad and back room was required on just £2,300 per week wages, which I felt was a bit on the tight side!

Bids for players and staff were flying all over the place! First through the door was my new assistant manager, followed closely by two fitness coaches, a scout, and a physio. Training would be based almost entirely on fitness while in the conference.

Players you might recognise are Ashley Bayes, ex-Leyton Orient 36 year old 'keeper, who I made captain. Bayes was very good, however he did get replaced near the end of the season when i found a free agent in the form of Greg Smith. This could prove a problem when I pick the captains for next season!

Also though on the way in was ex-england international Jason Wilcox, who actually improved a lot towards the end of the season, earning himself a new contract.

Other big players for us have been Andre Boucaud a Trinidad and Tobago international who ended the season with our highest average rating of 7.21. Hardy Pinto-Moreira a Portugese striker who contributed 10 goals and 7 assists. Matthew Smith a loanee who scored 19 goals and earned a full contract.

The defence was the best in the division with Chris Piper at the heart wh will become my next captain.

We ended the season on a 13 match unbeaten run, which was nice, but it was too late to get into the play offs and finished a very creditable 8th place and recieved the overachievers award http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

League Table (http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p159/evertonbloke/Season1.jpg)

It is the record scoreline in my game 3 1/2 seasons into the game, I don't consider that un-realistic for a league where you get high scores during a season. I am 100% comfortable that this was a freak result during the season where my strikers finally managed to put away some of the chances they were creating. Defensive mistakes at both ends contributed & overall it won't happen again this season I am pretty sure of. If I get anymore high scores I shall make note to bang the door down for sigames on your behalf!

Thanks for your concern though, you clearly over-react to everything but chill out a little bit & enjoy the game for what it is.

Spurs1979.

but still won 7-3 to give us a real fighting chance.

Post-patch we have conceded 4, 3, 5, 4 and 2 goals on 5 further occasions, and kept clean 4 sheets in only 16 games.

I have had 2 high scoring game, 1-9 and 4-6..

Far far far too many goals are scored. Every match day theres at least 2 games with 6 goals or more for a single team, usually 4 or 5 teams hitting that many, and more often than not, a 7 or 8 goal score is registered.

also just beat Alfreton 5-4,

Have you actually seen your Keeper dive post-patch? Just had a game end 4-3 and on every goal it looks like neither Keeper moved

Im not very impressed with the amount of goals scored this season in the league, with Oxford scoring over 100 goals and the bottom two teams conceeding over 100 goals each with Nuneaton conceeding a whopping 154 goals.

Lost - in the playoffs for the 2nd season running i came 2nd this season aswell on 94points, behind kidderminster who scored 140 goals and constable scored 63 or something really stupid

I had two quick strikers up front scoring 82 goals together.

what a game 29-0 shots

and the final score was 12-0

1 player scores 7 goals (http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee208/andy139s/dd916838.jpg)

I left the best till last.

Michaelmurrayuk Great update and all is looking good after 17 games.

Mangotsfield 3rd Season mini-mini update

I am trying to recruit players like mad and i'm finding it really tough http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
I have changed my Ass Man from a young English guy to Robert Prosinecki http://community.sigames.com/customicons/icon14.gif
Since i've employed him there's been a big change in players interested in joining me http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
I'm guessing it's because of his knowledge etc but there are shed loads of Serbians, Macedonians, Croatians and Slovakians who want to join the mighty <STRIKE>Maggotsfield United</STRIKE> Mangotsfield United http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
So i try and get them to come over and have a trial, they all accept http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.......but they can't get a bloody work permit http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
The frustating thing is that they've got a few International caps (8 was the most!) and they still can't get one. The one that really bugged me was a young Albanian MC. He was 19 and had played 6 times for Albania and was considered an important part of the National team. http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Man i hope i can strengthen my squad. 1-1 draw at home on the opening day and then 0-3 stuffing at the hands of Brentford have been our first two matches. Could be a long season http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
Really i could do with the following new players:
GK, DC, AMR, AMC, AML, ST! Not much then, oh and i don't have a parent club...... http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

There is no surprise that everyone will at some stage see high scores because we're all playing seperate games & you can't just pick out instances from different games to prove your point.

As I have said you want ME to upload something which in the context of MY game hasn't been that common.

Good luck with your pursuit but it's upto others to decide wether or not something is an error & needs reporting or not. I do my bit on both the FMO section & the Bugs/Data section of this website & don't need you telling me when & why to report stuff when I have a good idea of football in both real life & the FM series!

But hey what do I know, you're the master in this field clearly

Whoa, why's everyone being so arsey? Jimbo's only trying to help...If anyone's interested I won 11-1 at home in the BSS last season. And I have noticed a few large scores involving AI teams, as well as a disproportionately large number of 5-04 and 4-3 results....Just my two cents!

johnnyquest409
30-10-2007, 05:19
My results don't seem to be unrealistic at the moment. In our last 6 games, we've scored 7 and conceded just four. Even had a 0-0 in there. That said though, there have been a few unusual scorelines from AI matches, a 6-5 win, a 6-3 win, 4-4 draw and a handful of 4-3. Nothing to make a song and dance about yet though, but I'll keep an eye on things.

I shall say it again, a 7-3 win is NOT worthy of being posted in the bugs forum no matter what your personal opinion is, if it was 17-0 then fine I'd totally agree with you but it wasn't so I can't.

On a positive note I've managed to pick up a few more wins to move out of the relegation zone, many thanks to my short term loan of Dag Aleksander Olsen who is on fire again for me (he scored 4 in the 7-3 win).

Still plenty of games left though & he'll be gone in a months time so need to make the most of the games coming up as I'm only 4 points clear of.

Four games left of our season and we're hovering just outside the playoffs in 6th place. We've been on a good run of late, unbeaten now in 12 but have been drawing too many which has slowed our progress up the table. We're two points behind AFC Telford and have to play them in 2 games time. That match will probably decide our fate.

Matlock 10/11 Blue sq. Premier

after finishing 17th last season, this seasons hopes are much higher...mainly because of some good transfers

Transfers (http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/5610/summertransfersan8.jpg)

The pick of them being my new captain Michal Karp, a solid polish midfielder i signed after a succesfull trial period of 1 day http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Georgi Lazarov took a bit more convincing, but a 16-year old left-back, my coach rates to become a leading player in League one for the future is welcome any time...

Last but not least, my star loan signing Luca Senicanin, he looks excellent on paper, hopefully he could live up to the giant expectations, I had for him....

Luca + Debut (http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/6130/lucaprofiledebutzv4.jpg)

Opened his account with a hattrick on his debut against Cambridge...
Seems like he could be the one to send Matlock into playoff zone, come the end of the season, let´s just hope Sheffield won´t recall the loan http://community.sigames.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Just a quick question for those who have already played in the Blue Square Premier: Is there a massive step up in quality or not? Is it a case of a major transfer overhaul or should I be able to compete with what I've got and a couple of new faces?

I dont think its that big a step.. i got promoted my first season up there, and i think i got about 5-6 new players in..

But from BSN to League 2 i think there is a major step up
