Player forced retirement

Just read another thread about 'does the game have an age limit for the manager', and it got me wondering, has anyone seen a player retire through injury at a young age. I've seen players retire for no reason at about 21, but is it included on the game (forced retirement)?

If not, would you like to see it introduced?

It has certainly been in previous versions, but I haven't seen it happen for a long time. I also wonder if it is still there.

I've only seen it with young players who have been released, not through injury.

But then the longest injury period I've seen is only 7-8 months. Players should be able to be out injured for over a year like Eduardo, Rosicky, Hargreaves - but it doesn't happen.

I dont think its included now because of the potential legal problems it might cause. Imagine the sinario if someone like Rooney had a career threatening injury in the game? I think that SI would be getting a letter or two from Rooneys solicitors because of this. I do remember it being in the game when it was still called Championship Manager though.

yeah, on CM 01/02, I once got a huge compensation payout when Richard Wright retired with a career-ending injury in his 20s.

i had javier saviola retire in his mid 20's through a recurring knee problem on cm 4. would be nice in a realistic way to see it in the game sometimes.

You wouldn't like it if that happened to most promising youngster you paid all your transfer budget for, it's still a game and needs to be fun

i know that pal, but its also a game that prides itself on depth and realism.. if it happened, then thats just football isnt it?

It is still in the game. Do a search for Kerlon. Chances are he'll have retired due to injuries.

There's absolutely nothing that could be sued for if a player retires due to injury in the game. No defamation of character, no slander or libel.

Chill everyone. What i wanna say is this feature is still in the game, albeit on a very rare occurence chance. Happened to me once in a few FMs back.
