Network game Help

Hi i'm trying to join a network game that my mates set up but getting message

"unable to connect to server"

Server id is ***.***.*.*

does this have right no of digits & if so any idea what problem could be?

Any1 cant wait to get game going but cant get it to load.

Has your mate port forwarded? btw, server ID's change all the time so it is hard to say.

Dont think he would no how to port forward to be honest. And i def dont but will search on google.

Server id would it be same as default gateway on command promp screen?

Well i'm a bit confused to be honest on guides on internet.

Used to be so much easier on old FM

Im having a similair problem, i get in the game with my friend to start but when we both come off and decide to come back on he gets the "unable to connect to server" so it only works the first time

Last was 05 or 06 not sure but didnt have any problems connecting just put IP Address in and it worked.

Think i've found a simple step by step guide to port forwarding so going to try that 2morr see what happens

I play network a lot, heres some tips, its always the simple answer

No1 - Make sure you both have the same updated version of FM10, because if you have 10.2 and he has 10.3 you cant connect.

No2 - Hamachi is the best program for connecting each others IP addresses and is much safer.

No3 - Has the Host enabled networking in the preferences menu?

Best way get hamachi

One of you host a network on Hamachi, type his username and PW and when your connected on there.

Host runs the game and enables network from preferences on FM10

Host starts up and game and gets to team selection screen

You click join network game, then click join other server in bottom right

Then add his Hamachi IP address not his coms and password if it asks, thats it!
