JTL Master
What Striker role do you think is most effective?? I know it depends on their attributes, but what do you find is the best standard roles (Advanced forwards most effective, or poachers, target men, deep lying forwards??) Also, what do you think are the most important attributes for these roles and what roles play the best together? Thanks
ThfcJoe
It should say if you click the players shirt on the tactics screen. it really depends on your teams style.
Clampos
Of youre taling combos then the following seem to be popular: Deep lying and Advanced Poacher and Target Man Poacher and Complete Although it really depends on your team/tactics
baker.simon
I find all these settings are pretty uselful as long as your striker/s are set to attacking and not support.
Roman Chevalier
for eg, Drogba is a complete forward, while anelka may be best utilised as a supporting deep lying forward, or inside forward. Marlon Harewood perhaps a defensive forward or target man, plays well with a quick and technically proficient guy who can run off the last defender. It all depends on physical stats imo

Harewood has pace so I'd play him up top with a target man allowing Harewood to chase the flick on, it works but then again I think they all 'work' and it's just a case of finding the one that gets the best out of the strikers, whoever they are. ThfcJoe
Crouch and Defoe - Target Man Support and Poacher Attack may work for example.

I'd always use him as a target man at Ipswich, but the other striker was quick too so i guess thats why. Too quick by championship standards anyway
AcidBurn
An advanced striker and a poacher seem to work best for me, if not then a targetman and poacher do nearly as well.
JTL Master
Thanks guys... Another quick question... When playing a target man, do you ever play to feet or run onto ball?? I have tried this and it does not seem to work very well, even with pacy forwards.
hilly_boro
Only time I've ever really used target man. Was when I had a striker with 20 for heading and 18 for first touch. So I picked either to feet or to head depending on who I was playing and who his striker partner was.
